wake up through the night with a blocked nose and feel fresher the next morning. Not only does it look great in my bedroom, but I can also move it from room to room with the easy portable handle. Aesthetically, it fits my home perfectly. The quality of this product and benefit to my home/life is beyond what I expected. The different settings mean I can have the purifier on a lower or higher setting depending on my needs. The quiet motor also means I can have it on in my office when I am working or have it on through the night. The additional Ionizer gives me piece of mind that the air I am breathing, and my daughter is breathing is cleaned more thoroughly.

It is the perfect addition to my home.

fashionable than a simple cylinder. It measures 210mm side to side and 240mm corner to corner across the top where the exhaust vent is situated and stands at 320mm tall on small anti-scratch feet.

It is light enough to be carried if necessary. The weight distribution is top heavy as the motor and fan are located toward the top of the unit, just beneath the exhaust vent/grill. The inlet vents are disguised on three of the four sides and they also act as a night light diffuser.

Aesthetically the unit I have has a white outer casing and a grey exhaust vent.

The disposable air filter is located below the motor and is accessed by placing the unit on its side and removing the latched panel at the base of the unit.

The control switches are of the soft touch design and are identified with engraved symbols and information on the surface of the outer casing of the air purifier.

Operation: The air purifier operates on mains power only.

There are choices for the user to apply in its operation and these are selected by touching the relevant controls.

When the unit is initially turned on at the power point all the LED’s light for a short time after which the unit is ready for the user to select the modes of operation.

Activating the power switch on the unit sets it to the highest fan speed. There are three fan speed settings available with level 1 being the slowest. Moving in turn from level 3 to level 2 and to level 1 is achieved by pressing the power switch repetitively. If the unit is operating at level 1 another press of the power switch will place the appliance in standby so long as the power remains turned on at the power point.

A separate switch is used to set the operational timer duration of 2, 4 or 8 hours. If the timer feature is not used the appliance will run continually until it is turned off at the unit or at the power point.

A third switch in the control array is used to activate the night light feature.

There is an indicator provided in the operational array to show when the filter needs replacement. If this light begins to flash the filter needs to be replaced. This alert lamp is reset by holding the power switch and the timer switch simultaneously for three seconds and listening for a ‘beep’ and the lamp going out. [this information is from the handbook as I have not needed to change the filter yet.]

Functionality assessment: The Simply Fresh air purifier is a straight forward no fuss appliance to use but as the hand book indicates it’s designed for use in less than a 30 cubic metre space. This therefore limits its use to reasonably small enclosed rooms such as a 3 x 3 metre bedroom or office.

There is operational noise emitted at all fan speeds and is louder as the speed increases which equate to about the same level of noise as a desk top box type cooling fan.

The 3 stage filter is a sealed consumable item and must be removed from the plastic packaging before installation in the base of the unit. This is the only part the end user needs to access as the fan and motor are sealed from user access.

Likes and dislikes: Likes - The air purifier is quiet portable and can easily be carried from room to room. It is unobtrusive in appearance and being relatively small can sit neatly on a shelf or coffee table or inconspicuously on the floor in the corner of the room.

It appears to be well made from durable materials and parts fit together snugly with no sharp edges.

Dislikes - The actual filter element is a throw away item at the end of its functional life and also is about equal to a quarter of the original purchase price for the actual air purifier. So as the service life of the filter element is estimated to be as little as 8 months it could be considered expensive by some to service this appliance, especially in a dusty environment where this replacement time frame is arguably shortened. [The hand book says it’s life is from 8 to 12 months]

It's also too small an air purifier to adequately filter open plan living spaces especially in non air-conditioned areas of the house or office and more of a struggle when windows in warmer seasons are open letting in more dust. In this setting it could be argued that the appliance would be over worked to filter the constant new air entering the room, although to be fair it really is designed for smaller rooms and spaces.

Summary: I would recommend buying this type of air purifier for those who want to filter the air in a small room that is air-conditioned but it would be better if the filter element could be cleaned by the end user to extend its service life.

It's difficult to assess whether it's actually beneficial as a air purifier as there is no way two quantify it's success but having examined the filter element after a 1 month of use there is evidence of dust particles accumulation on the outer surface of it and stale air after about 2 hours of operation on level 3 appeared to be removed from a bedroom that measures 4 x 4 metres.

The night light is a good idea and on the lowest fan setting it emits a low level noise that could assist some people to drop off to sleep.

It was difficult to find retail outlets that stocked the replacement filter elements and even after contacting a service agent they recommended buying one from the Sunbeam website.

this little guy is a game changer for me when we travel - and because it is so small I even packed it and took it away on a motorbike trip!!! I even use it in our office while working from home.

When we travel sometimes hotel/motel rooms can feel a bit dusty, or smell a bit musty, so I make sure I've got my On-The-Go Fresh with me and sleep with it on, I really notice the difference waking up, no stuffy nose for me anymore!

I've only owned it since beginning September so I haven't had to change the filter yet. It's super quiet. I love the sleek design.

fairly quiet and I’ve noticed an instant improvement. I’m not waking up congested or stuffy which is a huge improvement for me. The overall size is great and not too big. Perfect size for a bedroom. I got mine on sale. It was super easy to setup and operate. The filter needs changing every 12 months and a light vacuum every 8 weeks. I am very happy with this purchase.
