Updated Mark 2018 2022 2024 Martec Linear MBHL 1000W reviews. Previously after updating the wiring and insulation by my electrician on my second unit… Read more
since April 2024 the 1000w globe has now blown. On inspection the wire filament in the globe has failed the globe connections for the unit seem to be ok. It’s been 18 months since second unit was fitted with the wire and connections upgraded. We mainly use the heat lamp in winter. I have cleaned all dust off the rotating round fan flutes and cleaned the interior housing. Haven’t fitted a new 1000W globe as yet. Cost for new ones are average $40 Note I didn’t have the fan on with the heat lamp on at the same time when the lamp blew so me thinking that the fan should always be on when using the heat lamp as it would be a cooling affect on the heat lamp.

Our local community hall bought and had installed 4 large Martec ceiling fans approximately 6 months ago. One of these fans failed within 3 months.… Read more
They had hardly been used up to that point. Martec agreed to supply another but refused to provide the hire of the scissor lift for the removal of the failed unit and installation of the replacement. This meant that our hall ( a registered charity) had to pay in excess of $1600 for the removal of the failed unit and the installation of the new one due to their low standard of customer service and quality of their product.
These lights are crap. I work from home and they turn off on there own – This company sells fans that I cant afford to fix. They say its the frequency and thats why the light turns off as other remotes may be running on… Read more
the same frequency. I have four of these fans. I hve tried to change the frequency where there is 16 different patterns on 1 fan. It has taken me four days to do this until the light does not turn off. It is looking like only 1 frequency working so far. Than once I get this right I will probably have stuffed my other light frequencies in the other room than. They have offered for someone to come out and fix it at a cost of $150 well Ive sat here for four days and still its not right. I have to unbolt screws from the ceiling to get to this which is so difficult to get to. Now they have offerered a refund on one fan, like now I have to get a electrician to uninstall it. They want it back in the same box and this has been going on for two years. DONT BUY THESE FANS. Your warranty does not cover the frequency errors and if you have four fans your going to spend your life sorting it.
Agreed. We’ve had the same issue with our fan. It seems as though it doesn’t extract any steam from our small bathroom. We’ve had the fascia replaced… Read more
twice bc the light doesn’t work, at our own expense. Martec didn’t supply labor. Wouldn’t recommend this brand or product.

Great product – It extracts the steam and prevents moisture on the walls the heaters are great the downlights create shadows on your face when standing in front of the mirror. Other wise install make-up lighting. Very happy other wise.
Not great – Just bought this unit for our bathroom, and though the exhaust and light are adequate, the heat lamps barely give off any heat. Even standing right… Read more
beneath them (the roof is not high, and I am not short), you can barely feel any heat coming off them. Will be returning asap and purchasing something with a better heat option.
Looks good but that’s about it – Installed about 3 years ago - always noticed condensation dripping from fan and plastic surrounds - checked ducting wasn’t blocked, checked air flow… Read more
which seemed to be ‘OK’ (I would have thought for a ‘high flow’ machine it would have been more). We lived with it until now when I heard an electrical arcing sound and one of the lights flashing. Turns out the condensation is leaking onto the light sockets on the rail directly underneath the fan. Poor design.
I bought two of these three years ago and I had to replace both of them in this period of time. They cannot provide parts for the lights. I would not be recommending this product to anyone.

Martec Albatros good but bit disapointed – Whisper quiet. remote seems to be designed in what would be back to front. " 1 " is the higher setting and "5" is the lowest. quit annoying. On high… Read more
speed fan blow far amount but no were near what was expected for 84". Glad we didn't buy "Big #rse Fan" may have performed the same. Had to drop fan lower on extension pole to allow for more air output which helped but this through a wobble into fan when in use.
Buyer Beware – I've got two small bathrooms( toilet and shower) and electrician got these when renovating. Says they have air extraction of 250m/hr which was… Read more
supposed to be right for the size of our bathrooms. Absolutely useless. Does not remove steam or odours, which was a nuisance as both bathrooms are ensuites. Don't buy this. Have replaced these with another brand and better extraction. The bathrooms that I have used it in is 3m/2m approx and the other one is even smaller.
As per other reviews the extraction is very poor. It's says it has the same extraction volume as the unit it replaced - another brand (Ventair),… Read more
with which we never had any moisture issues. Now this new Martec unit leaves the room and mirrors steamed up at every shower and takes hours to clear the room. Heating is excellent. Light is good. Extraction is well below average. We will have to install a second fan now or revert to our old unit and patch the ceiling!
Recommended Martec Seaforth DC52 – I have 3 of the Martec Seaforth DC 52 Smart Ceiling fans with remote control and light. They are very quiet, the remotes are convenient and they look great. Haven't had any problems with any of them.

bathroom. So we can't replace it. Meanwhile it's been a week since I filed a claim with Martec, followed up twice, no response. Tried calling, they direct you to the website. They make you jump through so many hoops, and just expect you to have no light in a room until they get around to it - whenever that might be. Disgusting lack of service.
Martec Uno - Terrible design and build quality – Just bought and installed 5 of these as requested by a customer in bathroom and ensuite. Never used them before. Absolutely terrible quality.… Read more
Mounting system is pathetic makes it difficult to get them to sit tight against the ceiling. Why they didnt use springs like all the down lights use is beyond me. Structure is very flimsy and the height of the fitting is different between each lamp which makes the lights sit at different heights. Really bad quality if you can avoid this "uno" product buy something different. If I get asked to install these again I will be having a discussion with the customer based on what I have seen. Again I cant stress enough how bad the quality is.

whirring sounds and were annoying, especially in our bedroom. My wife and I have the fan remote on the bed between us so that we can adjust the fan during the night. So you can imagine how disappointed we are with these new fans that make a very loud beep every time you adjust them – even to turn on the light. I’m not sure of the logic behind why anyone wants a loud beeping sound from a fan. Martec tell us you can't turn the beeping off. How bloody ridiculous! I guess we just wasted over $2000. I'll never buy Martec again.
Do not buy – Had 2 of these ceiling fans installed in our house and have had them running for 7 months. They're VERY noisy. HAd to have the electrician back twice… Read more
to try and fix it, but now trying to send them back to Alstra Lighting (where I purchased them). Will be changing brands after seeing many bad reviews.
This review is specifically about the Heat Tube for Martec's 3 in 1 Bathroom heater. With this in mind, I would also not recommend the unit itself… Read more
for the reasons you will shortly read. Firstly the heat tube throws off a negligible amount of warmth and our bathroom is a small 2.5 x 1.5m space. The tube don't last very long. And specifically it is important to call out we area 2 person household and the number of times we put the heat tube on in winter is truly not a lot, and the duration the tube would be on is a couple of minutes at any one time. Since we have had this unit (and the other in the spare bathroom, which is even more rarely used) we have replaced the tube in the bathroom we use for the 3rd time now and the rarely used bathroom 2 times. If the heat tubes price was low, you may over-look this. But I've just paid $39.60 for a replacement tube today and I'll be lucky to get one winter out of it. Given the low level of heat the tubes puts out, I'd be better looking for something different to take the chill off the bathroom.
Update on second unit. I have taken out the complete unit as it has failed again. Same problem… Read more
