After nearly 2 years and near the end of warranty, my experience with my Jura S8 coffee machine is no better. The replacement machine stopped working… Read more

after 5 months because there was no response from the touch screen so the machine was inoperable. Jura authorised a repair at the local service agent. I collected the machine after 3 weeks but it still did not work at all. It had the same non-responsive touch screen.

I returned the machine to the repairer, and it was again returned to me having had the screen module replaced. It then worked.

Then after 12 months new fault developed. The machine failed to deliver the first and/or second coffee. The milk was delivered correctly and the pump then started in order to pour the coffee, but no coffee was delivered apart from a few drops. Then, the machine paused and the message "The Machine is Filling" appeared. The machine then again attempted to deliver coffee and failed. The machine then either reverted to the home screen or froze. Coffee could not be delivered at all.

Jura's solution was for me to remove the grounds tray, put my hand inside the machine and search for a round disc up right inside the machine, and then use a cloth to clean this disc. You can barely get your hand inside the machine and touch the disc, let alone clean it. There is also a risk of damaging the machine because the disc is almost impossible to reach. After persevering and cleaning, the machine poured coffee again. What will fail next?

If difficult internal cleaning is required after the initial 12 months of careful use, then it appears to be a major design or manufacturing failure. I use only top quality beans and clean the machine according to the instructions. The coffee quantity is still inconsistent every day. Sometimes under poured, sometimes overpoured. Plus, the machine never stops pouring coffee cleanly and always runs on for several seconds after the coffee is delivered, squirting, dribbling and dripping.

The cleaning regime is onerous and expensive. Cleaning the milk system does NOT clean the milk frother which must be completely disassembled and cleaned by hand.

This machine is by far the worst of the 5 coffee machines I have owned. I am completely dissatisfied with this machine. If my machine is a lemon, then it should have been be replaced before now. If these faults are common, then this machine should be withdrawn and redesigned. If this is typical of Jura machines, then I would strongly recommend against buying any Jura machine.

Update. I contacted Jura in response to their comment. Despite some previous product issues, I have found that Jura Customer Services take customers' comments seriously and always responds positively. Jura has made a generous offer to replace my machine, which they did not have to do. In response to my comments, they have also offered a higher specification machine, again, something they did not have to do. I cannot fault Jura's customer service and look forward to a great coffee experience in the future. There are very few companies that address customer feedback, customer service and customer satisfaction to this level. I am greatly appreciative of their efforts.

Makes a magnificent coffee, but when I purchased it I was of the understanding I could save both my husbands and my settings for our coffee, you can… Read more

only set 1. That’s not Jura’s fault, but that would be awesome.

I’d had the unit about 3 days when I encountered this issue; it would not process the steamed milk, it would just blow hot air, I pulled it apart to clean it (as recommended), that’s when I found an internal part had separated, it’s called the distributor.

Jura were good, although they did question my cleaning schedule, I clean it every day around the same time, so that wasn’t the issue. They supplied me with a new part and I’ve had no issue since. This is a single cup machine which is fine, but when I’m making a few cups, if I get distracted or I’m too long to get back to the machine, it will do a rinse and put rinse water in my cup. Jura cleaning products are on the expensive side and it says use Jura products only.

coffee. Great when you have people over, can all be done via the Jura app I usually have a black coffee which is piping hot, when making cappuccinos, I usually just heat the cups for added heat, there is an adjustment in the machine to choose what heat settings you want

Bought it in July 2022 and have enjoyed it since (5-6 cups a day consistently). Had to find really good beans (Italian Blend) and clean it regularly using genuine tablets. Not a single issue. Still curious, though, why it has a WiFi module. Show details

The new Jura J10 automatic coffee machine seems to be a new-generation design. The outer case materials are still overwhelmingly plastic, but the… Read more

machine has several functional improvements over previous models. The grinder now reverses momentarily after grinding, apparently to dislodge any remaining coffee residue, and the intensity adjustment can now be performed when the grinder is stationery.

The milk frother has been redesigned to eliminate the annoying rubber top wedge plug which was prone to failure and was expensive to replace. The new frother works OK but the milk froth does not seem to be as robust or as dense as it was previously. So you might want to increase the duration of the milk froth delivery to compensate. It worked for me.

There has also been a big improvement to the milk system cleaning procedure. It is now a one-button-press process, with the machine filling the receptacle with hot water to dissolve the cleaning crystals and then cleaning the system with less water consumption than previously needed. The milk frother itself still needs to be cleaned regularly, but weekly instead of daily. Cleaning daily is better to prevent any internal milk residue build-up.

Heating-up times seem a bit longer than earlier models but the upside is that the coffee is significantly hotter than that from earlier machines. A big improvement there. Heat the cups first if you want a very hot coffee.

The number of coffee types available is very extensive and probably much more than anyone wants or needs, and each one is programmable. This is a complex machine but performs well. After the initial trepidation regarding operational procedure and programming, the machine becomes easy to operate and relatively intuitive.

The coffees, both black and milk types, are very good indeed when you get the intensity, strength, temperature and milk quantity right for you. My wife approves. Flavoured coffees and foams are not my thing but they're available, as is cold brew coffee in several options.

There are undoubtedly more innovations and options than mentioned here, and a more comprehensive instruction manual would be useful.

The normal coffee machine maintenance regimes are required including filter changing and machine cleaning, etc. I think that Jura is very mean for not providing a milk container with the machine. A machine worth thousands of dollars should be operationally complete when delivered. The Jura milk container is $50+ and is not even toughened glass. If you drop it, it will shatter into lethal shards. The original Jura insulated stainless steel milk container was much better but is discontinued.

This is a large, heavy and very capable machine. Certainly, it is much better that the three previous Jura machines I have owned and might be the best Jura coffee machine currently available, in my opinion.
