area of the garden done. Compared to my old Ryobi 36V air-blower it last a fraction of the time and was double the price. Very underwhelming.

Makita DUB185Z I needed a new blower so I purchased a Makita DUB 185Z because I already have several LXT batteries to use. I was very surprised how… Read more

good it really was, I used a 5a/h which has lasted quite some time before it has needed a recharge. The blower has more than enough power to do my back and front driveways and large back patio. I also purchased the bag for it to convert to a vacuum as well, although the bag is quite small it is still good enough for the small jobs around the outside of the house and garage. It is quite light to use compared to my blower vac which it quite heavy and awkward to use. I also purchased the longer tube owing to the fact that the small rubber tube it came with was to short causing me to bend over a lot when using it. Some people who have purchased the blower have stated the most annoying thing is if you are right handed like me is the air intake keeps sucking your shirt or shorts over the intake so to remedy that I heated up a plastic 90 degree bend to redirect the intake to the front which is removable if I chose to use the bag (problem fixed ). I really like the fact that it is light to use and gets the job done as intended not awkward like my blower/vac.

Makita Blower - Blown away! – Best investment we have made in the garden. Mostly only need to use 3 or 4 speed but it goes to 6. Obviously not a petrol blower, but Makita has the… Read more

36V worked out to give Max power. 2x18V’s get the job done without mixing fuel and oil. Unit is light and great to use.

DO NOT BUY! Rubbish Product, Rubbish Customer Service – I purchased a Makita combo kit (DLX2283S) which came with 2 x 3.0Ah batteries (BL1830B). A week later, needed a blower. I was looking at the DUB186SF… Read more

combo kit however on the good & correct advise of the guy at Bunnings, he advised to purchase the blower skin only as the battery from the drill/driver combo is the same model. Purchased it, fully charged the battery and used it on the blower…. To my surprise, it last 5-7mins in the blower. Called Makita (1300361690) besides the rudest customer service rep (Brandon) I had to deal with, I tried explaining the situation. He advised that with the 3.0Ah battery it is the correct duration (5mins)??? He mentioned it is only designed for patios and I should’ve have purchased a 6.0 or 5.0Ah battery. I pleaded my case stating that Makita offered this kit as a combo at Bunnings and Sydney Tools. I politely asked him… “so the combo kit Makita offers is not fit for service”. Obviously he couldn’t answer me. Only suggestion he could offer was to take it to a service centre. Disappointing experience with both customer service (Brandon) and product. This will be the last time I purchase rubbish Makita products!!! Should of stuck with Milwaukee.

A handy sized Blower Vac for smaller jobs – A smaller blower vac that does the job. Have used gas powered and sized blower vacs for years. Now in a smaller area I didnt need all the extra… Read more

capacity. For a smaller unit it is capable and does a decent job of picking up leaves and some light rubbish. Doesnt do saturated leaves well but these machines are not really made to do that. The bag has an adequate size for it's runtime and so far has held up well. Its real only drawback is run time but I have tried it in a large yard and only needed two batteries to complete the task that I would normally have used a gas powered unit for. It's major drawback is run time . Using the smaller versions of Makita batteries or aftermarket copy's causes it to run out of power quickly and in the case of after market it seems to have a lower speed. When using 5AH Makita Genuine batteries it runs well and is practical. I also checked for the availability of spare parts and was happy to find the availability of replacement turbines as this is a part that wears. My previous Ryobi units were retired due to turbine wear and with no spares available are not as useful as they could have been. Been using it for 3 months and am happy with it. Would buy the same again but it could do with a larger bag to help the vac and capacity. The blower isnt a huge one but is adequate for my needs.
