turned the machine on, observed the leak and told us the drum was cracked and allegedly caused by a “foreign object”, therefore it wasn’t covered under warranty. No foreign object was identified or produced, and we were provided with no evidence demonstrating how they determined customer misuse was the cause. We were then charged $220 for the visit.

We escalated the matter directly with Samsung and the claim was rejected. We then went through Harvey Norman, who lodged another claim with Samsung on our behalf, which Samsung also rejected.

Extremely disappointing experience for an expensive appliance only 16 months old. We are now taking the matter to Consumer Affairs Victoria and seeking a remedy under Australian Consumer Law.

refused to accept responsibility, claiming it is not a manufacturing fault and refusing to cover the $250 repair cost.

A washing machine should last considerably longer than 15 months without the rubber seal failing. Under Australian Consumer Law, products must meet acceptable standards of quality and durability. I strongly believe this product has failed to meet those standards.

I am now having to fight Samsung to recover the cost of a repair that I believe should have been covered in the first place.

Very poor experience. I expected much better quality and accountability from a major brand like Samsung. I would seriously reconsider purchasing Samsung appliances again.
