Samsonite S'Cure Spinner
Love this Samsonite frame suitcase – I prefer framed suitcases because they are easier to open and close and zipper types can break when filled to the max which I often do. There aren’t… Read more
that many light weight frame suitcases around. I like the spinner because it is sturdy yet easy to manoeuvre but still lighter than most frame type suitcases. We have 3 and about to buy a 4th. They have been through quite tough travel. Once a wheel did break when coming out from baggage claim and the suitcase was particularly heavy but it was fixed by the anirline and has been fine since.

Dakine split roller tan/brown – I ordered this in the brown/tan colour and I am so pleased with the bag. Excellent quality not a cheap feeling about it. Feels very durable and washable for those stains from airport handlers. Very very pleased. Looks super cool Show details

laptop case on the front, and it has popped off in the middle of the airport multiple times. It is not secure and is incredibly frustrating when you are trying to move quickly. Additionally, the handle on my lightweight bag won't fully extend. It consistently gets stuck halfway through my trips once I reach my destination, making it a struggle to wheel around. When I reached out to customer service about these malfunctions, they tried to blame me, saying the bag was 'packed' wrong. A suitcase is meant to be packed! If the hardware and attachments can't handle a full bag during a normal cross-country trip, it is a manufacturing defect, not user error. I no longer like or trust this luggage. I expected much better quality and support for the price. I’ll be looking for a brand that actually stands behind their 'lifetime' promise.
Can't travel with out it – The Zoomlite shoe cube makes packing for travel even easier. It holds two pairs of shoes including socks. Keeps shoes together and other items in bag protected from dusty shoes. Can't travel with out it.

zipper, the wheel snapped off in my first oversease trip, & the entire case is cracking at the corners. I have not used it often, I’ve just had it a few years. It never was fit for purpose but couldn’t take it back because I had to modify it to get it home from oversease!
Bought it for my trip, so the wait at the airport wouldn't be so hard. My kid loves it and wants to use also at home. The quality is also pretty good comparing with the price. Recommend!
Crumpler Dry Red No 11
Not waterproof – This suitcase is well designed and functional, with one glaring exception. The rain was pelting down on my last trip interstate when I discovered to… Read more
my horror that Dry Red it is not. When I went to unpack that night everything in the case was damp, including two books I'd bought as presents for my hosts. My nightie was wet and I had nothing else to sleep in. This lack of rain protection is such a pity because otherwise it is a great case. I'll continue to use it, but I have stored it with a large garbage bag inside which I'll pack everything into inside the case next time if it's likely to rain. This is the small, cabin size Dry Red with two wheels. For the price I paid, I expected durability.
High Sierra AT7

Otherwise the bag is in perfect condition, but it is now extremely noisy to wheel , on the unprotected metal of the wheels. Took it to a High Sierra recommended repairer ( in Brisbane). He advised that new wheels would cost $70 each to replace ( $140 for both wheels) , and advised me to buy a new bag , rather than put $140 into my old one. New bag is circa $220. He had no real interest in the repair. Pretty disappointing that High Sierra don’t repair their products for a reasonable price, as the bag is pristine other than the wheels . I will buy a new bad, but it won’t be a High Sierra brand, based on this

not very robust plastic. Out of the two cases we have 1 has had the plastic plug holding the extending handle come out after the first trip and the second case lost a skid block since the metal self tapping screws just pull straight out of the external plastic blocks. 1 star because at least the wheels are still attached and another because the zips seem robust. Also be warned a lot of people have these cases so make sure to mark your case in some way to identify it on the carousel.

is rather disappointing. The design of the zipper is flawed; the casing bends in making zipping difficult even when the suitcase isn't full and the zipper tags that lock into the TSA lock are way too, unnecessarily fiddly. Another annoying aspect was that the inside zipped side panel has the zip vertical and on the far side closest to the middle, so you have to have the suitcase open and laid flat to access the contents. It would make more sense to have multiple access points or at least have the access in a place that can be accessed without needing to fully open the suitcase. While it held up and kept everything safe and dry etc I'll never use it again and the cheap suitcase I picked up at a random store overseas functions better than this one. Would not recommend.

able to pull the dent out. It survived one more trip before the shell cracked in 2 different places. One split close the wheels and then a massive crack in the middle. Check thin polypropylene. Save your money and buy a bag that is a bit stronger. Had no issues with wheels or zips they lasted the 3 trips really well including a metro station use. It’s a no for me though. Worst suitcase ever that I have owned. Neither Air New Zealand nor AT accepted any responsibility. The Lady at Strandbag said it would be a waste of time with them as it is so clearly handlers fault and Air New Zealand blamed the material so I got nowhere. Warranty 10 years, right! May as well have no warranty as everything is claimed to be handling issues not built quality. It’s a product built to store not use and definitely not suitable for being used on an aircraft with how the luggage is handled nowadays, unless you fly to Japan but Germany, Australia, NZ and US, different story

quite well! Sewing is a wee bit shoddy, but seems strong enough to do the job till I find a QUALITY one, not an easy task in Townsville! Not much one can say about a laptop case...
One thing that caught my eye was that these cases cause CANCER and REPRODUCTIVE HARM? NO, it's not a typographical error on my part, REPRODUCTIVE HARM! Rang JB HiFi expressing one's concerns in regards to the REPRODUCTIVE and CANCER warnings, (see pics), and they never spotted it until one pointed it out to them and looked at the others on their shelf! SHOCK HORROR!
One never slept well at all last night fearing a Chinaman was going to crawl out of the bag and chew on me gonad's during the night! I mean, how can a BAG cause REPRODUCTIVE HARM? Only way it can happen other than above, is to accidently get me old man babymaker danglers caught in the zipper when closing the bag! Other than that, what the heck!
This bag needs looking into!

wheel almost snapped off on it's second use on a trip to Melbourne and the second case failed on our third trip in exactly the same way. Fortunately, this time the damage occurred on the trip home so we didn't have to run around and purchase a replacement bag in order to fly home. Both cases were rendered useless afterwards and ended up in the bin. Obviously there is a major design fault as all the reviews seem to describe similar failures. Very disappointing when we thought that by purchasing an expensive suitcase, we could look forward to many years of travel with it. Not to be!

10-year global warranty. After fewer than 10 uses over 8 years, the wheels began producing an extremely loud, high-pitched squealing noise, which has worsened over time. It's now so disruptive that I feel embarrassed using it in public.
I submitted a warranty claim, explaining the issue and providing clear photos showing no visible damage or misuse. Despite this, American Tourister/Samsonite dismissed it as “normal wear and tear” without physically inspecting the case.
The warranty might look impressive on the box, but in my experience, it’s not honoured in any meaningful way unless you jump through hoops — including paying shipping and risking charges even if they reject the claim. That’s not what I consider genuine warranty support.
Buyers should be aware that this 10-year warranty sounds better than it perform

aware that the wheels on the two larger suitcases didn't hold up to much use at all. After two overseas trips in airports and train stations, the medium sized one was unable to steer and quickly saw tears in the material at the rear of the case. The larger one (80cm) has only been used once for a trip to Europe with minimal transport but I wouldn't be confident of its ability to steer for much longer. 3 years is not a lot for suitcases that get moderate use - particularly for samsonite and their so-called 10 year warranty. It was my first samsonite set and I won't buy this brand again.
