There app is trash and so hard to interphase between headphones and external speakers. Absolute trash and recommend anybody to look elsewhere
This crap -quality is terrible – I now own two of these unit 1 does not longer play cd - only played 10 cds on it 2 crackles without being turned on -sound like a mouse is living inside it Bose manufacturing quality is terrible -Yamaha product is much better

the speakers unusable and I have since replaced them with a cheaper set of Logitech speakers. This happened after about 10 months for the first set and I contacted customer care who replaced the speakers. That process was good. However, the second set did exactly the same after 2 months. I went through *all* of the trouble shooting tips (different power source, different computers, trialing different speakers etc). My previous Bose Companion speakers (from the 90s) worked perfectly. This is a dud product. And for a company does one thing (sound), I'm amazed that they haven't fixed this well-known issue with the product (check out reviews on the Bose Australia website as well).

speaker and it just did not recharge. I was witness to this as I plugged it in at 10% warning. I have owned many BOSE products in my life but i am so disappointed in the short life of this. It basically sat in my bedroom and has never been out of the house.
I googled to see if this was an issue and it is. Some people with the same problem were lucky to be able to update the software on it (enough power left in the battery to resuscitate) and it seemed to work. Unfortunately the battery is not charging at all which by the sound of what I was finding on the internet it is a software issue and not a battery issue. The battery is designed for a long lifetime apparently. If it was a battery I'd feel better (although 2 years is shocking lifetime for a battery) BUT come on BOSE - OMG software issue - thats a big issue and an inherent design issue.

as I wanted to pair the two to create beautiful stereo sound. Alas, it was not to be as I found out when I contacted their support team that Gen 2 doesn’t pair with original. Yes, said customer support, I’ll mention the issue at my team meeting, but no, there are no plans to make the newer speaker pair with the original speaker cos they connect via different apps. WT?!? How can this be so? Very unhappy that BOSE has made the business decision not to support interoperability between their own products!!! Thankfully, the store where I purchased the Gen 2 unit agreed to refund… thanks Good Guys for being great guys!

Incredible sound, even better noise cancelling. I've switched from AirPods Pro 2, the Bose is better in every way. Amazing product.

been extremely disappointing. This is coming from someone who has owned a large number of Bose products over the years and has generally been a strong supporter of the brand. Unfortunately, in many ways this system feels like a step backwards compared to previous-generation Bose soundbars I have owned, which I honestly preferred overall.
The setup process was far from the “seamless” experience Bose advertises. The rear speakers constantly refused to connect, requiring multiple resets and power cycles before they finally paired properly. Compared to the previous-generation Bose soundbar I owned, the connection process was noticeably less reliable, more frustrating, and far less polished. For a premium home theatre system, this level of inconsistency is unacceptable.
Another issue I experienced was popping and crackling noises when powering the system on from standby. The system does this both wired and wirelessly through the speakers during startup, which is not something I would expect from a premium-priced audio system and immediately takes away from the quality feel Bose markets this product around.
I was also extremely underwhelmed with the Dialogue Boost feature. In many movies and TV shows, it actually makes voices sound unnatural and introduces an echo-like effect rather than improving vocal clarity. Even with Dialogue Enhancement turned off, the system still randomly introduces an artificial echo into voices at times, which completely ruins the premium viewing experience. At this price point, these kinds of audio processing issues are simply unacceptable.
When paired with the new Bose Ultra Sub, the bass tuning has also been disappointing. It is very difficult to fine-tune the system for late-night viewing or situations where you do not want to disturb neighbours. Even on lower bass settings, the subwoofer still sounds overly overpowering and boomy rather than controlled and balanced. For a premium-priced system, I expected much better tuning flexibility and refinement.
Overall, this system feels more like a downgrade than an upgrade. Previous Bose soundbars I have owned were more reliable, more refined, and provided a far better user experience overall. Considering the premium price Bose charges for this system, I expected a polished flagship product — not one that feels unfinished, frustrating to use, and inferior in several ways to older Bose generations.

Soundbar is very good but your app is not user friendly. Your company ‘Bose’ needs to get your customers involved and happy to use your products. Without customers your company is DEAD. Wake up

performance. However, it falls short when it comes to phone calls, especially outdoors, where it picks up a significant amount of background noise and makes conversations difficult. As a result, I have had to use a separate set of earbuds specifically for calls, which is very disappointing. Given the advertised call quality and noise-cancellation capabilities, I expected to be able to take work meetings outdoors without any issues, but unfortunately, that has not been my experience.
I am giving this product 2 stars because it did not meet the primary purpose for which I purchased it. While it excels for entertainment, its poor call performance is a major drawback for anyone who relies on earbuds for communication and remote meetings.

to use earbuds that sit inside the ear canal, and glasses makes over the ear headphones uncomfortable.
Can honestly say buying these earbuds was a good decision. They are comfortable, so much so that I'd forgotten I was wearing them. The difference in sound between the Shokz and these is less depth of base sound, when casually listening to music or podcasts this has been hard to notice. Only realised it when charging the case and used my Shokz but the difference has not proven to be an issue.
Battery Life Shokz [8 hrs play time ~ 1 hr recharge] Bose [7 hrs play time ~ 1 hr recharge in case] Case recharge time is 3 hrs B.U.T. The Bose Ultra Open case recharges the earbuds 3 times making them far more user useful with less downtime for charging.
When wearing them they will let you know how much charge they have AND what they are connected to . . . i.e. My name's laptop, or S21fe [my mobile], or a no connected sound which is rather helpful.

heavily on them for managing loud social environments. The new pair stopped working within weeks of purchase! Only one side of the headphones connected to sound and activated noise-cancelling. For a premium product, this is so disappointing.
The customer service experience made things worse. Over two weeks, I spent hours on chat troubleshooting, even though I’m a long-time Bose customer familiar with their products. I didn’t receive the promised replacement postage label and had to chase it down after more wasted hours. Bose received my broken headphones four days ago, but still no sign of the replacement being sent. I contacted Bose again today to find out that the headphones may not be shipped for another two weeks!
This entire process has been frustrating and distressing. Bose used to be a brand I trusted, but after this experience, I no longer recommend them. I’m willing to pay for high-quality products and service, but sadly, Bose no longer delivers on either.

the earpieces come with three rubber ear buds and three rubber rings that help give a nice seat in the ear and help keep noise out. I lost two of these I. The first two weeks, when you pull the buds out the rings pull off and fall on the floor. As for how they work, I can’t understand them. I take them out of the case and put them in my ears, one or other won’t turn on. They turn themselves off for no reason and stay connected when I put them away so I have to disconnect them to use my phone. For the price I’d stick with my cheap ones!
Great Computer Speakers – I owned a pair of Bose Companion 20 for eight years since 2013. They are great computer speakers. If you are looking for a sleek looking, better than… Read more
average 2.0 computer speakers then you won't be disappointed. However, if you are looking for audiophile grade speakers then these certainly are not what you are looking for.
They sound bigger than they are. The bass surprises you (specially when I compared it to the other options in 2012/13) and the mid-range and high's sound better than you expect from a speaker of their size. I still enjoy listening to them. If you are looking to have a quality set of speakers that you would like listening to at medium volume, you are likely to love these.
However, for their price there is certainly stiff competition from other players like JBL, Audioengine, B & W, HK etc. The reason I say this is because, the Bose Companion 20 does not produce sound clarity like some of these competitors would do. The low frequencies are muddy rather than dry and fast and the high frequencies lack the air and reverb. Mid range lacks the different layers of complexity and the timber of the different instruments are not accurately produced by these. For example if you go for Audioengine a4/a5+ or B & Ws you would spend a bit more but you get much clarity in your sound.
I usually find that boser products are well received by most normal listeners because they hype the base and augment the reverbs and DSP effects. However, for the same reason most audiophile's would dislike them. If you want to hear the difference, try listening to few different kinds of music on these and something like Klipsch/ B & W / Yamaha HS 7 or 8, or Audioengine a4/ a5/ HD6 like speakers. Then you will understand what I mean. However, most of these high end speakers are lot more costly.
From a price point of view, bose charges a premium for the brand name.
I chose these because I wanted smaller speakers with reasonable sound for my desktop. Adjusted the EQ a little bit to cancel out some of the muddy effect. But I am happy.
Clear sound, plenty of volume – Great unit; lots of clear sound even at high volumes. Easy to set up, easy to pair with your device and handy with three channels. The best feature is the clear sound.

a YouTube review on the speaker. I flattened the battery and ended up buying an Apple USB-C plug adaptor for $29, this looks better and works well. However using a different power source apparently voids the warranty. The speaker sounds super I prefer the sound over my Sonos one and HomePod. I use the speaker with Alexa and Apple Airplay 2, you cannot ask Alexa to play Apple Music but I can ask the HomePod and set music to as well come out of the Bose Speaker. I can play music straight from my iMac, iPhone and iPad, and also through all three speakers at once, one in the back bedroom, HomePod in the Dining area and Bose in the living room. Also I can lift the Bose of the cradle and carry onto the porch. I'm really pleased.
