Functional and low priced – Its glaring problem is its menu system and lack of firmware updates from the manufacturer (they state it is not firmware upgradeable). The menu is… Read more

navigated by the rotary dial by turning it, and selection made by pressing it. The menu has inconsistent behaviour with folder selection an anticlockwise function and song selection a clockwise function. The unit cannot handle folders with too many characters or subfolders (an error message of "UPDATE?" displays on my unit). In these instances folder selection is haphazard and sluggish with the menu sometimes spontaneously reverting to volume control. There is no sorting selection options for folders or files. Id3 tag information seems to be ignored.

The sound quality of the Axis-1100 is good. The unit looks fine. It takes SD memory and USB memory sticks. If you put all your mp3 files in the root folder and don't want to navigate them using folders then this will be a fine unit to have. If, like me, you want to sort your mp3s into folders and subfolders, some of which may contain names with foreign characters or long file names, then you should carefully consider your choice and perhaps steer to another unit. Low price, good sound quality Badly designed menu navigation, no firmware updates

Great incar media player – I wanted a decent DAB in car radio and didn't want to spend too many $$$. Fairly easy to install but with the DAB aerial connector installed it makes… Read more

it slightly longer than than ISO standard. Not a problem for most but I had to bring it out proud of a correct mounting in the dash to prevent damaging the cable. The interface is not as intuitive as the big name brands but once learned it works great. Mine came with a remote and I use this as it has quick access to the features I use. The DAB works very well with the supplied aerial and it had plenty of cable on it to run it out to the bull bar on the front of my car. It doesn't have a mount though other than a magnet and I wouldn't suggest using it whilst driving. I just installed a mount and glued it to it, no problems. The playback of the digital media (CD, USB or MMC ) is great and easily coped with very large MP3 compressions as well as very tight ones. AM is only barely ok and fm reception is strong. It sounds great but could probably do with an adjustable EQ.

For a proper DAB car head unit I think it's great and a better option to the FM modulator types. CD's play fine and even on the hottest days and quite rough roads they play fine, the digital player seems to buffer the songs for about 10 seconds and this makes it a good one in my opinion. It replaced an early high end unit that had digital playback but no usb and this always suffered from mp3 playback issues if the CD wasnt recorded at a low speed and the RW disks were not in perfect condition. Front full size USB Wont display the clock in most modes. AM could be better
