in place when I put it together. I know I did nothing to the fan unless I have gremlins in my home. It didn't even fall all the way to the floor as it was leaning up against my ottaman. Due to its cheap plastic that it's made of too frightened to push it any further than I've already tried to get it back together. Just 6 months old and I would've been better to buy a cheaper fan.
