Not great with E85 – Doesnt seem to last long for the money spent . When fresh was a good oil, after a few kms engine noises popped up after engine was warm. Went back to penrite back to normal. Changing oil in the same intervals. Show details

different lid and also a new foil deal under the cap. When I broke the seal I noticed that the oil didn't have the usual smell. Did the oil change and immediately noticed that the engine wasn't revving as freely. Checked the dipstick and noticed that the oil was very sticky which seemed odd. Found out later from shop I bought it from that penrite hpr30 has a new formula for high mileage engines. Seems to me like it's just full of cheap butt stop-smoke now. Hilariously it used more oil than the previous old formula oil. Was considering dropping penrite altogether but found 15/50 penrite synthetic on special so gave it a try. Surprisingly very happy, engine not burning a drop of oil now.
I highly recommend this oil! – I bought my 2005 corolla wagon in 2009 when it was 4 years old and done 117,000 km. I've used Castrol Magnatec 10W40 in my car the whole time and… Read more
it's now 2022 and the car has done 345,000 but still runs as good as the day I got it! It has had no loss of power and it's fuel economy is still as good as ever! I religiously change my oil every 3 months or 5,000km as it states on the bottle, I also change the oil filter at the same time. I can use the more expensive Castrol Edge 5W30 and leave it oil changes for every 10,000kms but I still prefer to use the cheaper Magnatec and change the oil more often as I feel it is better for the car.

On to a 1967 Ford F-100, 240 C.I. long stroke with NP truck transmission - drove it like a diesel through mud, rocks and amazing hill climbs on Mobile 1 with no oil burning and perfect performance. When living in Canada I drove a 2014 Ford Explorer for 290,000 miles, sometimes many days at -40 degrees without a hitch on Mobile 1, even without plugging in the engine heater. So repco had castrol edge on special for $ 40 a bottle and it made big change in fuel users and was 650..km around town. And 850 km on. Open road and very happy with d products . I have been use from XL , GTX to edge. So there was some bad stories of GTX in 80s. The car dealer were charging the oil at 1500km at make money at when the had run in oil to bed the rings in. So most were use castrol XL as not friction modified oil . So changing oil at 1500 cases the bore of to glaze there bore and use oil because needed friction to brake the motor in right. It was Japanese cars, as manuals told you not sitting on one speed at all times . They were days you had run in, some still do for new types of auto transmission castrol is company that doesn't say one oil sures all as some do. That why most oils don't put friction modified on labels. So read you hand book on year new car or second hand car for right oil specific. After using the wrong oil, I contacted Penrite to find out the differences and how these differences impacted my transmission. It is very worrying that they did not know the differences or the effect of various components in the oil. I friend told me that Penrite simply purchase other brands of oil and simply duplicate it without knowing what the various components do. I do not know whether this is true or not. However, their responses to simple questions raise questions

viscosity at real-world temperatures that actually matter (like an Australian Winter cold start at freezing point) is far more relevant to me than the published figures on their website of - 30 degrees centigrade and 40 degrees centigrade (the former never relevant and the latter temperature too high for the first critical moments during a Winter cold start). So previously, Penrite were more than happy to provide these extra figures (which in turn caused me to change from one of their 0W products to a 5W one as the 5W flowed better at freezing point than the 0W one did). But apparently not so nowadays. A recent query of mine asking the same question for the Ten Tenths 0W-20 oil and several other Penrite oils for comparison, the response received was: "No, this info is not determined.Cheers Penrite Tech Support". And it was CC'd to "All Penrite Tech".
Well if asking such a simple question is too difficult for Penrite then I will go elsewhere. There are plenty of good oil companies around these days but what used to make Penrite stand out in my experience was the whole Australian thing and their previously great customer service. But after a reply like that, CC'd to (apparently) all of their tech people (what, so they can have a laugh at the expense of their customers or something??), then I will be spending my hard earned money elsewhere.
Other oil companies are very transparent and detailed in their technical enquiries and Penrite used to be as well. Not any more apparently if my experience was typical.

the operation was getting a little rough. Replacing the fluid with the Penrite DCT made it smooth again. I have done 20k kms since the DCT oil change and the transmission is faultless. My honest opinion is that Any car with Dual Clutch should have their oil replaced at 45k kms, which is 1 service sooner if it is driven a lot in traffic. At 60k, the oil was solid black (not even a little bit see through), hence why I suppose my shifts were getting rough at around 55k kms.
My conclusion is that Penrite DCT was value for money and well suited for my car.

in the line up are known as sludge machines, so this was the perfect candidate to use this oil & find out what truely happens. So the service was done on September 20th. So far to date, the engine has been running on this oil for 9,020kms. First service was done at 8,020kms & in this time, oil filters were changed at 1,000, 2,500 & 5,000kms. The oil was getting darker from the get go but the engine was also picking up smoothness, quietness & responsiveness which was fantastic. First pic is filter after 1,000kms, second is the thick black gunk from the filter, third is filter at 2,500kms, fourth is oil filter housing at 5,000kms (nasty) & fifth is putting through 15 micron filter bag & sixth is through a 0.5 micron filter bag. If you go down this path, awesome, but be smart in the process. Change/drain oil at 7,500kms or 10,000kms or somewhere in between. Do not waste your time, your money & the oils high cleaning abilities by changing it way way too quick like many others do & change after 500kms or 1,000kms, its just pointless & st^pid! You gain nothing by doing this. By all means, change the filters but leave the oil. Give the engine some high speed & high heat driving & the oil will get to work on the cleaning efficiency. Every engine benefits from this oil, all V engines, straight/inline engines as well as the Subaru horizontal engines.

I sought out a lubricant to make it smoother - and this is where Nulon really came into its own. You add the entire contents of the Nulon tube and then fill to the specified level with the regular transmission oil, in this case, I used Penrite Trans Gear 75W - 80.
It wasn't an immediate fix, but over the next 100 km or so, shifting became much smoother - to the point where most of the shifts are near perfect. Occasionally a 4th - 5th shift may still play up, but I'm extremely happy with it now in comparison to what it used to be like.

especially after I used a slightly thinner engine oil that was on special. My wife was not happy. I was desperate and decided to try this stuff, despite being skeptical. As such I decided to only put in a small amount (125 ml of the 500 ml bottle) just to test it to see if it makes any difference. It totally stopped the smoke. WOW, I still find it hard to believe how well this worked. I’m a mechanical engineer, and do most of the maintenance on our cars; with absolutely no affiliations with NULON, or any one else. In fact I was going to try another brand, but my local AutoOne store only carried this product. Anyway, it immediately stopped pouring out copious amounts of smoke. I’m a bit flabbergasted as I’m not into oil additives and never have been for many decades. Totally took me by surprise. This stuff totally exceeded my expectations by a mile. This is the most amazing product I’ve come across in many decades of motoring.

After the failure, I contacted the company and dealt with their so-called general manager, [Name Removed] – and let me tell you, he is as dodgy as they come. After weeks of going back and forth, we agreed they would send a technician to take an oil sample to determine the cause of the failure. I even agreed to pay for the test if it turned out the stabilizer wasn’t the cause.
However, when I asked for the technician’s credentials, [Name Removed] completely ignored my request. Weeks later, they finally sent someone – an auto electrician, who had no qualifications or ability to assess internal engine damage or oil viscosity issues. Completely incompetent for the task at hand.
This felt calculated. I believe [Name Removed] deliberately tried to dodge responsibility and manipulate the situation to avoid accountability. I will be attaching the so-called “report” from their unqualified electrician so you can see how they tried to cover it up.
I have now lodged a formal complaint with the ACCC and included all conversations between myself and [Name Removed] (aka “[Name Removed]”). Screenshots of our exchanges will also be posted with this review to show just how unprofessional and dishonest this company really is.

product that it is suitable for something, that the consumer-protection-agencies would have checked that, so that I could rely on it - but sadly not. I bought 40L of Nulon ATF (for 2 cars), and after just having filled it into the car, I have found out in very long Jaguar Forum discussions, that this ATF could potentially damage my transmission, and that Nulon's claims that their ATF could be used ilo. "Lifeguard 6" are definitely wrong. I wrote all those technical details to Nulon with a complaint regarding the unsuitability of their ATF to Nulon about 1 week ago – but no reply at all. If they were convinced that their product is legit, they would have defended their product – but they know exactly…
And here are the facts and details:
The Jaguar S-Type 2002 - 2008 has the transmission ZF 6hp26. ZF recommends to use Lifeguard 6 (on page 4): https://aftermarket.zf.com/remotemedia/lol-lubricants/lol-en/lol-te-ml-11-en.pdf
And this is the MSDS (Material safety data sheet) for Lifeguard 6:
https://aftermarket.zf.com/remotemedia/master-content/zf-services-portal/oils-data-sheets/pc-1/lifeguardfluid-6/msds-zf-lifeguardfluid-6-aus-20190219.pdf
One of the more important parameters is the kinematic viscosity at 40 and at 100°C (call it KV40 / KV100): it's KV40 = 26.8 / KV100 = 5.6 and this is 100% in line with Shell spec m-1375.4, and this ATF has been designed very specifically by ZF Friedrichshafen for this transmission.
Now Nulon comes along and they claim that their ATF can substitute 50 (!) other ATFs. See that claim at: https://www.nulon.com.au/products/auto-trans-fluid/automatic-transmission-fluids/full-synthetic-multi-vehicle-automatic-transmission-fluid
As I did not know better, before having been enlightened at the Jaguar Forum, I believed that!
That link also says Nulon ATF KV40 = 33.4 / KV100 = 7. Interestingly, the Nulon MSDS claims something else altogether: Page 4 in the link below: KV40 = 37.
https://www.nulon.com.au/images/products/files/sds/full-synthetic-multi-vehicle-automatic-transmission-fluid_sds.pdf
This shows, that Nulon does not even have too much of an idea themselves, what the KV of their own product is - so there is not much point in paying any attention to Nulon's claims regarding suitability of their product...
So Nulon's ATF is way too "thick", or to put it technically: high viscosity fluids move sluggishly and resist deformation, which means using Nulon ilo. Lifeguard 6 heats up the transmission excessively - with a great potential to do damage.
Nulon claims there as well, that their ATF can replace both: Lifeguard 5 and 6. You can see the KV of Lifeguard 6 above, and the for Lifeguard 5 it is: KV40 = 37. Lifeguard 5 and 6 are obviously totally different ATFs, designed to totally different specifications! If Nulon claims that their ATF can replace both of them, you have proof (again) that everything they claim has no meaning at all.
Obviously, Nulon risks damage to the cars of the customers. This is highly dangerous, too. And in the world, where I live in, I also cannot see, how that can be legal.
