2014 LTZ auto Very reliable heavy tow vehicle – Bought our 2014 LTZ auto brand new. This is a pre DPF vehicle. 156000k about 40% of its life is spent heavy towing. Either our Basestation tare… Read more
2350kg a boat Tare 2700kg or a tandem often with a car on it. So several laps plus other and farm work. Rarely used off road. The vehicle has a great reliable engine and the best transmission for towing I have used. Much better than my old cruiser as tow vehicle and half the fuel consumption. Engine oil changed ever 7000 to 8000k Auto fluid changed every 70k. Servicing completed by both myself and Holdens. Turbo hoses front brake disks bushes and other minor parts replaced. Don't like Bringo but everything still works and is original. I wonder about replacing it with Holden closing but find it hard to identify a good replacement. And I like driving it. The engine with its forged internals is very good indeed. Don't care about noise it's the same colour as my tractor! And for a truck it's quiet. Around 8.5 to 9 litres per 100 country driving around 16 litres per hundred towing Basestation.

Good ute – Bought my LS MY14 Colorado as a demo with 2000kms on the clock in mid 15. Have always been quite happy with it except for a few issues. It is great… Read more
off road in sand or whatever and has plenty of power to tow the van etc. An early issue was that the motor was using slightly more oil than GMH’s standard due apparently to a problem with cylinder honing with the MY14 manufacture. This was replaced at 30 000 kms under warranty without any hassles so no complaints about that. However now have things going wrong even though has only done 130 000kms. Recently had a crack in the oil cooler which ended up with cooling system full of oil. Cost to fix $1800. More recently small pipe supplying coolant to the turbo developed a leak. This was impossible to see and very involved to get at so cost $1200. Otherwise it’s still going well Update Feb 26. Traded the Colorado in on an MV Triton but have to admit that I miss it. It was a good bus, rode well, plenty of power.

Not too much to complain about – I bought my Z71 Colorado new in Jan 18, so far in 108000km I have only had 1 problem, the DPF lunched itself after 80000 km, all good now. The ute… Read more
had an ECU remap at 26000 km which may have caused the DPF to fail, not covered under warranty due to remap, fine by me. The remap made the car bloody awesome to drive, no lag from standing start and a big power and torque boost. It has fitted to it now a 3” DPF back exhaust, no muffler just a hotdog, Kings Domin8r LED driving lights,Outback Industries Roof Console, Oricom 80ch UHF,Opposite Lock 2 post bullbar and 14000lb winch, Ironman 147 l long range tank, XROX rock sliders, Opposite lock rear bar/ towbar, Ridepro 2” lift shocks and struts, 100 kg front springs and 500 kg rear leaves, SMM Steel canopy, Triple batteries, Single Titan rear drawer, 265/75/16 Falken Wildpeak AT3 W tyres and Dynapro 8” rims. Tows a 2.5t 21’6” caravan no issues at all.
Power and torque at the wheels before remap was 115.7 kw and 445 nm torque after remap 138.8kw and 495 nm torque.. Can’t complain about the ute at all . Does everything I need it to do without a hassle.

Terrible Purchase – Purchased 2016 Colorado MY17 from Mazda dealership. Car only had 60,000km on it, thought great buy. Found out Torque converter had been replaced only… Read more
9000km earlier, and after a week driving, it kept slipping into neutral and then slamming into gear ( even reverse). Took it back to Mazda, they blamed Torque Converter again, sent it to Holden who claimed it was fine. Another week went by same thing happening, dropped it to Mazda and said its getting dangerous. After another diagnosis, problem was traced back to transmission ( as I had told them previously). Long story short new transmission was installed after them having the car for 4 weeks. So now a car with under 63,000km has a new torque converter, new transmission installed. Does not leave me with any confidence with this vehicle at all. What will the next issue be?????
