has one slide at a time in the carrier. Yes I did notice it only had one slide carrier but I did not think it was going to be so difficult to put in an out .It should have had a multiple slide carrier to put more than 3 or 4 in at a time. but it does not. the one it provides is a single slide holder and it difficult to get it out once it's in the frame. It comes with no software. just cable And a power supply. the last one I had was a optex with a DVD program with ArcSoft photo Impression 6. But my problem was that.I lent it to a friend and it stopped working. So I only paid $90 from ebay 2 years ago and had 3 slide carrier. So I'm saying that's today's money I got less. paid more. camera House shop. For a poor quality item .so buyers look into you purchase and before you commit .I think it could have been better for $250 coming from china. but for some of us. It may not need the software. but I do think multiple slide holder would it be a great option. I have trouble seeing some dark negatives or slides and it does not have much of ability to Brighton those dark slides.. with the software it can give you a better options adjust your photo or slide. scanner is not the best . My opinion only from my home uses. It needs to have software to come with it my opinion only not everybody probably need software but it's still lacks the ability to Brighton dark slides.
