it is cooler than a regular tent. However, the durability is rubbish. Three times it has been used. Three times it has had damage due to light to moderate winds that it should be able to withstand and much cheaper tents did. The stitching is weak as. The material is thin. After three uses it won’t be getting a fourth. Complete waste of money

Easy to set up & take down but floor ripped after one use even with a tarp underneath and pitched on grass and isn’t covered under warranty so is poor quality.

Started leaking gas inside – We have been happy with the performance of this stove - the griddle is great. I just took it out of the shed to test it (luckily) as we haven't used… Read more

it for a while and with the gas connected I could hear and smell gas escaping even though all the burners were off. I removed the burners and drip tray to investigate and found one of the brass tubes carrying the gas to the burners had a split around it about 8mm long like a corkscrew. All the gas tubing inside the stove is locked down tight and there is no opportunity for it to twist or vibrate, A fracture like this can only result from the tubing being placed under a twisting force during manufacture, and then locked down with that force still present, eventually giving way. Could have been very dangerous had I lit the stove without checking. The stove is out of warranty, but you would expect the gas piping inside the stove to stay safe regardless of how old the stove is. Now I have to bin an otherwise good stove. We have usually bought Coleman for our camping needs including a second stove, hot water service, sleeping bags etc. so this is disappointing to be let down like this.

from memory) It's had people try to go through it on benders, it's had 2 people on it more times than i care to remember, it's had absolutely no care or respect show to it, and it is still going strong. The rubber that holds the back of the arm up has finally started to go, but I'm probably going to get it repaired instead of buying something new. Some of the trim and stitching has deteriorated, but you get that after so many years. Overall, I can't recommend them highly enough. If I see a brand new one ever again that looks like it's made to the same standard, I'll buy 2 or 3 of them to pass down to the kids.

It definitely works. Warms up the place easily. It is nice looking and I love the drink bar. Gas bottles get a bit expensive - not sure if you can put an attachement if you have natural gas connection.

Could be ok, but worried it’s another lemon – We bought this tent to replace a faulty Spinifex tent (note: I’ve also done a review of the Spinifex tent for comparison). We wanted a blackout tent… Read more

and since the Spinifex tent didn’t work out, we took the advice of the sales person at Anaconda and paid the extra $100 to buy this Coleman Darkroom.

The tent was relatively easy to set up, (overall probably similar to the Spinifex, though as this was now our third time setting up this type/size of “instant-up” tent our previous experience probably helped). Something that makes set up that little bit easier is that Coleman have used red cord to denote the back left corner of the tent and fly, so you just find the red cords and you can tell which corner goes where.

There were already a few tiny pinpricks of light coming through the black out fly when it was first set up and by the end of our two nights there were perhaps a few more on the windows that we’d opened and rolled up during the day we were camped. Though at this stage it’s minimal, so we’re still hopeful the black out will turn out to be better on this tent.

My husband who is 175cm tall could stand comfortably anywhere in this tent without his head touching the roof.

We really like the strip lighting built into the ceiling and that it is in two sections, so you can choose to have the lights on just in one half of the tent. We tried two power banks of the same brand and both had an issue where after the lights had been turned off for a few seconds the lights would not turn back on until we unplugged the power bank for 10sec or so, then plugged it back in. But we really like the lighting, and that it has low, medium and high settings, as well as a setting where the light switches glow gently (note: the glow wouldn’t be bright enough to keep a child happy who wants a night light, but is plenty to show you where the light switches are without affecting your sleep). We’ll try a different power bank next time, but even if it has the same issue, we still really like having the built-in strip lighting even if it’s a bit finicky.

Our big complaint with this tent is that the floor seems to be of a weaker design than in our previous 2 tents. Given the amount of light that came through the floor-material section of the walls in the morning, we had wondered if it may have been weaker than our previous tent, but only discovered that this did in fact seem to be the case when we found holes in the floor upon packing it up after our very first trip with it. We spent just two nights away, camped on grass, in perfect weather, and we’d only gone in and out of the tent to set up our mattress and to sleep. There were at least 4 holes plus several areas of thinning in the floor after 2 nights on grass followed by carefully lying it out on a concrete slab to dry and clean the floor before packing it away. We’ve camped many times over the years, so we know how to set up and pack up tents carefully, and we’ve never had holes in our floor before.

The blackout fly works really well, though is not as completely blacked out as our previous Spinifex tent which we were surprised by. This seems to be due to the blackout cover not reaching close to the ground (it remains probably 10 to 15 cm above the ground the whole way around the tent, except at the front doors where there is extra fabric for the awning) and the floor of the tent potentially not being as thick as our previous tents. We could still sleep even when the morning sun was shining directly on the tent and some people may prefer to have low light to wake them in the morning, rather than no light. So this wasn’t a dealbreaker for us.

As per our old tent, we never needed to use the room divider as it’s just my husband and I, but a clip-on sheet feels a bit like an afterthought and wouldn’t offer much privacy in the case of travelling with others, as you can see around the sides.

While they call this an 8 person tent, it would be very uncomfortable indeed sleeping 8 people in here. If you’re wanting any indoor living space in your tent for when you get bad weather, this is the smallest tent size that I would recommend for two adults without children. You certainly could fit two or maybe three children in here as well, though your belongings would probably need to stay outside the tent. If you wish to have your luggage and a small area to sit or move in this tent, it won’t fit more than two people once your bed is set up. But for two adults this is a very comfortable size.

All in all, we love the internal strip lighting and are still hopeful that the blackout fly on this tent will turn out to be of better quality, though we are really disappointed in the flooring and aren’t holding much hope for its long-term survival, given how poorly the flooring survived (or didn’t) such an easy trip in virtually perfect conditions.

degrees, couldn't keep ice for a day and a half at sub 25 C! There is a huge design flaw in the base - the insulation is non-existent and the bottom and lower 50-75 mm of the sides is freezing to the touch and causes immediate condensation. There is very obviously a thermal short-circuit built into the base. Friends have paid less money for no-brand Chinese coolers and got better value and performance. VERY disappointed to be taken for a mug, I won't be buying any of your products, ever again.

salad plates, sealed containers on top and down sides. Ice might last 10 hours on a 40 deg. day, but that's what I expected - it was bought for a price / size relationship, from Bunnings on special. It's construction is very simple, double skinned with no or little useful internal insulation - no statements / stickers regarding how long ice will last so can't be accused of misleading advertising. I have coolers that will store larger quantities for 5 to 7 days in 40 deg. heat if needed. The double extension handle and large wheels make it very easy to pull around when full - but because the handle does not lock in the up position you cannot push it even when empty. Be careful backing it down or pulling up stairs - the bottom handle mounting bracket rubs before the wheels contact the leading edge of the steps - very poor design in my opinion. This unit fits easily into my cars, has 4 recessed pockets in lid for convenient placement of drink containers, 2 deep hand-grab recesses adjacent the end wheels makes it easy to lift, is of reasonably tough construction, but don't use it as a spare adult chair.

one side. When I turned the second burner on the flame went out. The user manual says to take the burners out and clean any insects out. So that's what I did. My burners were totally clean. So that wasn't the issue. Then when I went to reinstall the burners I noticed that in terms of where the screw holes lined up, the factory had not properly engaged the burner inlets with the gas lines located directly behind the knobs. So I installed the burner properly and drilled 3 new holes. I screwed the screws I took out into my new holes. I sparked it up and now it works really well. The burners were improperly installed in the factory which caused a big reduction in gas pressure. The person working on the production line that day probably stuffed up a few BBQs and quality controll dropped the ball too. But it goes to show that if you buy something and it doesn't work, you could get on the internet, write a scathing review and make yourself all angry. Or, you could investigate the issue, use your brain and fix the problem for yourself. Either way, I've now got a great bbq for an absolute steal of a price. Peace out.

DON'T WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS ALL TERRAIN AIR BED! – We got this bed for Christmas from my parents Dec 2021 has been used for 10 nights camping and a few guest sleepovers, still presents nearly new. … Read more

Bed needed a top up every day since new but now it wont hold air at all, it's only 13 months old. I found and made a video showing that the side seam was leaking in multiple locations, 100% manufacturing fault.

Bed was only 1 month out of warranty but after showing Coleman the video they basically said in a nice way that they don't care because warranty is over.

I will make sure myself or anyone I know stays clear of these terribly bad quality Colman products, and would recommend nobody wastes money on these seemingly great products built with a disregard for any kind of manufacturing quality.

Save a bit longer and help save our planet by not adding Coleman products to land fill.

proven to be a good buy. I have all sorts of camping solutions for the many and varied trips I do but when space and weight isn't an issue this is my favoured set-up. I purchased it from Tentworld along with the dedicated Instant Swagger Stretcher bed. This is a great combination. At 70 I'm starting to struggle to crawl out of a tent or swag and this arrangement means you can camp on any kind of surface and downpours of rain flow well beneath you and all sorts of rocky and rough surfaces don't matter. On this subject I notice a few reviewers complain about rain getting in. I found in my usage that this is mainly condensation or where the fly touches the inner tent. I can mostly eradicate this by ensuring the fly is tied down tightly and tight as a drum. It's very quick and easy to put up and down and I find the design quite clever and a reasonable amount of air flows through. I mostly camp in hot climates so airflow is important.

Range Rover. I did a fair bit of searching and comparing of the various brands before buying and settled on the Coleman because it looked strong and had a 100kmh wind rating listed on the box. I secured it down really well using fence posts, the corner of my house and very large plastic sand pegs where I had to and on all 6 feet. Adelaide has had some horrendous weather this year and I have been somewhat nervous when the winds exceeded 100 klms (quite a few times) but it is still up and solid. The cover has faded a fair bit but hasn't torn which is impressive considering the beating it has taken this year. Covers are a replaceable item and I am hoping I will get over a year out of it but seeing as it is up permanently it is doing well and. The init is quite heavy but if it wasn't it wouldn't be strong. It's definitely a 2 person job to put it up but that said I was able to put it up by myself and I'm not a big guy.

I can recommend this to anyone who wants a solid strong portable Gazebo and is willing to put the effort into making sure it is secured down properly. I only gave it 4 stars because the canvas is fading and possibly may not make it much past 1 year before needing replacing but that is a full year in the sun and rain.

February 5th 2017 Update: No replacement canopy availabe

I have since found that although the coleman gazebo is excellent it is let down by the fact they do not sell replacement canopies for it and in the Adelaide sun a canopy won't last a year. I did find the Oztrail Deluxe 6 x 3 cover will fit if you cut about 12 cms off the middle post on the Coleman frame.

at the time.

The stitching on the backrest of one chair has totally come apart where the rear support post is mounted to the backrest fabric. This means you basically have no back support when sitting in the chair.

The second chair has started to fall apart in the same manner, so its life is now very limited.

The rated weight for these chairs is 130kg, but they were only used by people weighing 77kg and 90kg, so they have not been overloaded.

I contacted Coleman customer service and asked for the chairs to be repaired, but they refused point blank without proof of purchase. I could understand if they were some generic brand, but these chairs have 'Coleman' stitched/stamped on both sides of the backrest, so there is no question that they are Coleman products.

I am very disappointed in both the quality of the chairs and in Coleman's lack of customer support. Solid frame construction, comfortable Poor quality stitching and no product backup from Coleman

staff. It comes with three burners to even out the temperature along the one piece hot plate that it comes with. The hotplate has ridges that locate on the stoves top so it can't slip about like on my companion stove.

The main reason I bought the stove is that it uses the 500g propane gas cylinders and that means I only need to carry one type of fuel. However, a word of warning, the companion double burner will run for about two days on a cylinder but the even-temp manages about 2 hours, at best. It is a lot hotter and three burners eat the gas.

That said, it gave us no problems and we were cooking for 6 people so if that's what you want, don't go past this gem of a cooker.
