it will take several years to shred the paperwork using this machine.

I can get maybe 4 pages at best into the machine at once. I could deal with that if the machine ran for more than 5 minutes before timing out for another hour or so. I even tried allowing it to stop every minute or so to try extend that time. But it doesn't seem to make any difference. It seems to time out after about 5 minutes irrespective of whether it's constant or disrupted use. It also jams easily with more than one sheet.

If you just want to shred a single sheet or 2 on the go, then this machine might be ok. But if you have a backlog of 20 sheets or more you want to shred, be prepared to spend half the day waiting for the machine to cool down after every 5 minutes of use. I ended up giving up, took a box load of my paper files to work and dumped them in the locked shredding bin.

Fellowes' Marvelous Mars A4 – I bought my Fellowes Mars A4 Laminator less than a couple of years ago. I paid $45. It was the brand that was recommended by the sales staff. … Read more

There were other brands that were a bit expensive but since Fellowes was recommended by the staff I gave it a go. I thought the price was practical; I don't need expensive ones if this brand works as well as the expensive brands. I am happy with this purchase. I never had any problem with it after almost 2 years since I bought it. It can be used for A4, A5 and A6 pocket sizes. This is a very simple laminator that is easy to operate. It is very reliable. The price is practical. It heats fast, ready to laminate and do the work in just a short waiting period. It is also very handy. I can put it on top of my computer table when I need it, and keep it inside my drawer (after use & after it has cooled down) when not in use.

4. It constantly overheats and is SO loud. When I contacted Fellowes, they didn't want to know about it. Really disappointed as we run to a very tight budget.

You get what you pay for – Bought this shredder to use at home occasionally. Cost $199 at Officeworks. Its advertised as being able to shred 8 sheets of paper at once. No idea… Read more

what sort of paper they are referring to, as its struggles to shred 4 sheets of std (70gsm) office paper at once. Even at 3 sheets its really working. Apart from that, it does the job although it takes twice as long to do it.

It’s the Best cross cut shredder I have ever owned! – It’s fast and efficient when you shred and the cross cut is a good security rating of P4. A suggestion that the paper container be enlarged by at… Read more

Good - but with limitation – I had this shredder delivered this evening, I unpacked it, read the assembly instruction sheet then read the 2 pages of the 51 page manual. The… Read more

remaining 49 pages related to other languages.

After reading the above documentation, I proceeded to start shredding single pages. The first couple of pages went through pretty good before the shredded paper began to collect and jam up along the red line in the attached photo, I tried to remove the jammed paper as instructed, to no avail. I had to turn off and unplug the shredder and gently pull the shredded out into the bin. I started shredding again only to have the same problem again, I guessed I must have been feeding the sheets in to quickly behind each other, so I tried waiting until the motor sounded like it was running free after the shredded paper had fallen into the bin, unfortunately no change. For the money out laid to purchase this shredder in comparison to my old Woolworth's Zipp Shredder I am literally disgusted. My old Zipp Shredder was purchased for approx. $70.00 in round figures, shredded reams of paper over it's 3 - 4 years of life and never gave me the grief that this shredder has in just 1 hour of it's use.

Would I recommend this shredder to anybody... No Way!

Great Home Office Shredder – This is the first shredder I have owned, I chose it because it is cross cut for security, can take staples, credit cards and CDs. It is quite noisy… Read more

in its operation, but can shred up to 8 sheets at a time and has a reasonably powerful motor, enough for normal home office use. So far happy I am happy with this recent purchase.

Great result – Good for home and office. Easy to use. Comes with 10 x A4 80 Micron Laminate Pouches. Really quick to heat up (1 min). Small footprint and does not… Read more

take up much room. The laminate works even when you use multiple prints in one pouch. 80 microns is a good thickness for everyday requirements. Really pleased with this laminator. We chose it over others because it has a release button (not used so far), hot and cold laminating, accepts three different pouch thicknesses, auto shut off.

years of old business documents and it hasn't skipped a beat, it just keeps going after a few years of frequent use. The wheels are great when moving it about the office and the shredded paper drawer is easily removable when throwing away your shredded documents. I do look after it. I allow it to cool down when the overheating warning light comes on, I remove all staples from documents before shredding and I perform an oiling with generic shredder oil at the first signs of it slowing down a little. It wasn't the cheapest option to buy but I'm really happy with it. Recommended!

Gets the Job Done – A recent purchase at Officeworks got me a fantastic little paper shredder – the Fellowes Powershred M-5C. It is super compact so you can “hide… Read more

it” in a side cabinet.

Pretty quick and does what it is supposed to do – cross-cuts the paper and makes confetti of the important old documents you need to have destroyed.

Typical of all paper shredders – if you put off doing your shredding to last and you have a big pile, well, it overheats, and then you must wait for the 30 minutes or so for the machine to “cool-down” which is a pain with all of these types of small machines.

But if you do not put off your paper shredder duties and have a small office or just need to get rid of those important old documents – the price was worth it.

Papers Please! – We bought this for home use (as opposed to office) and the primary purpose was not to simply shred the odd bit of work paper but to shred everything… Read more

in sight that could be re-tasked (recycled) for garden use. This is not the orthodox use of this machine and in some cases, probably warranty bending BUT it does exactly what we want! I did an unreasonable amount of research on these machines via Blogs, Youtube, other product review sites etc to make sure this kind of machine is capable enough to perform this task. There's lots of reading and many people for and against. Those against were really only saying beware of the inks and other chemicals that go into the ground as opposed to these machines being unable to perform the task of home recycling. After all, I wanted this to do lots of cardboard and that was a very specific requirement which I actually found other people doing and that sealed the deal for me.

In the time we've had it (since Aug 2019) I have shredded everything. Every kind of paper you can think of including all those waxed and glossy brochures down to tissue paper wrapping paper. You can grind up to 18 sheets thick which allowed me to do a lot of boxes too. Not the kind you get a kitchen table sent in but all those product boxes that contain biscuits, modems, cornflakes, toys etc etc. The machine hasn't missed a beat. I did try the harder corrugated cardboard on some bigger boxes and got a 70/30 hit rate with some pieces just not making it through.

It's got good safety features (you can't put your fingers in it as it cuts out if you try) and if you remove the bin it does likewise. The other important things to note are the length of time you can stand there grinding stuff through before it overheats. This one allows for 30 minutes of constant use which is more than enough and it stays pretty quiet. Those were some of the biggest selling points when you compare so many of them. But it's not a cheap unit. You can get cheap ones at Big W but I wouldn't bother. Wait for deals to get this and you can save heaps off the retail. You get what you pay for, so go with quality.

I highly recommend this for homes wanting to recycle their waste and get it into the garden. It's fast, quiet, efficient and very durable. Do yourself a favour and go through your house, remove all that paperwork you've kept for no good reason (special occasion cards, work expenses, tax docs, old manuals, old bills, bank transactions, superannuation reports.... the list goes on) and turn them into pulp. No-one can reconstruct the information as it has a security rating on the output that means it cannot be reconstructed. So much better than binning it or dumping it.

into a shredder. After evaluating our needs we compared shredders at Shredders Direct and came to the conclusion we needed to look at a shredder with an auto-feeder. I was recommended the Fellowes AutoMax because I wanted to shred up to 300 sheets and didn't want to have to worry about taking off paper clips or staples or even separating crumpled paper. This machine is as good as it was recommended. Our shredding is effortless we simply open the shredder drawer drop the paper in and get on with our tasks while it does its work. The bin is fairly good too so we don't have to empty it too often.
