caucasian and it allowed our kids to make up families with all sorts of racial backgrounds - just like families in the real world. We bought a few sets of these for their multi cultural appeal. They are sturdy and nice for little hands to manipulate. I liked their cheerful faces, their brightly coloured clothes and the range of skin tones that allowed for more dimensions in the kids play. Can be tricky for kids to get them to stand sometimes.
