Okay products, but very poor and inflexible customer service when something goes wrong, so be careful when placing any orders!

buy the airtrait again. It's basically a hairdryer but you don't need a brush. Comes out soft and smooth. You don't need to put in as much effort as you would when using any other hair dryer and a brush. I even stopped using my airwrap which I thought would be easy to use. The best tip I have for 3b hair is stick to small sections. I sleep with my hair wrapped and it looks great the next day. I only straighten the front of my hair with a hair straightener to make it look better in the morning. I also have a suspicion that my hair isn't getting as oily so I don't need to use it as often.

washing and drying process. The duet gets my hair straight from damp - no need to wrestle with a round brush and blowdryer first. The only problem I find is because its plates are widely set, it leaves my hair looking a little blunt at the ends (even when I change the setting to shine shot), so I usually finish off with a regular straightener to tidy it up.

awful. Sadly, I relied on those five star reviews when I decided to purchase this product as you cannot try before you buy. I felt comfortable buying the AirWrap with the piece of mind knowing it came with a 45 day money back guarantee if I did not like the product. I returned the product directly to a Dyson Service Centre two days after I received my purchase because I was extremely disappointed and sought the money back guarantee. It was there that I was informed my product is not eligible for a refund under the 45 day money back guarantee because it was personalised with my initials. I should clarify that the product itself does not have this personalisation on it, only the storage box it comes in. I was not aware of this at the time of purchase, and what is extremely concerning is that when you buy the product via the Dyson website, the purchase process encourages you to do the personalisation. With the benefit of hindsight this now seems like a clever form of marketing and entrapment on Dyson’s part. I have tried to contact Dyson to raise a formal complaint. I’ve tried via phone but gave up after 1 hour of being on hold. I then requested via their Messenger account (which is accessed via their website) to advise me of their complaints process and who I should contact, I’ve had no response after three days. The service representative at the Dyson Service Centre told me I would be contacted as I requested a partial refund to deduct whatever the value of the storage box is - two weeks on, that contact still hasn’t happened either. All I am seeking as resolution is either a partial refund or to swap it over for the Dyson hairdryer. As it stands, it is now two weeks of me going back and forth and Dyson are still in possession of my returned product! So I now have no product, no refund and no resolution of any sort! Considering it is such a ‘high end’ product at an extremely expensive price point, I expected a better product not to mention better service. I believe I am being fair and reasonable in my expectations and I have been left with no choice now but to escalate my issue with the consumer complaints commission.

hair with the halo Marilyn and I loved the curl. I have neck/chin length choppy edgy bob and my hair has a natural curl but gets frizzy easy. I can use the halo and it tames the curl nicely. The lady in the shop strongly suggested a heat styling product which cost $30 to spray in my hair before curling, to protect from heat and help the curl hold its shape. I can control the size curl depending on whether I curl in small or large sections. I wouldn't consider myself a pro on hair stuff, I don't spend alot of time getting hair or make-up perfect. This curler is quick, heats up quick, just the 1 temp (bloody hot!) And turns off itself if I forget. Easy!
The hype was overrated – As a professional bridal makeup artist, I have use multiple styling tools before and I got to say this was kind of disappointing for the price point.… Read more
The heat is low so ideal for sensitive skin and hair but I find for a professional finish, the curls don't hold. I end up using my iron curler or hair straightener instead.
I really like the idea of the multiple attachments. It does make blow drying easier as there's a built in brush. The firm brush is never used, the hair dryer attachment is great but takes longer for my hair to dry but I guess it's less damage especially when I wash and dry my hair daily. As for the airwrap function I only used it twice over the past 9 months...so is it worth it? Also the attachment wasn't for long hair. I can buy it for another $90+...
Overall, I guess if you want to style your hair and worry about burning yourself on curling tongs it is a good option but for $900+ I don't think so unless if you have money to blow. When it is on sale, it's approximately $697 which makes it a bit more reasonable.
Love it – Only used it once so far, but shocked that a $30 wand works so well! Glad I didn't waste money on a exxy product when this is perfect for my needs. … Read more
And if your wondering like I did, I much prefer this type to the wands that clamp onto your hair. Can do be chunks of hair or smaller ones. Definitely glad I now have this in my cupboard!
Silver Bullet Genesis Hot Air Brush
- Plate MaterialCeramic and Tourmaline-Coated
Easy to use – I'm an older person and find it cumbersome to use a blowdryer. My hairdresser suggested I try a hot air brush. I find it quite easy to use, I can do it with one hand and it doesn't get too hot. It can be used on wet or dry hair too
Types of Hair Stylers
Curling tongs
Also called curling irons, these styling appliances (pictured, above) are designed with a lever and a clamp, so you can securely place sections of hair inside the clamp to stop it unravelling. Since curls are wound tightly in their clamped position, they produce ringlet-style curls that are generally more tight and polished. If you prefer the ease of use that curling tongs offer, but prefer looser curls, you can opt for tongs with a larger barrel size.
Curling wands
Wands are designed with a cone-shaped heating element that tapers off at the end. To use them, you manually wrap a section of hair around the barrel. You can spread the hair section out over the length of the barrel with lots of gaps for a looser curl, or wind it up in a tight spiral for a more springy curl that looks more like ringlets.
Either way, keep a firm grip on the end of your hair section. If it's held too loose, you might accidentally let go, or the curl won't have any definition or body. When you're using a curling wand, your hand will be close to the heating element virtually at all times, so wear a heat-protecting glove.
Automatic curlers
These may appeal to you if you find using a curling wand or tong to create manual curls fiddly or stressful. An automatic curler will let you insert a section of hair into a designated part of the appliance, press a button, and wait while the machine does the work for you by crafting a curl. Often curl settings allow you to select how loose or tight the curl will end up.
Flat irons used for curling
Some straighteners are also purpose-built for curling, or adding volume in the form of waves or looser curls. These flat irons will have a rounded top, as well as a swivel cord, so you can twist them in accordance with the motion of the curl you’re creating.
Creating curls using a flat iron is trickier than using a styler specifically designed for curling. However, if you’re deft with your home hair appliances, or willing to learn, a curl-friendly flat iron may save you some cash as you’ll be buying one appliance, not two.
Hair dryer brushes
These are essentially round barrel bristle brushes that incorporate a heating element. They allow you to style your hair as it dries, to infuse a bit of volume. This basically saves you the hassle of juggling a hair dryer in one hand and a round styling brush in the other; incorporating two useful hair styling products into one appliance.
Some styling brushes, like the Hairstyla HSS200, also work as hair straighteners, which simultaneously straighten and smooth hair as you brush it.
All-in-one hair stylers
All-in-one hair stylers can perform a variety of hair styling functions. For example, the Dyson Airwrap can blow-dry, straighten, add waves or curl hair. Just keep in mind that the more functions a hair styler is equipped with, the more expensive it's likely to be.
