A very capable and reliable camera – I bought an F60 in the US last year for US$19. A very easy camera to use and very reliable; giving good sharp pictures from the single focus point. I… Read more

use it with an Nikkor 28-80mm D lens and also a 28-80mm G lens. The C123 batteries cost a bit more than AA batteries but they last a long time. Today I picked up an F60D, that has date and time print functions, for AUD$15. I don’t need two of these but I just like the look and feel of them. Ken Rockwell (US) really canned the F60 in his review and recommended the N65 or higher, I have an N65 too; but I rarely use it because it feels like a toy even though it has more functions. When you consider how people snap 000’s of shots with their Smartphones nowadays

I don’t see why a simple to operate F60 is not at good choice for today’s style of photography if you use film. My only criticism is of the flash; which sometimes overexposes faces on inside night time shots.

happy with the controls.

I decided to add a Nikon D7500 to the collection as I could not afford the D500. Let's just say the D7500 is outstanding value for money and the image quality is fantastic. Great for low light work and lenses like my old Sigma 150-500 which wasn't happy on the D5500 are a joy to use again.

The AF is excellent and the speed is fantastic. The controls are where they should be.

Note everything is perfect, The menu could do with some improvement and the weather sealing seems to have gone, especially around the card reader door.

Value for money - excellent. Performance - excellent. Weight - a step up from the D5500 but lighter than the D500.

Love this camera! – Awesome features, takes great photos and is exactly what I wanted in a camera!

If you're looking for a lightweight dslr this is the best, because it has a real optical viewfinder. Every other camera is either heavier, or compromises on a feature. I recommend the kit lens it comes with or the older 35mm af-s lens.

amazing lens – Been using this lens with my Nikon D5500 for the past three years and it never let me down. Only negative might be the slow auto focus but apart from that it's great in low light and amazing for bokeh effects

for DX, beating the 35 mm 1.8 by several years.

It has a focal length roughly equivalent to a 16 mm fish-eye for the 135 format and consequently has a huge depth of field. This is useful for getting right up close to subjects and still having the background in focus. This does present another issue however, which is that you can get dust on the front of the lens and on the sensor appearing in your photographs. Interesting fish-eye view, good build quality Huge depth of field shows the dust, distortion

Noticed body corroded after 11 months. Nikon Aculon A30 10 X 25 Binnoculars – Bought from Camera House QLD who were good to deal with. Used solely for Archery target shooting each week. Used around my neck via the neck-strap… Read more

then after 1-4 hours use, back into the soft bag as supplied. As these are an essential part of my Target shooting routine, I have looked after these Binoculars with due respect, like all my equipment. After eleven months noticed corrosion appearing from under the black paintwork, all over the main body. After taking them back to Camera House, who sent them to a Nikon authorised repair agent, was told by the Nikon authorised repair agent they had been subject to "Water damage" and therefore as they were not "water proof" Binoculars they were not covered under the warranty. However, they would give me a discount on a new pair of Nikon Binoculars. The definition of "Waterproof" in my industry is IP67. These Binoculars would have a minimum rating of IP51 (splash-proof under the same Industry code), I understood they were not "Waterproof", which I did not require as I was not in an environment of where "Waterproof" would be necessary. These Binoculars have never been subject to water, if they had been they would have fogged up internally, which they have not, ( I also have a Naval Engineering background). These Binoculars have never been near a lake nor the Ocean and never been wet from rain or dew. Simply used as stated above, each week with a gloved hand and exposed fingers, or fingerless leather gloves. The only moisture that could possibly be attributed to this corrosion was the perspiration for my finger tips, (attributable to the affected areas). If the product cannot for what ever reason accommodate perspiration, a natural body function, then this is an un-merchantable product, as I have complained about, under the "Consumer Code".

I have paid $159.00 for what I considered a worthy pair of Compact Binoculars and now know they are simply not up to the standard required for any indoor/outdoor Human held recreational activity which may involve contact with fingers and perspiration, or an un-merchantable product under the "Consumer Code". I used them for sighting a Target both before and after a shot, not an arduous task is it? A very disappointing outcome from Nikon Australia. So much for the "Nikon Warranty" or non-existent warranty! Poor quality control of a product made in China. Nikon have washed their hands of this complaint. The same could happen with a Camera, regardless of it's cost. Be very wary of Nikon, shame on you Nikon Australia!

I am an honest person and pride myself on my Honesty, my strongest core belief.

I have since replaced these Binoculars with Bushnell.

film cameras, the viewfinder is large and provides plenty of scope to manually focus subjects. You can probably only buy these second hand now but if you do you will know you are getting a camera that will last a long time. Would be ideal for those interested in experimenting with 35mm film. Well engineered. Still works after 11 years.

Light, basic and easy to use for the beginner.

Date stamp and panoramic mode on 'D' type, (F70d) Shutter 'slap.'

Need to press 2 buttons (and use two hands) to change even basic settings.

Norman had a promotion on the lens and I am now a proud owner of the Nikon 50mm F1.8G lens.

Compared to the 50mm F1.4G lens, this lens is bargain for a prime lens.

Why do I like the product?

1. Well packaged. Comes with a soft case and a lens hood. Very nice touch from Nikon.

2. Great promotion from Harvey Norman. They should have more of such deals. Thank you Harvey Norman.

3. I used the lens on a Nikon D800 and found the images were sharp. With a F1.8g you get a great depth of field.

4. The lens hood prevents light flare so a handy accessory to have.

5. Quick focusing but not as silent as I would have expected from a AF-S lens but given the price, a good compromise.

6. When you register the product online, you get 2 years warranty, not that you need it but gives you peace of mind.

7. Nice bokeh with this lens

Beware of these new Nikon plastic lenses from Thailand – Having had many Nikon cameras and accessories over 30 years I have always thought the higher quality was worth the premium but not any more. … Read more

Nikon have now started producing cheap plastic lenses that easily break. The poorly designed plastic bayonet mounting is likely break if you knock the lens (I just knocked mine on the side of a table). I had mine 7 months and I always have looked after my equipment and never had any problems with Nikon equipment before.

This is a common problem according to Nikon salesman, not covered by warranty and too costly to repair $200 for parts and labour. Cheap for Nikon Poor construction and poorly designed plastic bayonet mounting likely break if you knock the lens.

manufactured.

Now that digital SLR cameras are prolific, the venerable old F5 is affordable to just about anyone so if you want an excellent film camera then get one of these while you can. Just make sure that you have some quality glass to go with it.

This is the type of camera that will last a lifetime. Pro camera. Built like a tank.

Quick to load and unload film.

Very similar feel and layout to Nikon D2H.

Uses rechargeable NiMH or AA batteries. Power miser. Batteries last a very long time. Very heavy and bulky due to being built like a tank.

There really is nothing wrong or bad about this camera.

OK – I borrowed a this from a colleague before I ultimately decided on buying the 18-105 lens. I did use it for a weekend in all types of conditions and… Read more

it took great pictures. The zoom lens range is surprisingly large and would exceed the expectations of most people in its range. The lens feels like a quality piece of kit. In Australia this costs around $1000 and for this price it simply not good value for money especially since one can buy other good lenses for half the price. It has some very annoying features like the zoom creep. While trying to take a picture of the moon at night I found I had to hold the lens while taking it, which introduced too much shake. I could have solved it with a bit of tape but because it belonged to a colleague I did not want to get glue on his pristine lens.

Another thing I found was that the lens was no sharper than my 18-55 lens and on the edges was actually less sharp.

So was it good enough for me to buy it. If it cost around $550 I would have taken the plunge and found a way to live with the creep. Given its price and considering that I found an 18-105 for $420 I cannot recommend it. Great zoom range, quite effective vibration reduction. Feels good quality to touch and use Very expensive in Australia. Not as sharp as 18-105 or 18-135. Zoom creep, very large and quite heavy.

system sharp, responsive, and even better than I had hoped. With a weight of 1955 g, it is relatively light for a high-quality lens containing 25 optical elements. The weight is still something to be considered. With its internal zoom system, there is no risk of sucking dust particles as a result of a bellows effect. I am pleased with my purchase and have no hesitation in recommending the lens to others.

Wide Angle DX Zoom – This was one of the first lenses released for the Nikon DX format for digital single lens reflex cameras, and as such was a hugely important one. … Read more

The build quality and optics are well above normal for an enthusiast lens, almost to the point of being a pro lens.

On the DX format the zoom range equates to about an 18 - 36 mm which is very useful to have. You can use it for huge, sweeping panoramas or tight indoor shots, and even use it at the 24mm end for 'normal' shots.

The price was a bit high when new and now there are other options such as the 10 - 24 and the Tokina 11-16, both of which I would recommend over this lens. Pro build quality, useful wide angle range Expensive when new, other options available these days

actually reasonably priced for a Nikon professional lens range. An average price of any Nikon wide angle Professional lens is about $1600-$2500 and it varies on where you purchase the lens.

While you can get a bargain from Ebay, you may not get what you want and Warranty may become an issue. Buying from a reliable dealer with warranty is a good way to go or alternatively online US distributors with good reputation can buy this lense and save you about $500.00.

The problem with this lens is there are reviews showing people who owned bad copies of this product and find the images not as sharp. Reading Ken Rockwell's review you will find it shocking that he gave the thumbs down and even rate a lower lens range a higher rating. Has this have anything to do with cost? Probably.

This lens is reasonably heavy when you compare to the lower end Nikon lenses. However the weight has been over exggerated by some as it doesnt weigh a ton. The lens doesnt weigh more than a 70-300mm VR lens. But that being said, some people prefer a cheaper, lighter lens they wont like this.

Picture quality, is pretty sharp and I mean dead on, however there are some people who have bad copies and unfortunately may have bad reviews for this lens.

A note to remember is that this lens does flare and you need to know its limits to avoid those situations.

Focusing is a bit thight for some users, I find it good rather than having a lens that creeps like the famous Nikon 18-200mm DX VR lens, some complain about the focusing ring is on the lower end and hate it, I know why Nikon did it and totally find it acceptable.

I have used this lens for my own wedding and love the results. Will not trade this lens for another substitute. On the note is a DX lens and not FX but does a pretty good job. High quality, fast lens, good optics. very reliable. Costly, heavy, focusing range may be limited if you are used to a 18-70mm lens. No VR function

the range was too low and secondly I was unable to get any bokeh out of it. Bokeh is backgrdound blurring for the uninitiated. Apart from the two issues I mentioned it felt very flimsy but this was not something that detracted from its useability. It does not feel flimsy in the sense that it can break. The flimsiness has more to do with the perception of quality. One example is the very light manual focusing ring that provides virtually no detents when turning. The lens did produce very sharp results. Its light and very sharp. Came free with the camera package Feels very flimsy, especially the manual focusing ring. Virtually no bokeh. Range is too restricted. Poor low light performance. No vibration reduction.

The reviews had been consistently good, however the real life experience was amazing. The binoculars are unreal, the clarity, ease of use and precision optics are remarkable for the price.
