read-along books are absolutely fantastic! This is hands-down the standout feature for us. My kids love following along with the stories, complete with music and multiple character voices that really bring the books to life. As a parent, I love that it's helping them develop a genuine love for reading while they're still learning. There's something so special about watching them engage with physical books while the Birde guides them through the story - it feels far more educational and meaningful than just passive listening.

The tap-and-play seeds are brilliant - my kids find them so intuitive, and they're impressively durable. We've had our fair share of drops and tumbles, and everything still works perfectly!

The size and design are spot-on for little hands - it's lightweight and easy for young children to hold without worrying about them dropping it. You can tell it was made with kids in mind.

If you're looking for a device that encourages reading, sparks imagination, and is built to withstand the chaos of childhood - the Birde is it. We absolutely love ours!

performance and long-term reliability. Apart from the Apple TV (which doesn't support uncompressed audio passthrough), there isn't much else on the market as solid as the Shield TV Pro. I've been using it for nearly a decade, and its seamless integration with Plex means I don't use the built in LG apps and related issues!

The SHIELD Pro version specs are still good with NVIDIA Tegra X1+ processor, 256-core GPU and 3 GB RAM does 4K streaming and gaming. The 16 GB of internal storage isn't thrilling but expandable via USB3 to whatever SSD you have. Main reason to buy the "latest" Pro 2019 version is 4K HDR with Dolby Vision and HDR10, and AI-enhanced upscaling to elevate lower-resolution content. On the audio side, it does Dolby Atmos and uncompressed formats DTS-HD MA, Dolby TRUE-HD etc. If you have a small-medium Plex library the built-in Plex Media Server isn't a bad option, GeForce NOW is built in for cloud gaming, Google Assistant voice integration, and Alexa compatibility. Android TV gives you many app options, side loading smart tube is easy enough even for beginners. The remote control is minimal but works really well, I don't think I have used a remote as comfortable as this one. You can re-assign the launch button via ButtonMapper app - overall highly recommend!

initially worked, and then I added a second smart tv to it, and it totally trash the bed misunderstanding commands and simply doing something unrelated to the command given. Recently, it lost network connection and can no longer connect. Google's online help is perhaps a contradiction, and less than useless, wasting alot of time following procedures that fail, such as simply connecting the device back to Google Home and my home network after a factory reset. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, because you won't know when it will simply stop working and you'll have next to no support for it. I will never buy another google product ever again.

Google Home / Google Nest are, without exaggeration, the most unreliable consumer electronics I have encountered. I own at least six different Google… Read more

Home and Nest devices, and when they actually function, it is close to miraculous. Voice recognition is inconsistent, device routing is chaotic, and the system behaves unpredictably. One moment a command triggers on a particular speaker or display, the next moment a completely different unit responds (or fails to respond at all). Switching between devices is erratic, and half the time the system simply refuses to connect or execute basic tasks. Google Home has already been discontinued, and the Google Nest Hub is not an improvement. Based on the direction of the product line, I would not be surprised if Nest is discontinued sooner rather than later. On top of this, the devices are data-harvesting machines that depend on faulty updates, often rendering them temporarily or permanently useless. I have spent serious money on equipment that is now essentially worthless and unwanted on the second-hand market. Google’s priority is not the customer; it is the monetisation of user data for advertising. Reliability and support are afterthoughts. My advice: avoid Google Home and Google Nest products entirely. They are outdated, unreliable, intrusive, and a poor investment.

fault for not checking and making an assumption. So, I purchased a dongle online from the Topfield website. This was where I started having issues. Once I connected to my wifi network, I found that I could not connect to Netflix, or any other streaming App for that matter. I just ended up in this frustrating circular dead end. I called Topfield on their 1300 for help. I did this at least four times (during normal business hours BTW) and each time after being placed on hold for about10 minutes, I was disconnected. Message saying the office was unattended and to send an email. I then wrote an email via their website asking for help. After four days, no response, I wrote again and no response. It's now been over 6 weeks and still nothing. The online manual (PDF download) didn't help either as does not reflect the interface, which by the way is a shocker, not at all intuitive. Thus, I seem to have been left with a worthless product. In fact, there may have been nothing wrong with it, I just needed some support. In the end, I contacted JB and they were happy to give me a full refund. Good on them. That left me with a Topfield dongle that I had no use for. So I packaged it up with a nice letter explaining my predicament and asked for a refund. That was a month ago and I have heard nothing from them since. I have since bought a Fetch TV and absolutely love it. I would advise anyone considering buying the Topfield PVR to reconsider and by something else....In particular, the FetchTV. It's so easy to use and set up. Brilliant performance too.

guide and absolutely no information on the multitude of other functions. The player has an inbuilt slot under the hinged cover that takes a SATA drive up to 3.5" and as large as 6tb. I installed a 1tb WD SSD only 2.5 inch but the SATA plugin is the same no matter what size drive. It was really difficult to format the SSD and get the player to recognize it but I got there eventually.

Major bugs include the Google Play store not working correctly and a major incompatibility downloading files with my iMac computer, a well known problem that hasn't been addressed for the many years it has persisted. It seems the Mac OS X sees only the Android system file size and not the hard disk size meaning that files of 1gb will produce a "not enough disk space error". The issue appears on all file transfer protocol types, e.g. SMB, FTP & NFS. The only fix I found was to download a very basic file transfer program that doesn't check the drive size before the transfer. This finally worked and I can now transfer files over my network. The program was trolCommander which is written in Java and runs on all platforms.

I spent at least 20 hours ironing out all the issues and I am computer literate. Don't expect to buy this unit as a plug & play device and I came very close to sending it back to the eBay vendor. Only the units good picture quality and the fact I spent $189 on a SATA SSD made me persevere with it. If you enjoy solving difficult IT problems then this is the player for you. I guess you will be rewarded with a technically advanced streamer and a lower price than a more well known, polished brand.

After 12 months use I am really enjoying this unit am happy with my purchase. I still say don't buy if you want a plug and play device.

quite complicated. Several times it needed to be turned off and on to reset. It took 2 or 3 days to completely work it out and to be operating fully. We had it paired to 4 devices, tv receiver, sound bar, dvd player and the surround sound system, I would say it only worked turning all the devices on, about 60% first time. It seemed quite slow. I wd have to close the app and then open it again. I found waiting for that extra few seconds worked MOST of the time, but not always. We tried to contact them for assistance, but no returned calls, or email reply. Hence …. now we have a Logitech one which seems great, after only a few hours. It operated literally seconds after putting the app on my phone, after hubby had set it up and put the app on his phone.
