Rubbish quality, terrible service. Waste of money – Took six months from the date of my order for the board to arrive. Arrived with dirty finger marks in the artwork, board is clearly made very… Read more

cheaply. Arrived with hairline fractures throughout the board. Don't waste your money, definitely save time money and get a better product elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Great use – This is my only surf board and what I like about this is that it has the most common step-up use. With its pronounced rocker, it is a natural choice… Read more

for steep faces and on-rail surfing. Single concave gives the board plenty of drive for critical situations. Feels free and really easy to maneuver.

Another Good JS Board for Small 1-4 foot waves – I had the 5'7 x 19 x 2 1/4 - 25L. At 5'7 and 63Kg it was a bit big for me but It surfed very well. Smooth and would transition between turns without… Read more

a problem. Easy to cutback without catching rail. It would work as a groveller and in the wind affected mush. Due to the wider tail and outline and fuller rail it was more suited to 5 feet and below waves. One of the best boards I have owned but I think the AL Merrick 4 is slightly better. I had the 5'6 Utility.

Surfs well – Floats well, has speed, takes the knocks, likes the solid shore breaks, No complaints in 2’ to 6’ waves, easy to paddle, catches waves man, easy to… Read more

carry under arm, tried different fins and didn’t slide out. Can’t understand other surfers not liking the gliding fish. Price is good value for what you get.

Delivered for $470 – I've bought many boards from Sanctum and I think they're great value and very good boards. Had two of the Switch which are great boards. Why spend a… Read more

grand on an Al Merrick when you can have two of these? The Box and Dice was good as well just needed to buy the 6'5 not the 6'3. Will get one when they're back in stock.

foam ever. Literally looks like 150 or just packing foam. Collapsed fin boxes x4 collapsed deck x1. Can literally squeeze the board flat.

Weak board – I also found mine to easily ding too. And after owning the board for about 2 years was in soft 3-4 foot surf, deep water at south curly - when it… Read more

clean snapped in half. I contacted JS to see if they would investigate whether the board was structurally weak, but no love back from them. Not buying another JS.

MF Super Soft 7' – I am new to surfing and during my lesson, the surf school uses MF boards so I got myself one. I bought the MF Super Soft 7ft in September 2021. Now,… Read more

I am getting better and faster at my pop up. However, sometimes when the waves are too fast, when I pop up, I sometimes step on where the handle part is and because it is fast, hitting that specific part is a bit painful because the foam part is not as thick, probably less 10mm and it is already a hard plastic. One time I got a deep cut, it was painful and it was bleeding hard. I had to stop surfing.

But, everything else is good. A good quality softboard.

Easy to rip on, easier to snap – Bought my first Germ from Mona Vale, Sydney this year. It was a 5'10, not future flex and i picked it up for 500 bucks as it had been in the store… Read more

for a while. I'm 6'2 and weigh 82. First surf i was so pumped, convinced it was the best board i'd ridden. Then i snapped it on a 1 foot piece of turd closeout. I took it back and they gave me a store credit for the cost of the board as i broke it in the first week of ownership, stoked. So i custom ordered a 5'9 future flex Germ with 5'10 dimensions and thicker glass. This cost another 500 bucks as it was worth 1000. A few surfs later and i snapped it in a similar situation as the first one. I was gutted and confused. I owned a 5'8 Hypto before these boards and flogged it for well over a year as my main board, took it to indo and everything. Oh and i bought it used! So I won't buy into HS making weak boards, my uneducated guess would be that the Germ has a weak spot under your front foot because of the funky concave. Whereas the Hypto at 5'8 is one meaty sucker which could be why it took such a beating. But the Germ is way better under the feet if your not feeling lazy. I'd be keen to try out the Merlot.

I should add the customer service is next level at HS, everyone i have delt with there have been lords

Magic Board - believe the hype – I recently bought a Pyzel Ghost Pro 6'4"x19 1/2 x 2 /16, 31.6L as a step up board to surf waves in the 5-8ft range (Hawaiian scale so 10-16ft… Read more

faces).

I'm 5'11" 77 kg and 52.

Pros:

1. This board paddles unbelievably well- It freaks me out how this board glides into waves and across the water paddling back to the lineup. It paddles better than my other 64 which is 34L. It paddles like a high volume fish board. Takeaway - you need less volume than you think with this board

2. This board is fast on the wave - I surfed it on some 6 foot waves this morning and it made sections I was sure would shut down on me. It went very fast BUT it felt totally in control and VERY manoeuvrable. The combo of fast, total control and very manouverble is something I haven't experienced with any of my other boards. I mean, my 8ft gun gives me total control and is fast but not that manoeuvrable. My 6'8" x 19 1/2" x 2 5/8" JS FMN rounded pin gives me control and manouverablitiy but then it doesnt feel that fast. The ghost pro felt really fast but also really secure and stable and then when I wanted to do something it just did it. Pretty unique in my experience.

3. This board has incredible hold - Again, this morning I has knifing into late takeoffs the board just hung on the face and felt great. It felt like it knew where to go and I was just along for the ride. Its incredibly stable and actually really easy to surf.

4. This board rips - This morning I was amazed by how the ghost pro kept its speed through turns on big open faces. It never bogged. It never caught a rail. It just felt smooth and awesome.

5. Its durable - Well, only one surf in 5-7ft surf and not a single compression which I take as a good sign.

6. It duck dives really well. I would say it duck dived like a board with less volume - my comparison is my lost driver 2.0 30.3L the ghost pro duck dived better. Go figure.

Cons:

I cant think of one. This is for real the best board Ive ever bought. Nothing about it felt wrong or like it would take some getting used to. As soon as I started paddling I knew it was going to be amazing it just glided through the water so well and felt really good.

ADVICE:

- surf it in bigger waves. This morning I was wanting more waves in the 7-8ft range, so 16ft faces, I felt the board could easily get into that size and have a total party.

- get less volume than you think you need. Its not like other boards. Its a magic board. For my weight at 77kg 31.6L was easily enough to get me into 6-8ft waves

The Lost Rocket need i say more! – We have all heard about this one, the world famous Lost Rocket. I still think that this is quite possibly the most popular board model of all time!… Read more

Big call i know but as an agent for this boards resurgence in 2009 i was gob smacked by the response & widespread froth that this model created.

In the video i have posted, they talk about this board being the same outline as a regular shorty but with the nose & tail cut off. That is basically what it is, with a big tail lift for release & a lower rocker, this board really is a lot of fun i was less adventurous with the rocket & rode it at 5'10 4 inches under my regular 6'2 & mind the pun it went like a 'Rocket'

The one thing to take into account about this board is it's not necessarily a 1 foot groveler ride it in 2-3 foot surf & you will not be disappointed easy to get used to with the short board outline & a whole lot of fun to throw around, with out taking you too far away from the feel of your regular short board. I have seen guys like Chris Ward ride this board & numerous others at pipeline about ten inches shorter than there regular boards, i can't comment on that other than im glad it wasnt me! Available here in the board store, check it out. Great Board, Lots of fun, worth every cent

JS Pier Pony 4'10 – Good Board. Takes a few surfs to get used to as it was so small length wise. I have the 4'10" and am 5'7 62kg. Good planing speed and easy to turn.… Read more

It seems to work better in fuller cleaner waves which break out the back then you can cruise and cutback all the way to the shoreline. On suckier or even mushier heavier sections it might struggle to fit in the pocket. You may even slide, losing speed on take off, but you will regain that speed once you are on the face going across the wave. It is flat like a ironing board and sometimes you will bury the nose after a critical manoeuvre. It cutbacks well and can get above the lip when required. I give it 4 stars. Planing Speed. Manoeuvrable Due to it's width and doesn't fit in the pocket like a shortboard Groveller. As such you might lose speed on take off

Disappointed that this new design has not been anywhere near as durable as the FireWire boards I've surfed in the past.
