A cut above the rest – Looking for a multitool that will leave you feeling like a survival superstar? The Leatherman Signal is your guy! With its 19 tools, including a… Read more

firestarter and a whistle, you'll be ready for anything that comes your way. It's the Swiss Army Knife's cooler, more rugged cousin. Don't let its small size fool you, this thing is a tool-toting beast!

The Leatherman Signal is not your average multitool. It's built for the great outdoors and designed to help you tackle any survival situation. The tool includes pliers, wire cutters, a knife blade, saw, can and bottle openers, a diamond-coated file, and more.

One of the standout features of the Signal is its ferrocerium firestarter rod, which lets you start a fire even in damp conditions. And if you find yourself lost or in an emergency, the Signal's whistle can help alert rescuers to your location.

The tool also has a sharp and durable 2.73-inch combo blade made from high-carbon stainless steel, which is easy to sharpen and can hold an edge well. Plus, the tool's locking mechanism ensures that all the blades and tools stay in place when in use.

The Leatherman Signal is a must-have for any adventurer, survivalist, or outdoors enthusiast. It's tough, reliable, and versatile enough to handle any challenge you throw its way. So whether you're camping, hiking, or just need a reliable multitool for everyday use, the Leatherman Signal is a great choice.

Best multitool ever – I've had an original Leatherman Supertool since 1994, and added a Skeletool about ten years ago. The Surge, however, is the tool I have wanted all… Read more

along. I like it so much I'm about to buy a second to keep in the car. Why?

1. It feels like a real tool, not just a small emergency-only maybe-you-can-get-way-with-it tool. The downside to this is that it's larger and heavier than many other tools.

2. The interchangeable T-shank means I can put any jigsaw blade on it I like.

3. The opening and closing of everything is so good and so fast. The blades just flick out and lock. The Supertool in comparison is so clumsy and awkward.

4. The scissors are large enough to actually work.

5. I did buy the bit set to keep with it in the car.

I mean, overall, it's just got everything on it and feels really good. I have the black oxide one, which feels a bit less slippery than the polished one (not that that was ever a problem for me with the other tools).

also carry a pocket knife along with it. Having the S30V blade on this upgraded model removes the need for a separate knife. This is now the only thing I carry EDC.

New leatherman not a patch on the old ones – Had an older Leatherman before, which was fablulous, so when I lost it, I replaced it with the Wingman. There are a few things that really bug me,… Read more

the scissors have no spring (unlike my old one) so you have to snip, manually open, then snip again. The phillips head screwdriver doesn't work on most screws. And no corkscrew either (not a big deal in Australia now, but a problem travelling in Europe). But WORST of all, you can't even open a bottle of beer with it. We had 4 people, all familiar with Leathermans, all trying at a recent picnic (I thought maybe I was being a bit slow), but no, none of us could get the top off. Best we could do was cut a hole with the can opener, then try and lever it off. Very very disappointing.

Great workhorse! – I have been so pleased with my Supertool 300 that I thought it needs to be reviewed for the 8 years I have owned it. I bought this model because it… Read more

had the strongest pliers. Overall a great tool, which I have pretty much abused. I broke the small screwdriver when applying far too much torque on a stubborn screw. I just ground it back and reshaped it on a bench grinder, near perfect again. I have also over torqued the pliers, loosening the pivot so it struggled to cut copper wire. I fixed it by giving the centre a few good taps with a cold chisel point on a vice to tighten it up - as good as new again (see photo)! I have not sent it in for warranty repair, as the damage was my fault, and it is not really an issue. I took one star off only because the tools are hard to access when closed up. However, I did not realise this would be a nuisance when I bought it. If buying one now, which I might just do, I would get a Surge for big pliers, or a Wave+ for carrying. Both of these have tools accessed from the closed position. However, the ST300 has been a great performer since 2014, and I will enthusiastically buy another Leatherman. I clean it with Innox every now and again, and sharpen the blade with a diamond file. I especially love the Philips driver, which you can purchase a bit driver to attach to. The saw works great for cutting holes in Gyprock. Well done, Leatherman! Purchased from "A Man's Toyshop, Rockhampton" (online)
