How do they do it? – I bought this very nice guitar today from a local music store for $225.00. With the exception of new but poorly wound strings the instrument looks to… Read more

be new. It does not have the huge pickguard that most picture I've seen have, and since I am not a country buff I said 'Amen" to that. It looks nice with no pick guard. Ibanez alway has monster sized headstocks on their instruments, which while I'm not crazy about certainly is a signature characteristic. For me after playability is considered, it's all about tone. This big boy has tone to spare. Big, rich, woody, deep tones. Sounds I would not expect in a guitar anywhere near that price. Nice find for me. Check one out, it might be a nice find for you! It has very nice rich deep tone that will be sweet to record with, and a very playable neck. It's big. It's about as big as they get. That's okay cause I'm a big guy, but it could be too much guitar for a small or medium sized player.

Nice Solid Guitar – great sounds was easy to set up, the pickup is fantastic, nice long sustained tone and the volume and level knobs actually are really good not like most other guitars. Would recommend.

could and this just stood out in terms of sound and feel.

Great sound, came setup really well- quite low. I like the back of the neck which is a matt finish. So easy to play its like I'm a better bass player with this thing. Its also quite light and attractive. It replaces my older Ibanez SR900, which replaced a string of P, J and other basses. Playability

It's blue for a reason! – I bought this guitar secondhand about 5 years ago, as I was getting back into playing. I've bought a few more since, but I still really like this… Read more

one. It's not perfect, but it's perfectly playable. It's good for blues, rock, jazz, and probably a whole lot more. As many do, I felt the pickups were on the muddy side, unless you just play clean. A simple fix for that was to replace the standard ceramic magnets for alnico 2 magnets. This cleaned them up very nicely. Obviously you can put what magnet appeals to you in, I happen to like 2's. I went on Ebay for these, cheaper, and easier than installing new pickups. It also gives you an idea of which way you want to go. I also replaced the nut with a bone one, some go graphite, I can't comment on them as I've never used graphite, but the bone was an improvement, not that the standard plastic one was terrible. I don't use the tremolo a lot, which is probably a good thing as I run 9-42 strings. If you use the tremolo, then you may want to run at least 10-46's, just to help tuning stability. A little graphite on the nut grooves helps here to. I like my action low too. No problems there. The upper neck isn't as accessible as some others, but it's not a deal breaker. It's not a fat guitar, similar to an ES 335 in width, but it doesn't have a centre block like a 335. All in all this is a nice feeling guitar with plenty of scope for personalisation without breaking the bank. I paid $450 with a case. It's weight also won't break your back.
