per day, per person plus on board expenses. Have been extremely happy with them all. Last one was on the Encounter, Brisbane to Singapore 2023, stayed in Singapore and returned on the Encounter after the refit in dock when the water slide was added. 14 days there, 15 days return and I think it was 19 days between in Singapore. Wonderful holiday, even had COVID when arrived in Singapore, not a problem. Love cruising, many people complain but if you don’t set your expectations too high then you won’t be disappointed.

moment we boarded, the atmosphere was unwelcoming and unpleasant.
Drinks were misleading: when ordering a gin and tonic, they hid the gin bottle behind the counter and served only tonic water.
Food service was unacceptable: nothing was offered until late in the evening, and when food finally arrived, guests were given only a single small piece. Anyone who asked for seconds was told to line up again, and one guest was even threatened with being thrown off the boat for requesting more.
Despite charging us $10,000, the service felt designed to squeeze money out of us rather than provide any hospitality.
This was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. Absolutely ridiculous behavior and treatment. I strongly advise avoiding this company at all costs.

They sent a screenshot of our “signature” made at 3:24pm but we didn’t disembark the boat until after 4:00pm. So dodgy. Do not trust them!

hoping to watch the drone show, but it was cancelled. I called Captain Cook and asked if I could get a refund or rebook my cruise for Sep or October, and they advised me to email them. I did, but never received a reply back. We turned up for the cruise and were surprised by how many people tried to board the ship. The staff did nothing to control the crowd; as a result, many people tried to sneak in, disrespecting those lining up. One of the passengers ( a woman) was pushed from the pedestrian bridge to the ocean! Staff didn't care much, and some passengers pulled her out of the cold water. The boat itself has plenty of open space, plus a few tables and couches. By the time we got in, no seats were available, and the staff were not visible to assist passengers who came last. AS a result, we were standing for 2 hours like horses in the middle of the boat with lots of screaming kids running around. The cruise went from Barangaroo to the Circle que and back. We paid $60 each. We could've caught a fairy to have the same views of Vivid lights, which would cost way less. We will never use Captain cruises again.

Over $12,600 in medical bills on an Australian cruise! I'm writing this review on behalf of a 90 year old Australian pensioner who recently… Read more
travelled on an Australian based cruise with Carnival. The cruise was entirely within Australia. The passenger is too old to be able to obtain health insurance (like many cruise passengers).
This elderly woman presented to the onboard doctor with acute stomach pain. She spent two days in sick bay and had some medical tests done. The cost, just for being in sick bay for 44 hours was $4620. With medical testing, medication and medical evacuation (within Australia by Australian services) the total bill was over $12,600. They even charged her for sandwiches she didn't eat! Before being allowed to leave the ship to escort his wife, her husband, also 90, was pressured to sign a "promissory note" for the cost of treatment and has since been told that if he does not pay on time there will be a $140 PER DAY fee applied.
They were not offered any partial refund on the part of the cruise they were unable to complete, nor any reduction in fees that took this into account.
No opportunity to make payment over time and this couple are pensioners. Had they waited overnight and gone ashore they could have accessed free medical care within Australia.
The couple don't want to speak to the media because they are elderly, and she remains seriously unwell. They DO want other elderly people warned about the potential cost of needing medical treatment on a Carnival cruise, even if they are within Australia. They are now facing significant financial hardship in order to pay the bill. Ironically, this couple are regular cruisers who would have spent more than the amount of this bill over the next few years on cruising, but who will now never cruise again.
Carnival's site warns travellers that medical treatment may be "expensive" and recommends travel insurance, but for those unable to obtain travel insurance the best advice it to avoid cruising and stick with domestic travel within Australia, where you will be able to access our wonderful medical system wherever you go for little or no cost.

ability to sleep, relax and enjoy the holiday we had paid for. We were advised by guest services that it was plumbing repairs. The noise lasted for several nights until we were moved to another cabin, which was not far from our original cabin. To our disappointment the noise was still happening and there was no follow up from guest services. We found the customer service to be below par.
While the issue was acknowledged onboard and compensation was offered in the form of a Future Cruise Credit of only $500 per person, Celebrity Cruises has since refused to consider any alternative resolution despite the extent of the disruption. A future cruise credit is of little value when the experience has been disappointing enough that you no longer wish to sail with the company again. We spent a significant amount of money on what should have been a memorable vacation and instead left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and ultimately unheard.
What has left the worst impression is not just the issue itself, but the way the complaint has been handled afterwards. Celebrity Cruises has apologised for the inconvenience but has shown little willingness to take meaningful responsibility for the impact it had on our holiday. The message Celebrity Cruises sends is that they acknowledges the problem, apologises for it, but are unwilling to take meaningful responsibility for the impact it had on its customers.
Unfortunately, this experience has permanently damaged our confidence in Celebrity Cruises, and we will not be sailing with them again. I would encourage prospective passengers to carefully consider how the company responds when things go wrong, not just the experience they promise when things go right.

infected so many passengers including both my wife and myself with a terrible flu like cold 3 days into the trip. My estimate was that 50% of people came down with this lurgy and some very unwell. This is not the cruise ships fault but people should have been told and the sick people some very ill told to isolate in there cabin. Then we were told we had to disembark this boat halfway through. After packing up and a whole day on a bus arrived to board Polaris. We missed a couple of places we were supposed to visit as a result of this. Well what a joke Staff at reception not very welcoming and many more people we spoke to felt the same. We were made to feel like we were a problem and not welcome. Staff on Vega 10/10 Polaris 5/10. Air conditioning very poor on this boat. We had nearly 3 days of the trip parked up next to other boats with horrible septic smells coming into our cabin. We we unable to stay in our cabin on several occasions because of this and on one day 9hrs sitting in the lounge as a result. The food was ok on both ships and restaurant Staff were great but vega exceptional. If you think cruising is being on board and watching the world go by think again. So many days the top deck was not accessible. You pay and extra $2500 each to get a French balcony cabin well don't bother. Most times you are either looking at a concrete wall or another boat parked next to you. As far as a spa is concerned it is for 2 people and not operating 85% of the time. Travel marvel need to reconsider how Polaris operate. Overall after being sick for most of the trip and the boat swap then the staff and smells issues a disappointing way to spend in excess of $22k On a positive some of the places we got to visit off ship we amazing. The transfer. and moving between boat hotels and airport was great. The hotel in Amsterdam was great but the one in Budapest was disappointing . 2 nights there for $1000 was an absolute rip-off. Overall a disappointing trip.

The glass-bottom boat tour was heaps of fun. The crew shared lots of interesting info about the reef, and we even spotted a turtle swimming right next to the boat.

beverage staff were excellent, we found waiters in the main dining room apathetic about service. Meals were rushed and the food was not great. The Lido buffet was a nightmare...nowhere to sit and food was not presented well and looked unappetising. Our biggest disappointment was the Pinnacle Grill. Whilst the atmosphere was lovely, the food was a disgrace. 3 prawns on a plate with tomato sauce, and a raw (not medium rare as ordered) rack of lamb is NOT 5 star dining. Considering the additional cost of US$52 per person we were more than disappointed. After speaking to the maitre'd we felt we should've been invited back for a complimentary meal. Instead, a plate of chocolate crackles was delivered to our suite! Very poor customer service. Have to mention that our room steward was excellent, as were the room service staff. The band and dance group were very professional and provided some great entertainment. Other entertainers brought on board at various ports were 2nd rate (apart from the Australian magician). We have another cruise booked for January 2027 which I booked before this cruise. Hopefully the Westerdam can redeem the shortfallings of the Noordam.
Based on our experience on the Noordam, we cancelled the cruise in 2027. Not paying $30k for another 2nd rate cruise experience.

Everything was done to a tight budget and every day one could see the staff poring over spreadsheets and costings. We were supposed to have butler service in our suite but we were never told how to contact the butler or what services he/she would provide. The cruise itself was interesting but there were so many other tourists around we didn't feel like we had an individual experience at the places we stopped. Everything was canned tourism. Personally I think APT is overpriced for what it delivers and I wouldn't travel with them again.

They aren't cheap though and starting at about $1600 a night for a cabin, plus the cost of your drinks, it is something we plan on carefully and about every 2 years. We wait til they have a last minute offer. Last couple of times we have been able to get half price deals through a friend now at Clean Cruising who notifies us as soon as they come out and handles the bookings etc for us.
But last time we had about 2 weeks notice so just have to be prepared to take off at short notice & makes them affordable for us anyway.
The fellow passengers are always a good bunch, except when there are media people on board and they tend to take over things but even on this small ship there are plenty of places to chill out. This is a perfectly maintained ship with a very attentive, cheerful crew right down to the bar staff who know your first names and favourite drink from day one. The food is superb, whether fine dining or al fresco BBQ, just get spoilt rotten and we love it! But it IS about the destinations and it is something else to visit a remote island village for the first time ever from a ship of any type.. Too much happening everyday, announcements and briefings and not much time to rest up in between. And it is NOT geared for fishing OR diving except on expensive side trips. Should provide affordable drinks packages as it can quickly blow your budget too.
