Not happy. Asko W2084C Purchased May2025 for $1,500 (sale) at AdelaideApplianceGallery W2084C is very hard to use. And we had an Asko before this… Read more
model (W6441 Quattro rated at 4.3 stars!!!) which was very easy to use. Completely backwards design for the W2084 (rated 2.1 stars!!!).
The single worst features are: 1. the control/user interface 2. the programs and optional settings
For info: we wash the full range of household clothes. we keep comparing to the old Asko W6441 which was so easy to use. the W2084 washes quite well but has all the usage problems mentioned below.
1. the control/user interface - there has been an annoying move in user interfaces for European appliance (e.g. our European oven is the same annoying design) to a single line display, with few buttons, where selections and settings are mostly hidden. One has to cycle through many many options until the desired ones are found for selection. Give me back buttons like on the old W6441! - when the machine is running the only way to display the program or settings chosen is to press a button. - There is NO actual information as to how far through a cycle the machine has progressed, only a time remaining which keeps changing. The time should indicate this but it keeps changing every few minutes by up to 30 mins. and total time can vary from the initial display estimate by as much as 40 mins. Crazy! - interface looks neat and pretty for marketing purposes but is “fashion over design” when it comes to using it. And THIS is what customers will remember!
2. the programs and optional settings - the programs are annoying. Each program has exceptions such as only cold water, maximum of 3Kg, extremely long run time, only low spin rates allowed etc.. What is the point of having these options if half can’t be selected for any given program. By all means have defaults for every program but please allow ALL options to be selected for EVERY program, then a customer can actually setup a useful program to run. - 8KG loads advertised. Not told it is only some programs. Dishonest! - the Mode options “Speed” etc. seem useful at first to tailor a chosen program but there is no indication of what they do, and as soon as one mode is chosen (e.g. “speed”) then NO information is given on how water usage etc. etc. may change. Also when “SPEED” is chosen the initial time shown is reduced but during washing the remaining time can increase greatly to more than NOT having “SPEED” selected. So what is the point of the “SPEED” option? - we would like to setup a program that has approx. 40C temp, runs a maximum of one hour, minimises water usage, takes 8KG (as advertised for this model), uses max. spin rate. If these settings don’t produce the best wash then that is our choice. But there is no way to even choose such a program. -Only option on "Spin only" takes 17 minutes. What? No shorter choice for a few simple clothes that don't need to be highly spun).
3. Failures - We get out of balance errors all the time. The machine often recovers and continues but this recovery adds many many minutes to the run time. Quite often however the machine doesn't recover (usually on the final Spin cycle) and one finds the machine stopped - one has to then restart the Spin cycle which can fail a few more times thus extending the total program cycle by an extra 10-40 mins. [Name Removed] (Customer Care support person at Asko Australia) tried hard to be helpful but his advice fails. He suggested that loads on Spin need to be largish to maintain balance. Doesn't help - we have tried medium and maximum loads on Wash and Spin - Spin fails about 50% of the time no matter what we do and a restart is required. And even worse, when the Asko stops DURING a spin cycle the display says “program successfully completed “. Waste of time. Seems to be a known problem when searching the web for the W2084 - Asko have a design issue with their "out of balance" sensor!
4. Other - When door is left open the long hard sharp plastic door catch is very painful and harmful if bumped with one's leg. - the Asko online survey comment field (Asko web site) is way tooooooo short. Only allows a few lines of text. - W2084C: 8KG loads advertised. Not told it is only some programs. Dishonest. - AdelaideApplianceGallery Sales were as helpful as possible but we chose the wrong model.
- I DID search for W2084 here in ProductReview.com.au BEFORE purchase but at the time (May 2025) NO reviews for that model came up. Web site glitch? If I had read the reviews I would NOT have bought this model!
Please Asko - if we can get a tradein on this model we'll buy a different model!!
Refer also "ASKOfan" excellent review of this model.

My experience with the Asko heat pump dryer has not been good. I’ve had it for a couple of years now and the entire time the pump has been an issue.… Read more
Asko have fixed it but never replaced the pump and it continues to be an issue now that the dryer is out of warranty. The machine stops multiple times through a drying cycle requiring the water container to be emptied but there’s actually no water in the container. This makes using the dryer very difficult as you consistently have to check that it’s still running during what should be a normal cycle I would not recommend buying one of these dryers.

It took 2wks for a service person to attend . Then 2hrs later, and a technical modification by the service person seemed to remedy the problem. Less than 12mths later , a burning smell started to come from the appliance. Another two weeks later and the same service person declares that the main power lead has burnt through its protective cover and he would recommend a replacement. Forward 9weeks later, it is about to be repaired. During the 9 week wait I contacted the so called ‘customer service team ‘ , no less than 5 times, each without response , until this day arriving. Here’s fingers crossed. Oh and don’t buy an asko

towels to take about 3.5 hours to dry. Ok, admittedly that's the trade-off for a very efficient heat-pump dryer, but the noise is unbearable. We purchased the dryer in 2022 and initially it was a bit loud, but tolerable. We adapted to the slow-drying cycle and regularly cleaned the filters as instructed. But now it rattles and cranks along like an old tractor. Given our experience with the call to Asko's service on the washing machine, we've decided to do nothing and just tolerate the aural abuse until the darn things wears out. Ok, we should have purchased a good old fashioned Electrolux or Fisher & Paykel tumble dryer without the heat pump, which would have delivered much quicker results, and certainly much quieter. We have a household of eight and have had to ban the dryer being used after 9pm because it's so loud and uncomfortable. It was meant to be a premium product, but our experience suggests otherwise. I don't usually write negative reviews, but in this instance the manufacturer for this appliance has tortured us long enough!

sensor/lock or thermostat. The first service technician told us that the issues are due to us having solar panels (fluctuations in Hz), but that seems a very lame reason for an oven to fail. We are hugely disappointed in the quality of this oven, and the service technicians don't have anything good to say about the brand... Surely 2.5 years is a very short life for such an expensive oven? but, no - this was an awful buy! When it works - it does it's job well. It takes approximately 9min to get to 180 degrees C on fan. The timer is reliable... but the multiple months of it being out of service while we await repairs is simply unacceptable --UPDATE ~2 months later-- After escalating our issue with both Asko International and Asko Australia, we have been approached by a service organisation who have offered to see to our oven. However, the part will take 7-8 weeks to arrive, so we are to be without an oven for a further 2 months (resulting in 4 months out of service). This assumes that the part is actually the issue, and that if it is - that the new part will not fail again. Additionally, there is the high cost of callout and technician time (charged per 10min) Please don't buy an Asko - you will regret it. There is an old adage: "insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"

consistently fails to clean properly, leaving residue on dishes and the walls of the cabinet. ASKO suggested a service visit, noting that if nothing mechanically was found, we would be responsible for the cost. After persistent follow-up, we received a service visit at no cost, which confirmed that there was no mechanical fault.
It is our view that ASKO has focused more on achieving a high efficiency rating than on delivering a dishwasher that actually cleans. We strongly suggest that ASKO revisit the design to create an appliance that effectively washes dishes.

communication or reply to my emails. They continue to blame us, even though other customers have the same issue. They even accused us of putting foil in the microwave!! Who does that?!
While we appreciate the refund, it should not have taken 6 months of being ignored and multiple negative reviews. Their approach to customer service needs a complete rethink and I can’t recommend anyone buy an ASKO product until this happens.

Purchased on clearance with slight cosmetic damage. Poor performance out of the box, and oven function did not work at all.
A standard, $100 turntable microwave heats faster and more evenly than this. It looks good, but that’s about it.
Two years and three repairs later, the microwave started sparking in use. They told us the enamel was scratched, which we find hard to believe as we only use the supplied glass tray. Other customers have the same issue in the same spot, suggesting a product fault. Even so, there is no mention in the manual, website or otherwise, that the coating is so brittle that everyday use could damage it.
They say this is “unrepairable” and refuse to offer any service or remedy. For an extremely expensive product to not meet consumer standards of safety and durability is shocking. Customer service is poor and they don’t guarantee repairs for a reasonable time.
Based on my experience, I would never recommend this company or product to anyone.

delivered to Harvey Norman for them to deliver - at additional cost of course! Then the machine failed within 2 weeks of installation. The door keeps claiming that it is not closed so will not begin washing. It was almost impossible to obtain satisfaction from the “customer service” and required repeated insistence that what was offered was not acceptable. A local Technician did visit quickly once that was agreed to but sadly was unable to fix the fault. Additional replacement parts were ordered but took longer than acceptable to arrive and still didn’t fix the issue. We now are waiting for Asko to contact us regarding replacement of the machine. Who knows how long this is going to take. I purchased a “premium” product at a price that is extremely “premium” however the service certainly is not commensurate with the price. I responded to an email request from Asko to provide a review to them which they then refused to publish because it was not “within their guidelines”??? Of course they would not want the truth made available to other customers so I will complete reviews wherever I can to assist others to avoid the same ordeal.

random crack for no reason, my old Westinghouse was 25 years old and although it was scratched, it never cracked. After taking Asko a week to approve a warranty repair I thought my troubles were over but this was only the start. They also needed to be pushed every day to give me an answer.
Problem is Asko does not have a repairer for Shoalhaven area. They wasted my (and the repairers') time sending the job to two repairers who don't service Shoalhaven. Noone bothered to communicate this fact either, and when I found out Asko then asked me to suggest a repairer to them! A company selling expensive products with warranty should have a repairer network, it should not be my problem to find a repairer, but I did, through a 5-second google search, which they could have done themselves. I now suspect the reason no repairer works for them is because they are bad to deal with.
The "repairer" turned out to be absolutely hopeless and rarely answered their phone or replied to text messages. The only three text messages I got told me the parts were on the way and I would be called soon. Nope. Asko told me the replacement part had been shipped but it turned out the repairer still hadn't ordered a part after a few weeks. Asko is not interested in supporting their customers, and when I went back to them they kept pushing me back to the repairer, even though it is clear the repairer is useless. After a month I still have no repair and no answer when it might happen. I will never buy Asko appliance again, and will tell everyone I know my story. They have had plenty of chances to resolve this but instead choose to block and obfuscate.
