to seeing the Sydney Vivid lights. This was a special occasion for many of us, and we had been excited about the experience for weeks.
Unfortunately, after waiting to board, the company chose to let passengers from a previous cruise disembark while leaving our entire group stranded without any communication, updates, or explanation. We were left standing around wondering what was happening, with no staff providing clear information or assistance.
The lack of communication and customer service was completely unacceptable. When people spend their hard-earned money on an event like this, they expect professionalism and respect. Instead, we were left frustrated, disappointed, and feeling completely ignored.
What made the situation even more disappointing was that it was not this company that stepped up to help. The teams from Legend Cruises and Aussie Cruises at least showed some compassion and felt sorry for all of us. They went out of their way to accommodate our group and took us out on one of their boats so that we could still experience the Vivid lights. Without their assistance, the night would have been a complete disaster.
This company should be issuing full refunds to all affected passengers and seriously consider additional compensation for the inconvenience, wasted time, and disappointment caused. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company to others.
Very poor customer service, terrible communication, and a highly disappointing experience.

per day, per person plus on board expenses. Have been extremely happy with them all. Last one was on the Encounter, Brisbane to Singapore 2023, stayed in Singapore and returned on the Encounter after the refit in dock when the water slide was added. 14 days there, 15 days return and I think it was 19 days between in Singapore. Wonderful holiday, even had COVID when arrived in Singapore, not a problem. Love cruising, many people complain but if you don’t set your expectations too high then you won’t be disappointed.

moment we boarded, the atmosphere was unwelcoming and unpleasant.
Drinks were misleading: when ordering a gin and tonic, they hid the gin bottle behind the counter and served only tonic water.
Food service was unacceptable: nothing was offered until late in the evening, and when food finally arrived, guests were given only a single small piece. Anyone who asked for seconds was told to line up again, and one guest was even threatened with being thrown off the boat for requesting more.
Despite charging us $10,000, the service felt designed to squeeze money out of us rather than provide any hospitality.
This was one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. Absolutely ridiculous behavior and treatment. I strongly advise avoiding this company at all costs.

Claimed they showed us the damage when we completed our trip but they be DID NOT. They also claimed we signed to accept the damage when we completed our trip but we DID NOT. They sent a screenshot of our “signature” made at 3:24pm but we didn’t disembark the boat until after 4:00pm. So dodgy. Do not trust them!

year (2026). The food was exactly the same and the staff were good but the cruise was docking back at Darling Harbour at 6.30pm. People were advised to line up to disembark and I was asked to leave my table to line up even though I had not finished my drink. The actual Vivid lights display don't start until 6pm so we saw approximately 15 mins of lights around Circular Quay before starting the move around to Darling Harbour. I asked staff why the cruise was only 1.5hrs but they said that it was the Captain's decision and that I would need to send an email to the company. I pointed out that Google AI described the cruise as a 2 hour cruise and the Captain Cook Website describes it as up to 2 hrs. However the same boat had another vivid cruise leaving at 7pm which meant that those new passengers had to be on the boat well before disembarking. There was never going to be a cruise of near 2 hours. I believe last year the cruise went for about 1.75 hours.

experience thus far has been horrendous. Upon arrival in our cabin, we smelled a faint odor, but assumed it was stagnant water in the port. Over the next 2-3 days, the stench intensified into a foul, nauseating, and overwhelming odor that interfered with our ability to sleep or to enjoy any time in our cabin as we were not only nauseated by the stench but also experienced headaches with prolonged time in the cabin.
Despite reports to the guest services desk, they did little more than run water in our shower (this was not the source of the smell, which seemed to be emanating from the actual stateroom air vents). This did nothing to resolve the issue which continued to worsen over time. A similar stench is present in other parts of the ship, such as the Princess theater, indicating that this is a larger problem.
In the end, guest services offered us a $150 cruise credit for FUTURE cruises or a $50 on onboard credit for our " inconvenience." This just added insult to injury as we had spent ~$17K for 2 balcony cabins and they made it clear they had no intention of making things right and only made insincere, token gestures that in the end were intended to placate us and keep our money one way or another.
While this may seem like a minor annoyance for some passengers, we are frustrated with spending ~$17K on a "luxury cruise" that turned out to be akin to sleeping in the sewer system ( I won't even get into the broken equipment in the stateroom, aging ship, leaking ceiling in the lounge, etc.).
While the waiters, stateroom attendents, amd other personell have been lovely, the overall experience has been disappointing to say the least. This cruise line does not value its customers. It appears to target the masses, promising them an upscale experience, while delivering a mediocre product. It is essentially the Applebees of cruise lines.
As professionals/ physicians in our 50's, closing in on retirement, you would think we would be a target demographic for a " luxury cruise line" as we would be purchasing cruises for years to come for ourselves, our aging parents, and our children. Instead, Princess opted to make a quick buck on us instead of investing in a proper customer service experience, a long term relationship, developing customers loyalty, and earning hundreds of thousands of dollars of our business over the next several decades. Not a smart business move as we will be taking our money elsewhere.
We understand that issues can arise in any industry, but how a service provider resolves those issues speaks volumes about the company and their leadership, as well as what they think of their clientele.
If you value a quality a quality experience, this cruise line should be avoided.

not book them again in the future. Staff at Casino are rude and are racist especially [Name Removed] and [Name Removed]. I went second day at the poker table and the female dealer couldn’t be bothered and actually said she is over it .Bar staff make their own rules person to person. I had full alcohol package and to get bottle of water after a drink you have to wait ten minutes. Doesn’t make sense. Bar usually runs out of salt or other ingredients to make cocktails and mocktails . The whole trip was under staffed , people on duty were grumpy and just couldn’t be bothered to provide any sort of customer service. Even the guy with mop at the pools yell at you if you walk to get your towels . Two days at the end weather was bad so they had to close pools and other outdoor activities for safety reasons but no alternative entertainment was provided so people were just stuck in cabins . In the buffet area there is may be 2 staff looking after more than 500 people. The only one good thing we found on this cruise was staff at the gold pearl Restaurant table 533. team leaders name was [Name Removed] I think . The food and service at this one restaurant was exceptional and the house keeping guys are awesome. Our kids loved the towels animal made everyday by house keeping dude . We went on Royal Caribbean cruise two years ago and carnival is at 25% of that at every aspect whether it’s staff, service or entertainment. Royal Caribbeans motto is PLEASE BOOK US AGAIN and Carnival motto is DO NOT BOOK US AGAIN so we are a group of 35 friends and will be booking Royal Caribbean next year. There is nothing to do for kids apart from a small water park. I mean nothing unless you want to drop them at onboard child care system even there if kids age gap is more than 3 years they can’t be in one area. Staff and food at Masala Tiger is also awesome. The after dinner parties at the pool area are fantastic. DJ guys are awesome. What frustrates me that the cruise itself has all the infrastructure available just the behaviour of staff / couldn’t be bothered attitude kills the vibe . It is just not planned properly.

high-tech, stunning ship at sea. It doesn't even feel like a cruise; it feels like a luxury urban hotel that just happens to be moving.
The Spaces: The Magic Carpet is insane—it’s a tangerine platform that hangs off the side and moves between decks. One minute it’s a luxury lounge, and the next it’s a sky-high restaurant with the best views in the world. Then there’s Eden, which is like a giant three-story garden library by day and turns into a crazy performance space at night with aerialists and live music.
The Pool & Outdoors: The Resort Deck is completely different from other ships. The pool is huge (25 yards!) and faces outwards so you’re always looking at the ocean. You have to see the Martini Hot Tubs—they look like giant glasses and glow at night. The Rooftop Garden is also a vibe; it's full of real plants and is the best spot for a movie under the stars or just chilling.
Food & Fun: The food is actually 10/10. There are 4 different main restaurants (Tuscan, Cyprus, Normandie, and Cosmopolitan), each with its own theme. You can't miss the Martini Bar in the Grand Plaza—the bartenders do gravity-defying shows with the shakers and the giant chandelier syncs its lights to the music. I loved the pizzas!!
The Best Crew: A massive shout-out to The Basement youth counselors, Flor and Yuliya. They are the absolute best and made the teen club feel like a real hangout with gaming tournaments and zero stress. They gave free souvenirs, absolute banger!!! I'm stuck at my school desk right now and it’s a total Bruh moment. I’d give anything to be back in an Infinite Veranda room, hitting that button to open the window and watching the ocean. If you’re in Sydney, book a long trip on this ship. You won’t want to leave."

The glass-bottom boat tour was heaps of fun. The crew shared lots of interesting info about the reef, and we even spotted a turtle swimming right next to the boat.

beverage staff were excellent, we found waiters in the main dining room apathetic about service. Meals were rushed and the food was not great. The Lido buffet was a nightmare...nowhere to sit and food was not presented well and looked unappetising. Our biggest disappointment was the Pinnacle Grill. Whilst the atmosphere was lovely, the food was a disgrace. 3 prawns on a plate with tomato sauce, and a raw (not medium rare as ordered) rack of lamb is NOT 5 star dining. Considering the additional cost of US$52 per person we were more than disappointed. After speaking to the maitre'd we felt we should've been invited back for a complimentary meal. Instead, a plate of chocolate crackles was delivered to our suite! Very poor customer service. Have to mention that our room steward was excellent, as were the room service staff. The band and dance group were very professional and provided some great entertainment. Other entertainers brought on board at various ports were 2nd rate (apart from the Australian magician). We have another cruise booked for January 2027 which I booked before this cruise. Hopefully the Westerdam can redeem the shortfallings of the Noordam.
Based on our experience on the Noordam, we cancelled the cruise in 2027. Not paying $30k for another 2nd rate cruise experience.

advertising material provided by APT. The meals were basic and mostly tasted like they were pre-prepared meals; reheated when required. Everything was done to a tight budget and every day one could see the staff poring over spreadsheets and costings. We were supposed to have butler service in our suite but we were never told how to contact the butler or what services he/she would provide. The cruise itself was interesting but there were so many other tourists around we didn't feel like we had an individual experience at the places we stopped. Everything was canned tourism. Personally I think APT is overpriced for what it delivers and I wouldn't travel with them again.

aspects were exceptionally good. Since then we have been on several more, through the Solomons and on her sister ship to Borneo - all unforgettable experiences.
They aren't cheap though and starting at about $1600 a night for a cabin, plus the cost of your drinks, it is something we plan on carefully and about every 2 years. We wait til they have a last minute offer. Last couple of times we have been able to get half price deals through a friend now at Clean Cruising who notifies us as soon as they come out and handles the bookings etc for us.
But last time we had about 2 weeks notice so just have to be prepared to take off at short notice & makes them affordable for us anyway.
The fellow passengers are always a good bunch, except when there are media people on board and they tend to take over things but even on this small ship there are plenty of places to chill out. This is a perfectly maintained ship with a very attentive, cheerful crew right down to the bar staff who know your first names and favourite drink from day one. The food is superb, whether fine dining or al fresco BBQ, just get spoilt rotten and we love it! But it IS about the destinations and it is something else to visit a remote island village for the first time ever from a ship of any type.. Too much happening everyday, announcements and briefings and not much time to rest up in between. And it is NOT geared for fishing OR diving except on expensive side trips. Should provide affordable drinks packages as it can quickly blow your budget too.
