to keep my iphone on charge all night, or risk it running out of battery, so I looked for a device with batteries or a cable. I have had this Sleep Therapy device for nearly 12 months now, and use it pretty much every night.

Design: Very simplistic layout, you can pretty much pick it up and use it without having to read the manual. There are 6 buttons clearly labelled for each noise, volume buttons, an on/off and a timer button. After a year of almost nightly use mine shows absolutely zero wear. My only real issue with the design of this product is the bright light on the timer button which is a very bright blue when the timer is set. For someone trying to get to sleep, a bright blue light is the last thing you need. I wish they had made this either switch off after the timer is set or make it a dimmer, or a softer yellow/red light. I ended up putting a blackout sticker on mine. Another minor negative was that it's marketed as something you could take away with you - although it is very light, I would never path this in my bag as it is pretty bulky.

The Sound: Prior to this I purchased a sleep machine from amazon and hated the mechanical/artificial sound of all of the noises. The sound quality on this machine is beautiful - I use the rain and waves ones the most and it genuinely sounds like it is raining outside or you are by the beach. For reading/winding down the "relax" or "calm" sounds are very nice to play in the background. Because it can use batteries I have taken it out onto our patio in summer and sat outside reading with it on a low level which is very very relaxing. The volume range is really good too, from a very soft low volume to surprisingly loud. When the timer is used (for 15, 30, 60mins) the sound gradually fades away when the time is up.

While the simplicity of this device is really great, I do wish they had added one or two more things to make it an amazing all round product. Including a clock with an alarm that you could program to turn a sound on would make this a 10/10 item for me (so you could have relaxing sounds to get to sleep with, and some gentle sounds to rise you in the morning). I use it most nights, so it was definitely worth the ~$40 that it cost, but if it was to break I would probably not purchase it again and I am currently looking for something similar that has a few added features.

Overall Pros: Great sound quality, very simple design and ease of use, low price, timer with gradual fade out. Overall Cons: Bright blue light on timer, could have been amazing with a clock and wake-up alarm sounds.
