After seven days of use, both my wife and I are very satisfied with this washer. The cleaning results are excellent, and the functions are practical and well designed. What deserves special praise is the machine’s stability: the adjustable front legs, automatic self-levelling rear legs, and the powerful drum balancing system work together exceptionally well. Even during the spin cycle, the washer remains very stable and remarkably quiet. This is especially important for us, as our laundry is on a timber floor — something our previous front-load washer struggled with during spinning.

This is a truly solid, well-built masterpiece. For a household that does laundry frequently, owning a US-made Speed Queen is a real pleasure. My wife has mentioned more than once that our clothes now come out noticeably cleaner compared with the results we had from other brands in the past.

We are both very happy to have joined the Speed Queen family — and honestly, we should have made this decision much earlier.

Bad experience with Fisher and Paykel – Popular brand however annoying crap in playing up two years time with their stupid codes that constantly beeping non stop. Never this brand again, got LG better !

service in 2026 on a 2020 WA8560P1 washing machine that was noisy at high spin speeds. The service technician did not correctly diagnose the cause of the noise and provided an expensive quote for unrelated pump and suspension parts that were not cost-effective to replace, which I declined. Within a couple of weeks of the service call, spin mode stopped completely. By simply removing the agitator, I could easily see that the screws securing the spline drive to the bowl hub had sheared off, evidently failing progressively over time rather than all at once. Upon installing new screws myself, the machine is now working properly again. The $220 service call fee was therefore a waste of money. I tried complaining to F&P but would have incurred another $220 fee for them to look at it again.

But this is worse than poor customer service. This is also clear evidence of planned obsolescence. The bowl hub has provision for 6 screws to secure the spline drive to it. Only 3 screws were installed in the factory, which obviously couldn't handle the forces because they sheared clean off in only 5 years. That wouldn't have happened with 6 screws. Unfortunately since it isn't possible to remove sheared-off metal screw threads from a plastic bowl hub, it therefore isn't possible to install 6 new screws after the failure has occurred, hence the best I could do was install 3 new screws in the alternate holes. I presume that they too will shear off in due course. Naturally the bowl hub is not available as a separate part so the whole bowl will need to be replaced next time at great expense. I wont be looking at F&P products when that day comes.

F&P used to be a good brand when it was a New Zealand company before the Haier China takeover. It's something much less now.

on clothes. It got better then started happening again. Cleaning it is a NIGHTMARE, so many little niches that collect dirt and dust. I have to clean filters with a toothbrush and a q tip and they're still not properly clean. The slots that the filters fit in are impossible to clean and around the top is a ridge that collects dirt. I clean my machine with appropriate product on hot monthly as instructed. The filthy filter slot is two weeks since last clean. I do wash heavy work clothes once per week. new LG washer has been very efficient, with a wide variety of choices for each type of washing load. It is easy to operate and uses cold water, giving good results. The LG WTG7520 is quiet and efficient, with 2 well designed sturdy lint filters which we clean very 1 -2 weeks. We are a two person household so this smaller unit suits us well.

Now have to wait a week and expect that it will be weeks before actual repair can occur so we are family of 5 without washing machine (once again after similar issue with the previous Fisher and Paykal back in May). Sadly it seems there are no longer any decent appliances we can purchase that last. Expect we will also now have to buy another machine as a spare because I cannot even rent a machine for short term. I moved to other places and it was exactly the same, I used to go to the dump and scavenge parts of other Simpson's. Fill hose can't handle holding water, deteriorates. But that's the way it's designed. Well they are gone now. Forgot how many I fixed in indigenous communities I got our buying team to source another brand as it was embarrassing to sell a product that died so soon, often just out of warranty. That would have been 1000s of sales lost for Simpson. I have not sold Simpson products ever since, I hope Simpson has done better. .

had a lint filter. All the lint would go down the plug hole. My other favourite feature used to be that they had a superior spin rate which reduced drying time considerably. These two features are no longer in the new Fisher and Paykel top loading models. This is extremely disappointing. Having to clean out lint filters add more time to the task and it’s difficult if you’ve got old arthritic fingers. I also live in an extremely cold area and getting laundry dry hard at the best of times especially now that the machines don’t spin the clothes as dry as they used to. The manual has a Helpful Hints Washing Problems that has a lot of detailed information just in case your unsure of how to place your dirty items in the machine, what colours and fabrics go together, adding fabric softener, check the pockets for small items and so on.

You can also delay your washing program by 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 hrs.

If you have young children no problem it has a child safety lock.

The machine also has a favourite function which the program can be saved for the next time you use the washing machine.

You can also enable/disable the end of wash beeping mode in case you want to wash late at night and don't want to hear the end of cycle beep.

The program selector knob is easy to use and has alot of programs for different washing times. I found there is no cycle for wool jumpers. I did try using the delicate cycle except I found the cycle was to long, I used the daily cycle instead. The washing machine has a Time Adjust button which I haven't tried yet, I will next time.

The electronic buttons are simple to understand and use as you have Temperature, Water Levels, Rinse Options and Start/Pause push buttons and an Electronic Display Finish which tells you the remaining time left.

It even has a QR Code to register your product for your warranty.

I purchased the Simpson Top Load Washing Machine because it was important to me to have an agitator, it also was a very good price from JB HI FI Yes I would recommend this product.

Drive. Only bought the Westinghouse two days ago and already disappointed. Wish I could return it. So many options on the old Fisher & Paykel I could change just by pressing a button....didn't matter whether it was halfway through a wash and I decided to change wash time, water level, spin time, spin speed and it was done! The quickest wash I can do on the Westinghouse is the 20 min wash. Can only use the low water level, which means don't put too many items in. Used the 45 min cycle this morning and can only use the medium water level...wanted to use the full (High) level as was washing two couch covers. There is the 60 min wash which allows full water level.....I like to get washing done in time that suits me. I have never waited for an hour for washing to finish. If I washed anything by hand and wanted to give it a spin at the end.....no problem with Fisher & Paykel....just go to spin and I could stop the spin cycle anytime to take out what was in there without upsetting the thought process of the machine If you want to use the spin and rinse option by itself on the Westinghouse its 35 min. You cannot change anything in the cycles once its starts chosen wash cycle. So my problem is the features and controls....too computerised, and not having any control to change anything once cycle starts I wish someone would start making something that matches the older machines in regards to the controls. I realise all the new washing machines must be the same...surely there is one out there with more manual controls even if machine is automatic. Also read later in the reviews about lint filter not working....the couch covers I washed this morning always left a lot of lint in the F&P lint collector. Absolutely none in the Westinghouse lint filter. A long Review but had I known how disappointed I would be I would have spent more time researching and hoping to find one a bit more to my liking.

for 11 years, but one morning it decided not to spin anymore. It had also developed the habit of depositing flakes of gunk on my washing, a problem no amount of tub cleaning could solve. After some online research, I decided on the Haier HWT75AA1 top loader from Appliances Online at $527. There were a couple of negative reviews, but the price and size were right.

There was an initial hiccup after installation. The cold water tap outlet leaked badly and resisted all my attempts to tighten it. A quick call to a relative with the right tools solved that problem.

Now, after a dozen or more loads of washing, my opinion is divided. The electronic controls are easy to use and there are 6 wash options. One annoying omission is the ability to change the agitation time. The only way this can be changed is to select a different wash option. It appears to get the clothes nice and clean, although I have yet to test it on something really grubby.

The spin cycle is extremely noisy at full speed, but in comparison to the Samsung, the clothes come out much drier. Some of the reviews complained about tangled clothes, but to date I have not had this problem (the Samsung was a notorious “tangler”). Having two lint filters in the tub is a definite plus. One criticism on a purely cosmetic level; the Haier water inlets are located on top of the machine and although this may provide easy access, it is just plain ugly. There is a loud noise from hot and cold taps when opening and closing (water hammer) and I did not have this problem with my previous machine.

It’s early days yet, but there are enough good points at present to outweigh the negatives. But I do miss the little tune my Samsung played at the end of the wash cycle (the theme from Schubert’s Trout Symphony). The Haier just beeps 6 times.

that a big brand like LG would be so ergonomically challenged. It can not wash more than 2 towels and a sheet on the biggest load! I got a big machine because I need it. Error codes daily, when it’s out of balance it continues to go through the rinse cycle like it will do it all day if your not home, wasting so much water. Do not buy this machine. My Electrolux 7kg front loader ran rings around this hunk of junk. LG should be recalling them and reimbursing people who bought them. Unfortunately I will never buy anything LG again.

Door lock went haywire. Would open close open close automatically.

Buttons stop functioning. Namely mode 2. Can not switch from normal mode. I presume it's a moisture and circuitry issue.

Turbo clean stopped functioning. Does thing to go. So does not de-lint well at all. Lint floats around.

Worst of all LG service tech is basically useless. They'll send someone out to look at it. Issues will persist. This is the last of LG products in my home. Don't by anything LG post 2017. Sub par quality throughout their ranges.

and unboxed the item and set up the machine ready to go. We did 2 cold wash loads on Friday afternoon. Machine worked well. With no complaints. However on Saturday afternoon when we wanted to do another load.... the machine was DEAD. No lights... nothing. Tried plugging into another powerpoint to check ....still nothing. Checked powerpoint and found no issues there. After spending $1086 on this machine to say we were disappointed to only get 2 washes out of it is an understatement. HOWEVER, I got in contact with AOL straight away and spoke to [Name Removed]. I explained my problem with him and he then conferred with his manager and came back on line to say "Our guys will be putting a new machine on the truck for you to be delivered asap. We will check to make sure it was installed by us correctly and if so, we will remove and install a new machine for you".... which they did. Come Tuesday midday new machine had been installed and happy to say at this point it is still working well. Excellent service by Appliances On Line. Not happy however with getting a lemon from Fisher and Paykel.
