is the problem it won't pick up all channels only those in the 70's region (it did in its first 6 months pick up all) it's not my aerial as an existing lounge room TV works on the same aerial in both locations looks like I got sucked in on the cheap price now I can't find the receipt to return. Aldi used to sell good stuff not any more standards have dropped.

to not turn on after a few months of symptoms indicating a faulty power supply unit or main board.

Just have a google of “lg oled PSU” and see how common it is. I may try to repair it but as OLEDs are by far the best looking TVs, I’ve just ordered a new one on sale with 5y warranty, s#cker for punishment it seems haha.

LG did state that extend the warranty past 1year by 600 days?? (Can’t remember the exact number) due to Australian consumer law stating items of value must last “a reasonable length of time”. 5 years for a $3-4k tv is cr#p when cheap butts LED last for ever. Even crapper when the most important thing, the panel, seems to still be flawless but cheap parts designed to fail, fail.

Update, after lodging a formal complaint LG replaced the 2 boards, then the panel. So make sure you fight for your consumer protections people!

My aging Sony Bravia of 7 years had a dark patch on the screen hardly noticeable accept on plain light colours. I was going to put up with it but at… Read more

some point, I bought a new A/V receiver then realised the Sony was short on a number of video formats and sound formats, so I saw no point in keeping this aging Dinosaur and pulled the trigger on a 75inch TCL quantum dot mini-LED. I ended up going to Appliances online , got an extra discount, free delivery, free removal of my old set and connection of the new one.

It was worth it for me to pay extra for the service because I am old and useless, so it worked out well for me.

I went with the 75-inch TCL which you might think is not much of an upgrade in size from the Sony 65" but in fact the extra 10 inches delivers 33% more screen size and the one other factor was , I figured the 75 inch may not be noticed by my wife and so I won't get into trouble for upgrading.

This set blew my socks off. Once setup using Movie mode , making some adjustments, like switching off all that stuff that the Tv wants to interfere with , dropping the brightness to 24% ( lord, i don't know how people can view this thing at 100% it's impossibly bright) then again if you are watching in broad daylight I can see the point .

I found I had no need for the Amazon Firestick as the menu system on this was super slick and looked the same.

. In HDR10 mode and Dolby Vision colours popped right off the screen and detail was incredible and the whites were super white , the blacks were deep enough to compare to an OLED.

Detail was really outstanding as you can see from the photos.

The Bang and Olafsun speakers were OK, but I will never use them once my Atmos surround setup is hooked up.

The only thing I added was a backlit controller from Amazon which worked straight out of the box and even gave me volume control over my AV/Receiver. A 3-year warranty comes with it and I have 2 earlier TCL sets which are still going Ok after 3 years so let's see. Highly recommended, not sure that the discounts on this model are still around because the 2026 version just hit the ground, and I guess it depends on who still has stock of this model which I reckon is probably coming straight out of the TCL warehouse. Bare in mind that the screen shots were taked with a smartphone camera hence you will see some degradtion in the black areas (noise) as the camera ramps up it's ISO.

dot appear on screen. Then 6 months later screen goes blank and now only comes up with 4 blinks of the status light. This light means there is a fault with 1 of the 3 board in tv. Contacted Sony, they won't do anything, because it's out of warranty. I don't care what they say, it's sad that major manufactures are selling high end products with limited warranty. This leaves customers with no course of action. This TV has cost $700 dollars per year. Now on going to buy lower end product and if it breaks will buy another. Was told Sony make good products

I own three LG products — a TV, a fridge, and a dishwasher — and across all three, the pattern is the same: strong specs on the box, weak execution… Read more

in real life.

**The TV (OLED with WebOS)**

WebOS is a closed ecosystem that doesn't play nicely with Google. They've since added Google Cast via a software update, but it's slow and unreliable, exactly what you'd expect from a feature bolted on as an afterthought. No Android TV means no proper app store, and developers clearly don't prioritise a platform this inconsistent. The "AI" assistant is practically useless — it misunderstands commands more often than not.

The OLED pixel refresh mode takes a full 5 minutes to run, and rather than letting you schedule it overnight, the TV prompts you mid-session every time you turn it on. I watch less than an hour of TV a day — losing 5 minutes to maintenance every time I sit down is not acceptable on a premium product.

**The Appliances**

The dishwasher failed inside two years and required multiple repairs. The fridge's side shelf cracked because it's made from the cheapest plastic imaginable. Both products are loaded with features that sound great until you actually use them.

**Bottom line:** LG's marketing is world-class. Their build quality and software execution are not. Save yourself the frustration and look at Bosch for appliances and Sony for TVs — brands that actually deliver on their promises.

outstanding. However the sound is miserably tinny and so you really must connect up either a soundbar or home theatre. My TV has worked well but with one qualification: it doesn't play well across an HDMI ARC connection with my Denon home theatre amplifier. LG support was of limited help only, assisting me to identify what the trigger for the problem is but offered no solution. Instead, I had to work around the problem, which eventually worked. Overall, it is a great TV with easy to apply settings and outstanding picture quality. If you target a slightly smaller screen size (65in), price drops significantly, but the 83in size certainly makes for a true home cinema.
