Breville Citrus Press Pro 800CP
Best juicer, pity about the removable press failing after c 300 squeezes – I have owned this juicer for approximately 12 months, The machine has suburb qualities, a c 5-8 second squeeze gets all the juice, and most… Read more
importantly a very quiet low pitch motor. The Stainless steel construction is excellent and solid on the bench top. The leverage on the overhand lever is an excellent idea and multiplies the downwards pressure of the squeezing cup. I use the juicer daily and sometime bi- daily . However the most important failing , which negates 100% of the worth of this c$300 machine, is the plastic/metal press cup. The plastic ring which locks into the lever arm gets worn fast and the cup fails to stay in the lever arm.

somehow failed. This new model operates very similarly to the previous one. I use it mainly to make apple juice from our abundant crop of apples each year. It does the job OK, but the juice does get a thick layer of foam on top which is not tasty and must be discarded. The juice also oxidizes quickly in spite of adding lemon juice trying to prevent this. One flaw in the design is the outlet for the apple pulp. It is shaped with an elbow to direct the pulp downwards into a container. Unfortunately, since the pulp is sticky, it accumulates at the elbow, and so the juicer needs to be stopped regularly and taken apart in order to remove the pulp from the elbow.

quiet so I can make my favourite juice in the morning whilst my family are sleeping (no grumpy bears waking up) Powerful motor so I can easily juice both soft and hard fruits or veggies. Comes with a nozzle so you can juice straight into a glass, and a jug for juicing a larger quantity. So easy to clean, comes with cleaning brush. Little pricy, but does an amazing job. Keep an eye out for when it’s on special.

Ginger & Turmeric. Topped, tailed & cut into smaller pieces, the carrots first & then cored the apples while keeping the skin on both plus skin left on Ginger & Turmeric. WOW! Quicker, easier & cleaner than trying to use a blender. Made 2 full cups of juice. Easy enough to clean although the blade plate collected minute/small pieces of skin between the stainless steel blade plate where it is seated inside the filter basket assembly (ie: on its outer edge). A little foam was transferred into the jug but it still tasted great with no heat transfer. A little staining occurred on the plastic from the carrot & turmeric but a good wash in soapy water removed it from all the parts but wouldn't want to leave that mix on any of the parts for too long. Can't find a Serial Number anywhere on the box, under the base or in the documentation, which is strange.

daily - to blend personal smoothies incorporating 1/2-one medium apple or a small carrot. Why? Because the blender jug is super easy to clean. A quick rinse out with hot water and a drop of dish soap is often enough. Or use the Auto-clean function for a deeper clean every couple of days - be very careful not to use too much dish soap.
With the powerful blender, I get nice smooth smoothies that retain all the valuable gut-friendly fibre that the juicer filters out. To my go-to base of either peeled apple slices OR chopped unpeeled small carrot, I usually add raw nuts (e.g. 2 macadamias or 4 almonds), a teaspoon or 2 of sunflower & pepita seeds, a tablespoon of oats, and some soft fruit (blueberries, grapes, strawberries etc), cover the lot with a liquid (soy milk, coconut water, milk etc), secure the blender lid and hit the Smoothie program. ***WARNING: secure blender lid over the top AND spout…or you’ll be very, very sorry.

I’d been mulling over getting juicer - masticating or centrifugal? - for a long time, researched and watched a fair amount of videos. The bluicer ticks my top 4 “must haves” - a big feeding tube for as little prep as possible, powerful motor, easy to wash, cold & fast juice. The bluicer delivered. The blender is a bonus. It is, however, on the pricey side.
I wanted a juicer mainly for carrots and apples, and the bluicer juices this combination pretty fast, but I found I needed to exert a fair bit of pressure on the carrots with the tamper. The blender doubles as a juicer jug which isn’t great when you don’t want to “bluice”. I’m on the lookout for a regular jug that fits neatly under the spout but haven’t found one yet. For the moment, I’m using the provided silicon spout and a bullet blender container for single serves of juice.
As other users have commented, the pulp is not as dry as when using a slow / masticating juicer. The resulting juice is also very foamy, but a quick stir solves this. The bluicer leaves fairly dry pulp with hard fruit/veg like apples and carrots, and rather damp pulp with softer fruit. But it’s good enough for me, a casual juicer.
Cleaning is fairly easy - a little dish soap with the included brush under a hot tap for the mesh, and a rinse and soft sponge if needed for the other bits. Line the pulp collector with a biodegradable bag to collect the waste pulp for easy disposal in the council green bin. I hear other folk use this in their garden compost or re-use to make dog biscuits!
I haven’t used the family-sized blender yet, so can’t comment.
