batteries every night, if you pay for a subscription, we will automatically upload your photos into GOPRO cloud storage, that worked well, if I lost the GoPro all of my data would be safely in the cloud, no more changing cards that are full each day. Now that sounded good, until. Yep until I got back, and tried to download all or some of my footage to use in my Video Editor (Go Pro have recently stopped the Quik application for Apple. I am not going to edit after a trip on a small IPhone. I have wasted literary weeks trying to satisfactorily download those clips/footage so that I can edit my my Video Editor, looking for answers, this problem has been going on for years and years with GOPRO and they still have not fixed the problem of DOWNLOADING, not UPLOADING but DOWNLOADING that footage. Look at the net and see all of the comments about the same problem, people are irritated and angry that Go Pro don’t appear to be fixing the problem. Very simple problem from your end: Clear and concise instruction on how to download footage stored in Go Pro to either and external HDD or to a computer, and for those external tech people and well versed from outside GoPro who must have some solution, are still complaining that there is a 25 clip restriction put on downloads at one time. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT-Avoid GoPro all together – I bought 2 HERO10's just over 12 months ago. Haven't been happy from the start with their battery quality and overheating issues. They have only had… Read more
minimal use and not subjected to harsh conditions. One of the cameras has completely stopped working out of the blue. GoPro will not replace as it's 'out of the warranty period', instead trying to push me into their scammy subscription service (which I've had past issues with i.e., was a hidden subscription when I purchased) whereby I can then get a replacement for $150. I've seen hundreds of posts online of people complaining about multiple GoPro products having issues and support not doing replacements etc. - just do yourself a favour and completely avoid this company. Trash. Perhaps going to look into DJI.

THe most miserable customer service. Think twice before you purchase!!! – GoPro 10-05-2022 Begin of this year I purchased an extended guarantee for my GoPro 4 Silver in mint condition via Google Pay. This should guarantee… Read more
that in case of a technical failure the camera would be exchanged or repaired. There was an intermittent technical fault that happened, and I have been for many hours on the phone and spoke to a service engineer at GoPro. During the telephone conversation, supported by email on the Internet, I provided all necessary details, receipts, and other supporting materials. The case was clear to the support person and the case was escalated to the senior supporting management. Ever since I get emails with the same questions about the camera and the details of the fault on a daily basis. The company tries to go manage around without fulfilling their contractual obligations of insurance I have paid for. Google Pay does not bother much and cannot be reached anyhow. Be aware that a company such as GoPro is constantly being on the reported edge of bankruptcy and in many cases will under no circumstances fulfil its guaranteed obligations. Much lower in price and of the same or similar quality and technology you can purchase a camera of the same style on Amazon or eBay saving yourself hundreds of dollars. These different branded cameras are manufactured at the same Chinese factories as the GoPro cameras only branded with a different name and interestingly, they honour the guaranteed obligations better and quicker than GoPro does. If you have a fault with an action camera such as GoPro and purchased the item from Amazon or eBay, you have no difficulties getting your money back if you are unhappy with the product. GoPro does not care at all as we have learned from my case. “Fact of the anything about GoPro”, please think before you purchase and find out if another brand does not have a better or a feature similar product for far less money. Avoid GoPro.

nice quality results - small and light (and rugged/waterproof)
Con - Slow transfer speeds between camera and app on phone - Not so great in low light conditions - Bit of a learning curve attached - Don't bother with battery saving mode as the video quality is unusable
I have been using mine for about a month now. If the lighting is good then you get some good quality shots in hi res. After transferring them to the app, you can stabilize the videos and even "punch in" to a linear lens (to lose the fish eye look) with decent quality (or even punch in to a portrait aspect ratio).
My main issue is that it is slow to actually hook it up to the app and the transfer speeds are very slow. A 1 minute video takes about 5 to 7 minutes to transfer to your phone.
Also, I ended up paying extra for a basic subscription to the Quik app so that I could save and export my edits (about $15 per annum). It was worth it to me to avoid having to export all the files to hi res video on my phone and then edit them manually. The auto editing functionality is decent and probably about 80% as good as I could do manually anyways (and without the hassle).
Bottom line, this is not a tool for professionals, but also probably not for beginners either (as there is a learning curve attached to using the app). I just wish I could transfer video faster as well. You cannot transfer them via the cable for this model (only wireless).
Also, to change the resolution from 4k to 1080 you need to turn on battery saving mode. This does lead to smaller file sizes, but when you punch in from this format, the quality suffers greatly. I started out using battery saving mode, but eventually stopped because of video quality issues.
GoPro mini steer clear – I bought two of these. Mistake number 1 was buying direct from GoPro online. I got a good price, but later realized I had zero consumer protection.… Read more
Lesson 1 pay extra and buy from an Australian retailer, then you can return the goods and let them deal with issues. So, the cameras functioned ok at first, but I quickly had lots of overheating issues. Then they would suddenly just freeze. I have a You Tube channel WellHooked WA and the ongoing issues with my two GoPro's ruined my filming and publishing. One camera finally died completely exactly one week out of the so called 1 year warrranty. You cannot replace the batteries on the GoPro mini and they have no serviceable parts. You know it's a lemon when the local iPhone guy in the mall won't even touch it. Product support is non-existent with a total reliance on chatbots. The other GoPro mini still works in fits and starts, but I can't rely on it. I do have other GoPro models which work ok, but I bought them from JB HiFi and if there's a problem, under Australian consumer protection law I deal with the retailer, and they replace the faulty product. The only positive is that the mini truly is mini and one can wear it on a head strap all day. But not much point if it doesn't function properly. My recommendation is, don't buy a GoPro mini as they were an experiment which failed abysmally. Paying over $800 for 12 months of misfiring functionality is painful.

hero 6. The 360 camera often wont power up and U need to remove batter then place on charger and remove SD card to get it to start. Can't do that when out on my bike.. The hero 6 has soud dropping out all the time and randomly changes resolution. I got so annoyed that I purchased a DJI Action 4. Yay it simply works every time. I think the GoPro is a great camera, and produces hight resolution than DJI. They just need to make them work properly. I wouldn't get into a hot looking plane if they kept crashing.. Whats the point of having an action camera if you keep missing the action. So if you want to go pro. Choose something other than a GoPro. I not here to promote another camera, but I am very happy with my cange to DJI Action 4 at this stage.
I will never buy a go pro product ever again! Unfortunately I had an 11 that kept overheating. Sent it back for a replacement and while a little bit… Read more
better still overheats within 5 mins of recording.
It shows that GoPro will put out faulty products without caring about their customers. There are plenty of other action cams out there, I would strongly suggest not going with a GoPro.
