be set for the oven to work. And no matter how many times I’ve tried to set it, it periodically turns off during cooking, often ruining the meal. It’s an utter st^pid design, seemingly by people who hate their customers.

New lease of life for my Ilve Cooktop – My very expensive 90cm free standing Ilve cooktop / oven has been great for almost 20 years. Being a handyman, I've replaced fan forced element,… Read more
Thermostat, Top element, hinges (twice), oven lights twice, including those ridiculously expensive glass covers. Lately, though, my large "triple ring" wok burner gas hob, has been flaming from under the hob......This was caused by the warping of the aluminium hob, not sitting on the stainless steel outlet flatly. A replacement unit was $252, + postage......that's crazy!! I could almost buy a new cooktop for that price. A much more palatable alternative, was to just buy the aluminium base at $88....still pricey, but affordable (just). It took patience and about 45min but the results were perfect. A quick clean or the brass fittings with a wire brush, and it slotted right together and sat on the cooktop easily. I love my Ilve oven, and if you look after it, it will last a very long time.

the burner. Once the knob is released flame goes off. I called ILVE and technician replaced some senser and left. Withing one week same problem.
NOW biggest problem is when I am calling ILVE they are saying they are no longer responsible for this product and go to World Wide Appliance (WWA). When going to WWA they are send us to General White Goods for Repair or Eurolink. As a customer I am not supposed to know all this ILVE is not taking any responsibility. AS a result I am disappointed with this product which cost more than AUD $4000 from Hervey Norman. Please think twice before you buy ILVE product in Australia. Thanks

earlier, and they had installed a beautiful Ilve stove and oven. It had hardly been used - but we had trouble from the moment we moved in. The buttons that you use to change the time, temperature stick in, so it is impossible to set the time, timer, etc. The second oven didn't work at all. Worst of all - it ran very hot, we would set the temperature but things in the oven would always burn. We contacted ilve but they said - bad luck, no warranty when you didn't purchase the unit yourself. So we paid for a service call all to come out. He said there is a faulty computer board in the unit and it is not regulating the temperature so it just heats up and up and up. So he has to get the spare parts - although he wasn't really sure if he could fix it. He said the unit would have cost $20,000 - and now it is useless and it's going to cost us a bomb just to get it to cook like a $1,000 oven. Ilve doesn't care, their distributor doesn't care - so be careful of these large expensive ovens. I find it hard to believe that such an expensive piece just doesn't work after basically no use and 24 months. I bought an oven thermometer and discovered oven doesn’t only run hot, the temperature randomly changes for no reason. Yesterday we set it for 140, and it settled at 160 for a while, then randomly went to 180. The small oven also is 20 degrees out. The purpose of this review is just to say that even the expensive, quality manufacturers can produce a dud model, and if you get stuck with it, basically you might have to throw it away as the service technician ( recommended by Ilve) said he had no idea what is wrong and recommends replacing the computer board. We are thinking maybe we just get rid of it no buy something else as we may replace the board, spend thousands doing that and problems keep happening. Might be best to cut our losses. Also what is disappointing is the total lack of response from Ilve and lack of curiosity about why one of their top of the line ovens - doesn’t work. You’d think they’d want to know.
Update - the service guy rang and said it might be possible to replace the mother boards and… Read more (+2 replies)
