Having upgraded from a smaller LG, this Hitachi has done nothing but impress so far. It's quiet, cools well, have had no issues so far. The touch… Read more

screen on the front is good, it's very spacious, the inbuilt ice machine works great, no plumbing required. It is quite tall and wide, and collects fingerprints easily, but these are easy to wipe off. The vacuum compartment is small and it's hard to say whether it's worth using over the regular drawers but it's functional.

I bought the Hitachi 638L because of its stunning design, but I deeply regret it. After only 5 months of use, the unit died completely. There is zero… Read more

power when plugged in—it’s essentially an expensive piece of furniture now.

To make matters worse, Hitachi’s after-sales service is abysmal. I was told I have to wait an entire week just for a technician to come and look at it. For a premium refrigerator, this level of quality and service is unacceptable. Save your money and buy a brand that actually stands behind its products.

AC on one of our rentals in the tropics, Hitachi split system cooling. It spent more time waiting for repair man than actually working. The below is… Read more

all under warranty.

First started off leaking condensate through to the room. Each time the repairman struggled to find why, only that it overflowed with no obvious blockages. Multiple occurrences.

Then the remote failed, around $170 for a new one and Hitachi refused to cover under warranty. Yeah na. So a generic one was sourced that failed to work as well despite saying it was compatible. The electrician sorted it but more cost and probably more than buying the genuine part so beware of trying to mate generic remotes into your system.

Then it had issues with the communication to the out door unit, another warranty fix. Later the indoor unit wasn't firing up unless the manual start button pressed warranty again.

Lastly now the warranty is out the outdoor unit has totally failed. The whole lot is going to the tip!

The warranty mob are painful to deal with, rude and stonewalling. We threatened to escalate on more than one occasion before they came to the party.

A/C units due to being in the far north were properly serviced and cleaned regularly.

I would strongly recommend not using this product.

This front loader nails the basics: it’s whisper-quiet and delivers a great clean while saving on utilities. The auto-dose feature is a game changer… Read more

for detergent, but the "always-on" softener default is a major oversight. It prevents a true "set and forget" workflow since you have to override the softener setting for every individual load.

Good Fridge with Good build quality – Fridge is spacious with good build quality. I cannot feel the noise levels. Also food quality is well preserved. The vacuum compartment is quite handy. Compared to my earlier experience Samsung refrigerator which is troublesome, Hitachi is a gem.

Very space efficient – Huge volume for the space. Great option for limited spaces. Good insulation means the manufacturer only requires a 5mm gap each side so will fit in… Read more

as little as 835mm (instead of 30-50mm requiring 885-925mm). The door is similar to a custom build-in style refrigerator. Unlike a typical French door with all the bulk on the outside, the doors can open 90 degrees against a wall with only ~30mm gap instead of 200mm or more! Japanese made reputation. The quality in detailing and materials is obvious when cross-shopping. All drawers are extremely flexible and well thought out. Easily removable for cleaning. Icemaker, vacuum compartment and rapid freezing features quite useable and intuitive. A well thought out design that stood out.

Hitachi: quiet, cold and sleek in dark silver – I love this fridge. We bought it in Sept 2022, and everything is a perfect stable cold in the fridge and freezing in the freezer. After about 18… Read more

mths, it became really noisy even though everything else was still working perfectly, but Hitachi has a 5 year warranty.

They replaced the fan and it's back to nice and quiet. Yay!
