chosen and the blanket is washable as the controllers just unplug from the blanket connector.
The only minor downsides are:
The blanket connector is not as close to the edge of the blanket as I would like and, depending on how you sleep, might rub up against your arm.
The controller switches from 0-1-2-3 which is normal, but having switches that are 0-1-2-3-0 would be better because if you have it on, you know going to either end will turn the blanket off, you don't even have to look at the controller.
Overall, though, great electric blanket.

the cons outway the pros when it comes to this so called portable aircon unit – Does an ok job of cooling but two HUGE gripes with this unit which means i CANNOT recommend it to others - as follows: 1) the outlet hose; ugg what… Read more
an absolute pain, it does not connect cleanly to the point that I've had to gaffa tape the hose at 2 points; the rear exhaust and then again at the window outlet. Terrible design. Other competitors eg Rinnai have a hard plastic connector that locks the exhaust pipe in place; wonderful easy to connect design. Dimplex take note!! 2) dehumidifier - there is not collection point to empty out excess water, which means you have to come up with your own external hose AND collection solution in order to drain the excess water. When you're in QLD and it's 90% humidity this is entirely impractical. As another reviewer said - it would have cost the company next to nothing to at least include a drainage hose which you could then drain the water into an ice cream container I guess, but seriously who wants to do that??? What were you thinking Dimplex???
Love this heater – We also love the fact that it's child-safe. It's also easy to clean.

To be fair they kindly replaced the heater i can not use on carpet.

appear that the product has been poorly assembled at the factory. Calls to the online supplier have met with no response. I would visit a service centre except there is no address online. I cannot find anyone willing to rectify this problem. What am I supposed to do ,throw it out? Very poor service. Subsequent to this review a response was received from Dimplex ignoring most of the content of my review and telling me to contact the retailer. READ MY REVIEW DIMPLEX. I HAVE ALREADY DONE THAT . This product should never have left their factory. Personally I will never again purchase a dimplex product.

noisy and I returned it. I bought another 'Lee Silver' as an interim replacement and it's really good - the flame effect looks okay, nice and cosy, and the 2KW heater isn't particularly loud. protection. The body of the heater gets hot enough to burn anyone who touches it (as is noted in the manual and Choice's review). The heater is less effective at heating a closed 4m x 4m room than a cheap and nasty $30 fan heater from K-mart. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this heater. There are safer and more efficient options for less money.

mantel and there are no installation costs! Unlike some electric fireplaces, it looks great when it is off, which is very important since you will have it turned off more than you will have it on! Some cheaper products look terrible when they are off (e.g. Early Settler Rochdale). The flames are surprisingly realistic when on, and they can be operated without the heating function, which is great if you have another more efficient form of heating, or if you want the ambience even when it isn't cold enough to turn a heater on. The flame speed and colour is adjustable too. It was not easy to find the product in Melbourne though. Harvey Norman sell it, but no stores had it on display. They only had the cheaper models and the most expensive ones on display. I picked it up on eBay at a cheaper price than Harvey Norman, from 247 Deals (aka KG electronics). I bought is sight-unseen, but no regrets, it looks fantastic.

air purifier element to it. I've been wanting to get a Vornado for a while, but the price is quite inflated in Australia. Unfortunately I wish I had gone with the Vornado, as this thing simply doesn't do what it says it does. The volume of air it moves is pathetic, even on the highest setting, which is too loud to use. I had this pointed directly at me from the foot of my bed on full power and could barely feel more than a gentle breeze. Pointing it at the wall like you do with an air circulator also made no difference, in a 3mx3m room. I ended up putting my $20 kmart fan on.
The sensor for the air purifier is also terrible, simply because there's clearly no mechanism for moving air across it. I can be cooking in a smoke filled kitchen and it'll be happily saying Green. Bushfire smoke doesn't trigger it, so the only reason I bought it it's no good for. The only time I got it to trigger a different air quality setting is blowing a match out literally 1cm from the sensor, so I guess if my home burnt to the ground it might change to 'poor'.
I complained to Appliances Online and to Dimplex, AO fobbed me off for a 'service call' from Dimplex, which I didn't receive. Dimplex didn't get back to my direct complaint in over a week. I will never buy anything from either Appliances Online or Dimplex again and I'll be making a complaint to Fair Trading NSW.
Update! After fair trading got in touch, appliances online arranged to collect and fully refund the item. Dimplex never got back to me after multiple attempts to contact them.

sit 1.5 metres from the heater and can't feel any heat at all. There is no difference between the 1000 and 2000 settings that I can see/feel. It has a thermostat but even on high setting it never reaches a temperature where the thermostat cuts in.
I wrote to dimplex and this is their reply -
"This heater is designed for supplemental heating only and is more for aesthetics. The heater only gives out about a meter or so of radius heat and will not heat a large room".
So if you are after warmth, save your money. No-one wants to pay hundreds of dollars for a heater that doesn't heat and just looks pretty.

installed so I had high expectations, having enjoyed using a Dimplex Opti-myst ‘Lee’ model previously. The fire illumination and various lighting options were quite good, but unfortunately as soon as the heater was powered on I hated it - it emitted a loud high pitched noise and couldn’t be used if you were having a conversation, watching tv or listening to music. I measured ambient sound at 42db, and 67db heater fan was on (at 1 meter). When the I tried contacting Dimplex via the contact info on the website I got zip, nada, nothing, so ended up going back to Appliances Online who were really good and picked it up later that week and arranged a credit very soon after. The QC (quality control) on the Sherwood fireplace was also not particularly good. My unit had a scratch on the top edge of the mantle, and a few minor scratches on the metalwork of the firebox. I asked the Appliances Online support guy if they had sold me a demo/returned model but he was categoric that it would have been a new unit from Dimplex. The other point about this unit that I really disliked was that you can’t turn the heater off straight away - it runs for 2 minutes after you’ve turned it off. The Opti-myst unit didn’t need this so I found this strange. As a temporary replacement ‘fire’ I bought a Dimplex Lee which I’ll review separately (4 stars), also from Appliances Online. Overall, a really disappointing experience that could have been made so much better if Dimplex had answered my original correspondence and dealt with the problem.

for 10m2 - but the room is well insulated and shaded. However, this is no substitute for a split system because of: 1. Noise - although it's not too bad with the fan on low, still substantially louder than a SS 2. On/Off compressor operation - delivers quite cold air when running and fan only when not. I positioned the unit such that it was blowing towards my desk, which delivers an uncomfortable breeze of very cold air when cooling. The direction deflector thingy does nothing much, so I installed a deflector on the outside to send the breeze away from my desk - works a treat.
