Totally not what I expected from IKEA – Where do I start? Reject shop quality. Bought the 16 cube in the black/brown last night and had just a lovely time assembling it (sarcasm) A… Read more
carpenter might actually just quit life putting this piece of junk together.
I wholeheartedly expected it to be made of cardboard (outside panels have corrugated board on the inside of them) fair enough.
What I wasn't expecting - build quality Fully assembled this product is wobbly (that's even with glueing the dowels in place) The dowels are 6mm, which means the holes should be 5.5mm, but they are more like 5.9 (loosely held) Next is the fact that the only screws that are holding it together is the outside 8 screws, simply not enough for structural integrity
The inner cubes all mount by just dowels and in my world that is rubbish.
There is plenty of ways you can incorporate thinner screws (say m3) to join several cubes together complementing the dowels For a cost of AUD$229
The only way you can make this product stable in its current form is to mount it to the wall or put a backboard on it $5 more dollars on screws and 2 seconds of CNC programming would have changed this review to 5 stars.
Fyi, the 4 pieces I have left out makes a negligible difference to strength (being that they are only connected by dowels) In the second and third photo I am showing the deflection with moderate one finger pressure it is deflecting by 10mm (massive amount)
Not happy.

Beata tv unit 3 door – Absolute waste of money 2 units almost 900. Doors drop don't hold, soft closing doors don't close, wipe down with damp soft cloth now have bubble and discolouration. Absolute rubbish. Show details
I purchased a Billy Bookcase in March 2026. During assembly of the item, I noticed a large orange warning sticker stuck to the inside of the cabinet… Read more
which seemed a st^pid idea because the bookcase is open shelved and on display. Today, I bought some solution to remove the sticker and lo and behold upon removal, I noticed two rather large paint damaged spots concealed by the sticker. What a dodgy thing to do! I am so disappointed in IKEA and its quality control people for allowing such an underhand thing to happen and yet continue to sell the item at full price ! Some staff members would surely have been aware of this. They ought to be sacked for taking short cuts and deliberately misleading the buying public! Now it makes perfect sense why a label that ought to have been placed in a less prominent position was used to cover up damage. Shame on you, IKEA.

Strange Product – Pros: It looks nice; is economical; has much storage for the dollar. Cons: Why only two backboards? Why 11 nails for each of them instead of an… Read more
even number? Was most difficult Ikea furniture to assemble in my experience, which is surprising considering how simple it looks. Seems the pictures on pages 6 and 7 have an error(s) in them regarding orientation of the sides. In my unit, it wasn't easy to align all of the holes.

The shelves are weirdly designed – The shelves are weirdly designed in a way that allows things to easily slip and fall off, because the border is on the bottom side. It makes no sense… Read more
why it was done that like, and you have no option to switch the shelves so that the borders are on the top.
Do not buy this unless you are OK with having no border protecting the items from falling out. It might work for shoes and other rubbery objects.
Great add on for Ikea Billy bookcase – Bought this product at same time as my Billy bookcase. It's a great add on. Easy to put together and attach to bookcase. Actually makes the bookcase look even nicer.
We have this little seat with storage compartment from IKEA. It comes with a few pleasant surprises and we are s o satisfied that we want to write… Read more
about it. Price is decent at $59. We chose light grey fabric and pine coloured legs, but it does come with dark grey with pine legs or all red colour variants. This one is very neutral and matched / complimented other furnitures in the room very well.
We were initially concerned about the legs, whether they will be too polarising given their shape and being attached on the outside of the seat, rather than underneath like all other similar products in IKEA. However, its longer legs also meant it doesn't feel as bulky as the others, with one trade-off being on the leaner side on storage capacity, 17cm deep and 33cm internal diameter. However, it actually feels much larger or much more practical than its dimensions suggests, thanks to the way the lid is designed, which has three little feet to keep the lid in place. This means the useable space is all the way to the brim. Nice! This is the first pleasant surprise.
Despite its longer legs and they are attached on the outside of the seat, with double 40mm hex screws with metric head (key supplied as usual). They are strong and fit almost flush from the inside of the storage compartment. The result is a surprisingly sturdy seat with no play at all. The lid and the rest of the seat "bucket' are padded with plush, firm foam. Surprisingly comfortable to sit on.
The only cheap out is the floor protectors, which are just stick-on foam tabs, rather than say nailed on or screwed on felt pads.
All in all, very happy with this product!
Sturdy set of drawers – These drawers look good and are easy to put together. They're quite high so definitely check this if you are wanting them to go under your desk. They come with wheels which makes it easy to move around.
good build for price – Ikea LENNART storage drawer white, is very light in its build yet innovation in assembly was easy, it works well and is study and as i said very light. the metal mesh drawers were easy to put together.
IKEA's quality is shockingly bad – I haven't purchased from them in a while, and this is a fresh reminder to avoid IKEA. No matter how you install these, they always sag forward—just a… Read more
poorly designed product. I had to reinforce them with L brackets to keep them straight, but I could have gone with a much better option by simply installing L brackets and using shelf panels from Bunnings, which would have been cheaper and more effective.

Bad design and engineering - overpriced too – Do not buy it. Read below to see why : The lock-cams in this product are made of plastic (see the pictures - the white ones). For comparison I have… Read more
added a picture of a normal lock-cam made of metal (shiny one). As we can see the thickness of the metal one at the end of the cam where the most of the force is applied when locked is 2.62mm while the IKEA supplied plastic is 1.99mm. That is 0.63mm thinner on the plastic side! They broke and one can see this is mechanical stress (look at the jagged edges). Since I have invested time (transport for example and they heavy etc) I will not return them to store but hopefully I made the point why this is a failure for other people to avoid. I can get on with the bad melamine film where once can see the overlapping edges. Is too soon to tell if this will make the 365 days but if they don't they will get it back and I will update the post.
