We were excited to purchase a new Honda ZRV. We have been long time Honda owners & excited to have a smaller SUV type car suitable for both daily… Read more

driving & holidays. Over the course of the first 18 months of owning the new car we have experienced water coming through down the door windows at varying levels of severity. We notified Honda twice & on the second occasion they determined that the Honda-installed roof racks were at fault as they utilized a clamp system that clips through the door & allows water to enter the cabin. The Honda service team determined that there is no fix for this problem & have had to remove the roof racks from the car. Now we have an expensive car that we want to use for holidays etc & can't pack anything on the roof which we need to do to carry all needed. Had we known this at the time of purchase we would have gone to Toyota, Subaru, Hyundai, etc....any of the alternatives that offer similar cars with better designs that don't have compromised integrity. Unfortunately the customer service team at Honda don't have the empathy to appreciate the impact on us & have tried to fob us off with a petrol voucher & free service instead of finding an appropriate resolution (resulting in a safely functioning full version of the contracted car) or full refund. In my communication with the Honda Customer Care Manager he overtly stated this is a minor matter as opposed to the major fault it absolutely is (to us personally & objectively by consumer law). He went on to suggest we could retain the roof racks & put them on & off as needed, like this is the way we dreamed to use our car (...I guess we could choose to only travel on sunny days to avoid cabin flooding & when we have time to muck around with roof rack installs & removal!!!). We will now be forced to seek legal action to resolve this despite Australian Consumer Laws being in place to outline this matter warrants a better outcome. Further to this problem, our previous car was a Honda HRV that was found to leak water through the sunroof drainage. Honda identified this problem & promised us it was resolved only to find so much water had entered the cabin we ended up with mold in the cabin we could never get rid of. Can't believe we are experiencing another similar problem with a second new car from the same company. Save yourself a headache & check out alternatives.

Reliable mid size SUV, have bought it second hand and sold after 150K KM, didn't face any major issues, despite I missed few services, there was oil seepage but not sure if it was common issue with others, overall its a safer SUV to ride with family

Bought a new Honda HRV in late 2016. In 2021 during 50k service a transmission oil leak was confirmed by Honda dealer. Vehicle still in warranty at… Read more

this time.Action was to monitor. At next service the leak was again confirmed and leak was supposedly remedied by replacing transmission housing seal (2023) at a cost to me of $960 as the vehicle was now out of warranty. 16 months later (2025) there is still an oil leak this time the Honda dealer says that the leak is due to porosity of the transmission housing casting. From a literature search, it appears that the cracking evident in the photos is due to a defective casting process, a phenomenum know as "rats tails", this is not something which develops in time, it is a manufacturing defect caused by incorrect temperature control during the casting process. QAQC processes should prevent defective components like this one being used. Honda Australia have been contacted about supplying a replacement transmission and they have refused. A case has now been raised with consumer protection so we shall see how this progresses. Update - After Honda Australia was contacted by Consumer Protection they agreed that the fault was not due to wear and tear and agreed to pay for the repairs. I should not have needed to refer this case to Consumer Protection as logic and common sense should have prevailed!!

and customer service to match. Have reported this to Honda and was told I should have towed my car to a Honda dealer a week after this happened so they could have a look, as if I can be without my car whilst they investigate to likely tell me it’s out of warranty. My recommendation is don’t buy one

Best Honda I have had – I have had 6 Honda's over the last 20 odd years. This has proven to be the best. It drives well, comfortable for long journeys and city/suburban… Read more

driving. Averages 8.7 litres per 100 kls. Speedo reading is now a spot under 100,000 kls, I have just replaced original tyres. I bought it new in 2016 and have had it regularily serviced, although during COVID it was difficult as the dealership I bought the car from was removed as a preferred Honda Dealership and Honda wouldn't honour my warranty when the front drivers seat developed a small tear in the leather. I finally had it repaired by a automotive upholsteror at a cot of $300. The vehicle still responds well when required and is still serviced with Honda parts. One major drawback is the GPS, which is out of date and expensive to update.

EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE ON A NEW VEHICLE Purchased a new Honda ZR-V HEV LX from Western Sydney Honda for delivery on the 23/05/25. On pickup or… Read more

collection day on arrival at dealership we were advised that the vehicle had been damaged on the front fender, due to either negligence whilst off loading or during final clean. On inspection by ourselves it became apparent the “scratch” was more than a scratch. The vehicle had either driven over something or been dragged over an object resulting in the scratch turning into severe underneath damage from the front of the vehicle to right underneath the engine(see attacked pics) The dealer did advise repairs would be undertaken but had not inspected the vehicle properly. We had to crawl underneath the car to check the damage which included gashes, torn out securing fender bolts and a very long deep scrape/gash underneath. On contacting Honda Australia it gets diabolical as there response time is so slow, in excess of 48 hours, the only communication was to say (abbreviated of course) we will look into it. Having fully paid for a car which I have not received, have not had an update on from any parties concerned either. Honda service is clearly not on par for what you would expect from a vehicle manufacturer or supplier. This is so disappointing to encounter. Honda clearly needs a review of their operations and on how to handle “brand new damaged cars”. I would expect a call/email or message from management or the dealer. In a nutshell, you sell cars that you yourselves damage then pass off as new??? To tell a buyer of your products that sorry it’s damaged but will be fixed and then it’s “new” again is pathetic and really bad service. Let’s all see how this works out. I can see a ACCC situation coming!
