ankles. The Contagrip sole is pretty good on most surfaces, but they slip on mossy rocks. Maybe, I'm expecting too much from the hard lugs. The biggest disappointment is the boot's poor water proofing. They are Goretex protected, but my socks get damp in medium downpours hiking over wet rocks 'n' puddles. maybe, I'm expecting too much from Goretex. If they were waterproof, they would be 5 star.

get the same boots. They have so many different pairs and styles that I’ve tried three pairs now and have had to send two pairs back at my expense as I had to buy them online because the stores didn’t have my size. I am finally settling for the ones I have but I’m not completely happy. The laces are shorter so I had to take the laces out of my old boots and put them in these, they don’t have a slip in the tongue that holds the tongue in place and the ankles have a lot more padding in them which then means that the tongues don’t fit in underneath the sides of the boots so if I get wet water is going to get in. My husband and I are going to Antarctica soon and I don’t have time to send these ones back so they’re going to have to do. I just can’t work out whywhen you have previously made great boots you would change them unless they think they’ve improved them but to me it looks like they are cutting costs because they’re taking things away not adding to them.

terrain. I have 4-5 pairs of Salomon trail and hiking shoes as I had plantar fasciitis and these were pivotal in my recovery due to the incredible stability they have. A must have if you are unlucky enough to have this painful condition. Also it seems that once you know your size , every model fits. I highly recommend these for comfort and support and their styles and colour range will suit all tastes.
