these newer models obviously aren't of the same quality of the reviews from several years ago, purchased in DEC 25 , not working needing repairs… Read more
March 26 , 3 months is dismal to say the least , had the same issues as the reviewer below. How and why grass collects under a cover that houses the belts and pulleys is beyond me and poor design quality, especially when there is no mention of it in the owners manual. I cant mow any lower the the 3rd last setting as, as previously stated the mower gets "hung up" and the wheels just spin and try lifting or pushing this heavy mower through to get traction again is a nightmare. I bought this mower to make my life easier all it has done is make it harder. It was waste of money and if i don't get a refund I will be getting rid of it .....................but in all honesty I don't feel right about passing a lemon on to someone else so i guess i will just have to cut my losses :( * Petrol tank is small * Gets "hung up" even on reasonable level ground and unable to cut grass to desired length * Grass collect under covers were it shouldn't- causing major mechanical issues * heavy and hard to maneuver * starts easy * cuts nice when it does cut *catcher is a good size * not so great at mulching but not bad

Toro 21" Recycler Mower - A Dead Loss – I couldn't agree more with the other review on this site. The Toro 21" Recycler is a beast - it's heavy to maneuver/push and it's catcher volume rate… Read more
is very low to extremely poor, depending the moisture content of the grass. The slightest bit of damp and you may as well just leave the catcher off the mower. Its blade is a solid bar of metal sharpened on one side of each end - essentially just a covered slasher. Attempts at using it on my cultivated lawn resulted in tearing of the top cover and large amounts of leavings that required raking and gathering. It doesn't generate enough catcher suction to lift cuttings off hard surfaces and hitting any sort of bump results in large clumps of cuttings dumping onto the lawn from inside the chute where it gets clogged. Its lowest height setting is really too high for anything but a public footpath or playing field - it isn't really a 'lawn' mower at all - more of a 'grass cutter'. Mine is now for sale at 30% of purchase price after less than a year of use. A dead loss.

Good for some jobs, bad for others – Beast of a mower. Can handle very thick material without stalling. Unfortunately I would only recommend using this machine for overgrown grass/brush… Read more
on flat ground - and only if you have plenty of time.
Unfortunately a few design flaws make it unsuitable for hilly or rough terrain. The reverse gear is very weak, meaning you can't drive down a slope and reverse back out. And no locking diff makes it a nightmare to use on rough or wet ground - one wheel constantly ends up spinning.
Don't expect handling the machine to be a walk in the park either. It's self driven - but you have to steer/turn the over 100kg machine yourself.
Zero turn mower is much easier to operate when cutting tall grass. A tractor/slasher combo is much faster and easier with woody brush like blackberry and gorse. But if neither of those are an option - like if you're going around tight spaces under trees - this does the trick.

machine, users looking for a shorter finish (down to 3.17 cm) should consider the Toro TimeMaster instead. Due to the 30-inch deck width and front baffle design, the mower may flatten long grass or tall weeds rather than cutting them on the first pass. Achieving a clean result in overgrown conditions typically requires multiple passes, starting at a higher setting and gradually decreasing the level.
Operationally, the mower features hard-composite wheels that provide durability but can lose traction and spin on damp turf or immediately after rain. This lack of grip, combined with the machine's weight, makes low cutting difficult in wet conditions. Additionally, the bagging system relies on high-volume airflow that can be restricted by moisture or heavy clippings, occasionally leading to chute clogs that require manual clearing. Despite these situational limitations, the engine is noted for being easy to start and reliable, making the unit well-suited for high-productivity "rough cuts" on well-maintained properties, though it is not intended for precision short-grass applications.
