VERY hit & miss – Hubby and I bought two king single mattresses in 2023 that we push together to form a massive bed. Mostly because he needs a softer one than I do. … Read more
However we both tried every bed in 40 winks and both agreed this mattress was the best for our backs and bodies. (Both of us have back issues) We tried every firmness in their range and went with the plush. (Which didn't seem very plush at all- more like an oldschool 'medium' firmness but just with the small pillowtop on it)
FFWD to about 6-12months into the use and while his bed (Although we do swap beds weekly) remains perfectly uniform and evenly firm, mine (which is exactly the same size and plushness) has sunk horribly. It is SO soft- but ONLY in the middle. It melts in the middle like a trampline would and I can now only sleep a few nights on it. I find myself waking up with sore aching back and ribs from hips to neck. I also find myself migrating to the edges of the bed just to get some support during the night- At risk of falling off lol. I have actually gone back to using our old Tempur mattress a few nights of the week and rotating between them (Dragging and changing beds is not my idea of fun)
Pros: - Decent price - Easily sourced - Appears well made, no stray stitches and the materials are decent thickness and quality - Comes in an array of sizes - Aussie made!
CONS: - VERY hit and miss. Mine is terrible while hubbys is still perfect. - Because of the pillow top you can only rotate the bed top to tail, you cannot flip it. (Something I honestly am considering at this point, just to try and get some support out of it) - HOT!!! I overheat in these beds horrifically. Only on the back side thats touching the mattress too I might add. I have since added cooling gel mats (designed for dogs lol- I was desperate) and lay on those during the hottest nights. I have also replaced my doona with a thin bamboo summer weight one and a cheaper cover to allow more air to pass through. But my point is- I should NOT have to change my bedding because the matress has heat issues. Hubby also uses a very thin blanket and is still warm enough- Its worth noting too, our bedroom sleeping temp has never changed. Its always set to 18C air con. -Heavy! Even for a king single! - Given how mine has sunk already, I really don't expect to get more than another yr out of mine. Longevity just is NOT there. And going by other people's reviews, I doubt I could ask for a new one under warranty. -No return period if it's not working or starts to sink.
