quality of machines had declined. 6 Months: The machine stopped functioning entirely and was sent in for warranty repair. Post-First Repair: After being returned, the coffee flow remained inconsistent compared to earlier models and standard workplace machines. 10 Months: Coffee quality declined severely, and the machine was returned for a second warranty repair. Service Center Response: The service centre informed me the 2nd time round that the machine had to be disposed of due to a cockroach infestation, stating it was not covered under warranty.
Observations & Customer Support Experience: Usage & Maintenance: The machine was only used on weekends, and official descaling kits were used when performance issues first appeared. The home undergoes annual pest control fumigation. De'Longhi Response: Advised directing all inquiries directly to Nespresso. Nespresso Response: Did not respond to follow-up emails regarding potential seal defects or internal moisture retention issues that could contribute to pest entry. Summary: Due to initial flow issues, repeated repairs, and the potential design risk regarding internal moisture attracting pests, buyers should inspect their machines if they notice a sudden change in coffee flow or quality. Given the lack of resolution from customer support, I cannot recommend this model.

issue where the descale light kept flashing, even after we descaled the machine multiple times. We contacted DeLonghi for advice and tried their suggested fix, but it didn’t resolve the problem.
Because the machine was out of warranty and the repair cost would have been higher than replacing it, we decided to buy a new one — the same model, as it was on special. Unfortunately, the same issue occurred the first time the new machine needed descaling.
This time, it was still under warranty, so we took it in for repair. The technician told us this is not an uncommon fault and that the fix may involve replacing a specific circuit inside the machine.
Overall, while this coffee machine makes great coffee and works well in general, potential buyers should be aware of this recurring descaling light problem.

weeks, useless app (why is it even there), we also found the water tank too small, and it would ask to be filled even though it still had a decent amount of water in it.
It made pretty great coffee though so we could overlook most of those things, and would have happily bought another delonghi after a decent life span.
But, be aware, this machine will quite literally not allow you to make more than 2000 cups of coffee! A software error will display, and now you’ve got a $2k giant paperweight. This is a known issue. Our machine was only 7 weeks out of its 2 year warranty. The “generous” fix is for us to send the machine in to a service centre, but will have to pay for packaging etc, for an unknown amount of time. Reading other reviews, it is likely to be 30+ days, not including postage time. By this time, we would have spent the money for a new machine on takeaway coffees! This is not acceptable for a machine that cost so much. Delonghi deliberately built in obsolescence and have made the “repair” so difficult and cumbersome that it discourages you to take it up. It is cheaper and easier to just go and buy a whole new machine! Ours certainly will not be another delonghi.

and less expensive that could still deliver good coffee. This hits the mark perfectly. I make a litre of coffee using the pour over feature every morning, and everyone helps themselves whenever they're ready - the coffee stays hot for 40 minutes - plenty of time to come backfor seconds. Anything left gets saved in the fridge for the cold coffee aficionado to sip after work. I buy beans in 1kg bags from the supermarket and grind just enough for a pot each morning. Everyone is happy with the taste - preferred to the espresso pods we were using. Easy to clean and maintain, filter paper and grounds go to green waste rather than adding to landfill, and I'm spending less than a quarter of what I did with pods.

espresso machine, expecting strong reliability and support. Unfortunately, the machine has had repeated issues since purchase.
It previously had to be sent to a DeLonghi recommended service centre, where it was held for close to four weeks. It later developed further faults and was sent to another DeLonghi recommended service centre on 28 April.
Multiple parts have since been replaced, including the safety valve, solenoid valve and expansion chamber, but the general alarm fault still could not be resolved. DeLonghi’s own technical team was also involved, but the issue remained unresolved. It's now close to the end of June.
DeLonghi offered 40% off another machine. I did not consider this fair, as it still required me to pay most of the cost of replacing a premium machine that has had repeated faults and could not be repaired through their recommended service network.
After I pushed back, DeLonghi declined to provide a replacement, refurbished replacement, or meaningful refund/credit. They instead offered to cover the service cost and order yet another part to attempt another repair.
After being without the machine since 28 April, and after several parts have already been replaced without fixing the issue, I found this response very poor.
Based on my experience, I would recommend avoiding DeLonghi coffee machines, especially if after-sales support and fair customer service are important to you.

After being without a coffee machine for two weeks, I received it back with the exact same issue unresolved, plus new scratches on the machine and the original box returned ripped apart. To make matters worse, I’m now being asked to send the machine in again, meaning even more time without a product I paid a premium price for. At this price point, this level of service is unacceptable. Poor repair quality, careless handling, and no consideration for the customer experience. I expected far better from a brand like De’Longhi

Overall I am happy with this coffee machine but it does have one serious shortcoming and that is....the coffee is simply not hot enough! Even when the temperature setting is turned to maximum and the coffee cup is preheated the resulting coffee is barely hot and becomes luke warm even before you get to the bottom of the cup. I have 2 friends with the same machine and they complain of the same problem, the coffee simply isn't hot enough. To be honest I have a cheap DeLonghi capsule machine which makes better and hotter coffee than this very expensive model. However, with the amount of coffee we drink the cost of capsules becomes prohibitive and this machine grinds its own beans, which is far more economical. Hopefully future versions of this machine will rectify this shortcoming. I'd recommend looking at other machines if a good hot coffee is what you are looking for. Mark

the machine. They do not check if there is enough water before making you a coffee, quite often the machine will stop while making a coffee because it has run out of water or the bin is full. You either fill it up with water or empty the bin but they have not allowed the machine to continue on with making the coffee. So you end up with a half made coffee and you need to figure out how to finish it (which isn't easy when the machine is supposed to be fully automatic).
5 stars if they introduced the ability for the machine to continue your coffee even if it runs out of water or the bin is full.
I've seen other reviews say that it does not make coffee hot enough, I don't have this issue. Just a thought, maybe your mugs are too cold? I'm in Australia so it doesn't get very cold here.
The quality of the coffee that is made by this machine when it works properly is easily a 5/5.

and kept clogging, plus a couple of Sunbeam prior, it's a great relief. For similar cost this machine is more robust and the single wall basket has never clogged. Nice compact design for our small kitchen and well priced. It took a bit of time to work out how to use, but once we did and set up to suit us, we didn't look back. It does 'ask' to be descaled often and the Delongi brand Ecocalk is expensive, but we haven't risked using a different type. Overall very happy.

waiting for parts for 3-4 weeks) didn't work. Took it in again, second time around it was a bubble under the air filter. Solution to this? Either don't use a filter or buy more products from De'Longhi as an alternative to the filter. Then there's the milk issue. I was told to use the wash cycle on the milk carafe at least 3 times before every coffee I make, or don't leave the carafe in the fridge, only fill it for each cup. This is far from the nice, quick and easy one touch to make a coffee! Annoyingly, I've now been reading quite a number of reviews with similar problems. Have requested a refund or upgrade, but was offered coffee beans and cups for a machine that doesn't work properly. Agree with others regarding the temperature of the overall coffee - just can't get it hot enough. This was my first big purchase like this and it's very disappointing.

machine we had but the basic Arte was out of stock, the only difference being this does a cold brew. Compared with the previous model - extra steps in the process. Where the old model had a built in tamper and the group handle went straight under the grinder, now you attach a guide, get the coffee, remove, place it on a rubber mat/stand, then use a separate tamper to tamp the coffee. Overall an extra 4 or 5 steps just to get the coffee dose and to tamp - the cold brew is a great feature if you’re patient. It takes a long time and my husband (who makes an iced coffee most days) said after the first go he won’t be using that feature but will instead stick to the old process - ice and milk in a cup, add the hot coffee shot. So still a good machine but if you had the old version with built in tamper then the extra steps are a bit of a process and results in a lot more coffee grinds spillage and mess. We had to have 3 repairs on the old one (only one was within warranty) and it lasted 5 years and 5 months before the pressure died so we’ll see if this one lasts longer.

the brew unit is missing.
Now there are a number of colours with this machine and another model the 312.80 which to all intent and purpose is exactly the same machine.
The thing I liked was the new screen being in the angled position and having lighting and pictures for idiots' display. Actually there is no backlighting here just a screen which lights up , that's a shame really, backlighting the icons is needed.
Once you plug it in it walks you through the setup on the screen at the top. I use filtered water and my water is soft so I left the filter out.
The milk jug is a little different from my previous machine with only one foam setting but it is fine and probably is the setting I would use any way if I had a multi choice. There is a sensor near the bottom of the unit that can tell if you have milk in the container or not.
The hot setting and the medium setting for the water, were way too hot for my taste, so I dialed in the low setting and chose five beans for my intensity and chose 5 to 6 on the grind setting. I tried a finer grind, but I thought it would blow up straining to pass water through it.
The pad on top of the machine might be for just placing your cups there with no heating , I guess, but I would not do that as there is no lip to stop them from falling off. If it heats your cup I would be surprised, my old Dinamica did, but it was chrome and I could feel the heat , but this one, I could not feel anything.
The one thing I struggled with was how the heck do I put in my own quantities and save it to the profile.? After much reading on the web, I finally found the answer.
By default you are Profile one , so, what you do is this, you select your drink, you select the intensity and then you hit the MY button and the machine then surrenders to your whim and walks you through to the quantities you chose , hit OK to stop the fill and then it offers to save those settings .
You can thank me later for all the groundwork I did to nail this down. As I have different size mugs for different drinks I was thankful that I got to use those mugs to suit my taste. In the end it was all good and the machine now delivers what I want.
My only gripe with DeLonghi apart from poor documentation is that the machines do not seem to last with 4 years being my record so far, but then when I think back to my Jura it didn't last that long either and was 3 times the price at the time. And to be honest the coffee was no better nor worse. Still though, if it lasts 3 years that's a dollar a day so that's cheap right ?
I recommend this machine with the caveat I may come back and re assess my thoughts if it gives me any angst.

replace my old Magnifica (can't remember the model number) that made truly amazing coffees for a decade. This is apparently the new version of that but after six months it is nearly dead. I tried to get beyond the fact that it looked worse - plastic instead of metal, generally less robust looking - but the weak coffee despite every possible adjustment - descaling, adjusting the grind, cleaning every possibly accessible part etc - is just a vibe kill. The battery blew on my old one and I really wish I'd persevered with it as now I think it was one of the last good Delonghi appliances. I assume they sold the business or are trying to juice up the profits with cheap, components and less stringent quality checks so they can sell it it off to private equity. I am only giving it two stars because it did work really well for about seven weeks.
