Disappointed – After wanting an Evakool Ice box for some time, as they are supposed to be the best, and thinking I was supporting an Australian business, I bought a… Read more

60ltr infinity ice box.

Initially I wasn’t overly impressed at the thin walls and flimsy lid that actually flexes the hinges when full open under its own weight.

A test at home wasn’t any better at ice retention than my existing tropical box.

Then when looking in greater detail on the website I find they are now made in the Philippines.

Overall not as well built as expected and not made in Australia as I thought.

If companies are going to manufacture overseas, fine, but it should be made clear and there should be a drastic reduction in price to reflect this, but there isn’t it’s still a $500 esky!

Poor service, poor product – Purchased the TMDZ80L as the only solution able to fit under a roller shutter on my ute in November 2021. Fast forward a year, and the baskets have… Read more

worm through to bare metal on the product, which I am being blamed by Evakool for "overloading" as someone who solely does weekend trips, with the occasional 10 day trip over holidays amd only needing to service myself who doesn't eat much and a the 7yo kid I find this statement very hard to believe given its size. If this is their claim, you are void of warranty if you pack much more than a few water bottles and some milk in it. Took it into Evakool directly, where I was treated with blatant attitude that their product is definitely "not at fault" Yes, my holidays to tend to lead me down a few corrugated roads but according to their own product descriptions, their product should be able to contest this. Their solution whilst me standing there, was to get some rubber kitchen non slip pad (which they just so happened to have a roll of right there - leads me to believe this isn't the first issue they have had with this occurring!) Which a) isn't fit for purpose on a $1200 fridge B) Isn't hygienic at all C) is hardly a solution when the baskets are clearly faulty and have caused the issue in the first place - given the side which holds the compressor was going through exact same thing and have barely been used.

Silicone seals had all degraded and showed mould spores forming, despite regular cleaning with soapy water. Name plates had also rusted out, given it had only ever been under a roller shutter, then later into a canopy so small condensation but well ventilated, again shows a poor thought out design (they advertise this as being suitable for being in the back of open Ute's exposed to the elements)

Have seen a waeco fridge, that gets put through far worse punishment, not even show signs of any of the above

Absolutely abysmal service, attitude and product. It is currently with them to advise further with management. However, given their attitude Monday, I will be lodging a complaint with ACCC to ensure my consumer rights are being protected by a company, I was so badly wanting to support being Australian, which we are lacking so much of nowadays.

Useful but fragile – I purchased the EvaKool Wireless Fridge or Freezer Thermometer four months ago, to monitor the temperature of the LPG fridge in my home. The unit… Read more

consists of a temp sensor and transmitter unit that are mounted on or near the fridge, and a remote receiver unit that is touted to work up to 100M away from the fridge unit.

There is a small temperature display on the fridge unit, and a larger display on the remote unit, which shows the time, local temperature, and the temperature that is being displayed on the fridge unit.

My unit worked perfectly for four months, after which time the remote unit stopped displaying the fridge temperature - which would be its main function. I now have to monitor the fridge temp from the fridge unit display, which is small and not easy to read.

Considering that the neither the fridge unit, nor remote unit, have been subject to any vibration or movement, the failure of the remote display function is disappointing, to say the least.

ice packs in it, left for the rest of the day and overnight. Checked midday on the following day and one of the packs still had ice in it. (See pics, these were tiny flat ice packs). I think bigger ice bricks will last much longer but I was happy with my small ice pack experiment. What I love- The hinges are sturdy and secure. Handles are easy to grip, sturdy and secure and don’t stick out too far. Holds ice for good amount of time. Evakool 46L kept fridge temp for the whole time the ice packs were in it. Sturdy enough to sit on. Volume size is enough to hold food for a few days including ice packs. Bung plug screws in and out and has a connector to the bung hole so it can’t be lost. What I don’t love- it doesn’t come in pink!

Stay away from this fridge – Do not buy Evakools ED85 range of fridge freezer. I have owned it for 4 years and had it repaired 5 times. 3 times buy a local repair agent and twice… Read more

by Evakool themselves. It was agreed to by the warranty manager to replace the fridge as it clearly is a dud but the CEO of the company overturned the decision and sent the old fridge back saying it was running ( lets see how long for this time). Conveniently the fridge is now out of warranty!!! I have a Engle which is now 13 years old and have never sent it in for repair. Pitty Evakool cannot make a fridge to run more than a year. Do not buy this product
