lens hood. This is something I later discovered was a known issue. The lens was outside of its warranty period, but I reached out to Tamron Support (managed by Blonde Robot in Australia) to see what they could do.
The repair team assessed the lens, confirmed it was a fault not caused by misuse, and repaired it at no cost to me, even though the warranty had expired. They sent it back quickly with no fuss, and it’s now working perfectly again.
Australia has strong consumer protection laws which may have helped, but credit to Blonde Robot and Tamron for handling it so fairly and efficiently. I'm very happy with the outcome and feel confident buying more Tamron lenses in the future knowing they have good customer support.
