have offered me a pro rata price in a new freezer but at $1100 and a 4 week wait for delivery (after already waiting 2 weeks for service and an outcome) is not good enough. I specifically bought Westinghouse as it is meant to be a reliable brand. Spending almost $2000 on a freezer should last longer than 6yrs. I don't think I will pay $1100 for a replacement as why would I trust it again, I see others have had similar issues with it failing just outside warranty. Maybe I'm better off spending under $1000 on a Hisense. Apparently the brand Westinghouse doesn't mean quality anymore.

out and tell me that they’re only built to last that long and 90% need to be replaced once they stop working and can’t be fixed. Wish someone had told me when I booked the service, I could’ve saved $145. Also said none of them are designed to last longer so just as good to get a cheap one instead of a more expensive one.

Good fridge, stylish, works well – My second F&P fridge, bought in between lockdowns nearly 3 years ago after I bought my new place at auction. As most whiteware were 3 months on back… Read more

order, I had to get whatever was available. Fortunately this one was already within the country. While I wanted a simple 372L in white with no handle, this one had stainless steel, 402L and sleek handles, but being the same width, it would fit the space in the kitchen.

Nearly three years now, and compared to my first F&P (which lasted me 20 years until I gave it away), this one is much more energy efficient, and unlike the other one, does not make those loud noises that sound like someone was breaking into my flat. Quieter, definitely.

I was initially concerned that this fridge used a Chinese-made compressor (F&P has been owned by Haier since around 2016) instead of the Embraco compressor that my first one had. No regrets though. The fridge hasn't given any problem or grief, and although it is merely around 2" wider than smaller fridges that are around 600mm, the inside actually has very usable space - it is wider and at the same time deeper.

The interior light is perfectly bright (LED) but - my preference - I would rather it have been in warm white, instead of cold white, which feels more industrial. Design-wise, the exterior certainly looks more timeless and certainly does not look like a cheap option. These fridges are also sold in the US for nearly twice what I bought it for (heavily discounted, at Noel Leeming in Wairau Park, Glenfield). I hope this fridge is as good as the last one was.

awkwardly?). The freezer gained a slow ice formation around the top left seal, which had to be intermittently removed. The light on the lid was so bright that we had to put tape over half of it so that we didn't get blinded every time we opened the freezer! regular meal deliveries.

It was ordered on a Sunday and delivered the very next day at lunchtime!

Installation was simple of course; unpack it, move to position, adjust the levelling feet and plug it in. For a while I thought it wasn't working as there was no sound (the Whirlpool is the noisiest fridge I've ever known though it's worked reliably for sixteen years now). However, placing a sensor inside showed it was indeed cooling the interior so I set it to max and left it for a few hours and it reached -24C on the digital meter.

I loaded it up and stepped the thermostat down till it hovered around -18C - job done. The virtually soundless operation and drawer configuration make it easy to live with and to find everything - beats a chest freezer where stuff can lie in the bottom for years!!!

The price and prompt delivery from WInning Appliances and the additional discount refund because it dropped in price the day after I purchased makes us, and them, a winner!

Wish I had room for a third – When my expensive new upright freezer stopped working the day before I had a bulk meat delivery booked, I was in a panic. I bought the only freezer… Read more

Harvey Norman had in stock that would fit through our narrow doorway while I waited 2 months for the upright to be repaired. It ended up being a good thing. The Hisense chest freezer is actually a hybrid, so it can be switched from freezer to fridge easily with the dial on the front. When the upright was finally fixed we used the Hisense as a second fridge and stored extra milk etc as we are out in the country and to save the 2 hour drive to get groceries. What a fantastic little machine. Very roomy with a convenient basket for small items like chocolates being hidden from the kids which I just take out when I don’t need it. It’s got a plug at the bottom to drain liquid so I can clean it out quickly, but it doesn’t really ice over so a wipe with a hand towel is sufficient. I especially like that it’s got a light on the front so I can assure myself that it’s on and working! The upright conked out without me knowing for several days. So when the replacement upright freezer went kaput with the next brown out, I told Harvey Norman straight out that I’m not interested in having it repaired or replaced. I or changed it for a second Hisense hybrid chest freezer. If I had room I’d get a third one! They are both full of frozen meat, bread, veggies, and a box of prawns ready for Christmas. Once one is emptied we will switch it to refrigerate mode and put beer, extras, and water bottles in it over the summer. I really can’t rave about these little freezers enough. 4 star energy rating so barely noticeable on the power bill and together they cost less than the upright freezer I started out with. Both chest freezers have survived numerous brown outs and blackouts without issue, but I’ve since put them both on surge protectors just in case. I am very happy with this purchase. 100% would recommend.

cooling is very even, no freezing of vegetables, no frost build up, very quiet and still looks new, brush SS finish. Paid $1100 NZD NOTE: today I discovered when cleaning behind the fridge that the compressor and a fan are enclosed behind a small removable panel. Looking inside I instantly saw that there was a buildup of dust over the two grills that lead to the fan and radiator, so I cleaned them with a brush, vacuum, and even my compressed air. This needs to be done annually people, or the compressor will become very inefficient. One copper pipe joint had corrosion on it, which may indicate a leak?? So I wire brushed it and covered it in JB Weld epoxy to be sure it won't leak. So I am happy with the fridge and I wanted to share this maintenance advice, remove dust from grill, or even remove the grill entirely

I have standard Nissan Patrol battery, non deep cycle. So I guess it will run for 3 or more days without charging a battery. Recently I took it to trip to Sydney-Jindabyne-Merimbula. Each place 36h in a car without running a car or charging battery, in Merimbula 48h in a car then drive for 100km and back, and again 48h in a car without running a car or charging battery.

2 or 3 days running on one battery is all I need. I bush camping, with longer stays, I have 240W solar panel.

compressor really kicks in, it gets much louder and is a bit annoying for several hours, but that's occasional and not a problem for us. It seems very well made and was easily installed. Given all these great, difficult-to-achieve features, I cannot understand why so little thought has been given to the end user on such a good quality freezer. It would take very little effort to improve this freezer to be a 5-star appliance. Firstly, I stand over 6 feet tall and find it difficult to access the top two drawers. Why not lift up panels as our old 2008 model Fisher and Paykel freezer had? These top 2 drawers are awkward to use at best and would be unusable to many at worst. ...and why no ice storage? How hard can that be? In a previous review from another reviewer who complained about the lack of ice storage, it was suggested by the Andi-Co rep that they were "disappointed with the poor review based solely on your personal household needs". Aren't a customer's personal household needs the reason that these products are made in the first place? Customer reviews give manufacturers free market research and should be appreciated. Failure to do so will only result in products that disappoint customers who will then give poor reviews! Regarding the lack of ice storage, it was suggested that "We encourage all potential Liebherr customers to research the range of side by side appliances before making a purchase." We did! We had intended getting another model with ice-maker, but missed the fact that all models with an ice-maker needed to be plumbed in. Why did we miss this? This very important detail was buried in the fine print of the Liebherr brochure and not visible in store. It was only when I progressed to installation instructions that I found it. So, after planning our kitchen around a Liebherr fridge/freezer of this size, once we finally found this detail, we had no option but to buy this model or install a freezer with an ice maker that would not function as plumbing in was not a practical option for us. Why can't the ice makers in the other models be topped up manually? Why is such an important detail buried in the fine print? This very important fact should be highlighted! It really is a case of all or nothing and buyers of this model get nothing when it comes to ice. How hard would it be to have ice storage incorporated into this freezer? Here's an idea: how about replacing the near-useless top 2 drawers with ice storage, or better, an ice-maker that can be manually filled? Don't blame your customers for bad reviews - you'll get good reviews when you get it right!
