I have now mounted the television on the wall, programed it and everything appears to be working correctly. I would like to thank you all with your patience and help during this process.

My aging Sony Bravia of 7 years had a dark patch on the screen hardly noticeable accept on plain light colours. I was going to put up with it but at… Read more

some point, I bought a new A/V receiver then realised the Sony was short on a number of video formats and sound formats, so I saw no point in keeping this aging Dinosaur and pulled the trigger on a 75inch TCL quantum dot mini-LED. I ended up going to Appliances online , got an extra discount, free delivery, free removal of my old set and connection of the new one.

It was worth it for me to pay extra for the service because I am old and useless, so it worked out well for me.

I went with the 75-inch TCL which you might think is not much of an upgrade in size from the Sony 65" but in fact the extra 10 inches delivers 33% more screen size and the one other factor was , I figured the 75 inch may not be noticed by my wife and so I won't get into trouble for upgrading.

This set blew my socks off. Once setup using Movie mode , making some adjustments, like switching off all that stuff that the Tv wants to interfere with , dropping the brightness to 24% ( lord, i don't know how people can view this thing at 100% it's impossibly bright) then again if you are watching in broad daylight I can see the point .

I found I had no need for the Amazon Firestick as the menu system on this was super slick and looked the same.

. In HDR10 mode and Dolby Vision colours popped right off the screen and detail was incredible and the whites were super white , the blacks were deep enough to compare to an OLED.

Detail was really outstanding as you can see from the photos.

The Bang and Olafsun speakers were OK, but I will never use them once my Atmos surround setup is hooked up.

The only thing I added was a backlit controller from Amazon which worked straight out of the box and even gave me volume control over my AV/Receiver. A 3-year warranty comes with it and I have 2 earlier TCL sets which are still going Ok after 3 years so let's see. Highly recommended, not sure that the discounts on this model are still around because the 2026 version just hit the ground, and I guess it depends on who still has stock of this model which I reckon is probably coming straight out of the TCL warehouse. Bare in mind that the screen shots were taked with a smartphone camera hence you will see some degradtion in the black areas (noise) as the camera ramps up it's ISO.

My old TCL 65 inch TV carked it suddenly a few days ago. My choice for a replacement was easy, just get that same brand TCL again because it was a… Read more

good run from that old telly before it died. So, I went for the more recent model to suit my affordable "poverty Pak" range. LOL Appliances Online was my first choice because it's free, next day delivery. The delivery guys unbox the new one, remove all wrapping, screw on the legs and lift it carefully on to my furniture stand. Then they take all the packaging cardboard and styrene, plus my old TV away. Priceless !

I won't give a critical propeller -head, nerd review of the the TV, quoting technical figure and facts. I'm just a normal everyday person, so I'll give you the "normal person" review as I see it.

It was an easy ten minute job to jump thru the hoops, tick all the boxes etc to set it up. The picture was great out of the box but a few minor tweaks in the picture settings to suit my preferences made all the difference and gave me a first class picture. Extremely life-like skin tones, crystal clear picture, wide viewing angle and stutter free fast action scenes ! I liked the quick access to "subtitles" button on the remote, which is far superior to the older model TCL that required multiple time wasting button presses to simply turn on/off the subtitles.

Now...the downside ! The audio/sound is absolutely woeful ! Despite TCL's literature bragging that it has magnificent, mind blowing sound, it is indeed a complete fib. For me, the sound is tinny sounding like a little pocket radio playing in a tiny toilet. Easy fix, just hook up my old Samsung sound bar via the arc HDMI socket. Now it's perfect !

I should really knock off one star for that, but the value for money price of $950 negates that. Overall it's the best bang for buck to have a smart TV this good.

Software seems to be the issue. TV is slow to run, needs frequent restarts, goes back to home screen or a different app to the one selected. Never going TCL again.

Perfect TV until it broke after 14 months – Update after ~2 years: my tv was replaced free of cost and ever since then had no issues. After 14 month TV's backlight stopped working suddenly. Before that I was happy with the TV. Edit: Tv was replaced free of charge.

if you put it down and it happens to roll over it’ll come up with Netflix or something. We have a sound bar hooked up to it as the sound isn’t great either. We had that already though so easy to hook in. We got it for a bargain so not complaining - get what you pay for! It is a base model so got to be expected!

Bought two years ago (roughly early 2024). Slow to buffer and load. Full of small bugs that vary from time to time, eg. no sound; program guide won't load; etc. Recommend paying a few extra dollars for something more reliable.

are poor quality and regret going down this brand. New TV and streaming is a nightmare. Issues with picture freezing and navigating back to normal tv mode it just refuses to work. Not my network as I am running hard wired internet connection at a network speed of 1000 mbs download.. the fastest in its class. This TV is just junk. Stay away because you will not be satisfied with the TCL Product. I’ll contact customer support again but like my previous experiences it’s a nightmare dealing with them

My 20 year old Panasonic in the bedroom just gave up working. I recently purchased a TCL 75 inch TV for the living room because it was a good price… Read more

for a Google TV. It was fast and responsive and a good buy for an oled 4K Google TV... Weeks later I purchased another 40 inch TCL HD TV (40 S5K) and was bitterly disappointed with the performance. The remote was very slow to respond. Installing additional apps like Kayo was slow and never worked properly. I got jitters and stutters in most of the apps like ABC iView, 7plus etc. Voice commands took up to 30 seconds to respond.... I started contacting TCL with these problems. They went through the usual "try this" and "try that".... resetting the TV back to factory and a whole heap of other tests to try and get the TV to at least respond in a timely manner. I started searching the internet for solutions and found out that others had similar problems with this model. Turns out that this TV under performs because there is only 1Gb of memory and only 8Gb internal storage - certainly not enough to run the Goggle TV software and additional apps. After many emails, TCL gave me a return authority and I returned the TV back to the retail shop for a full refund. TCL is generally a good brand but this particular model is a lemon. Went out and bought a Hisense 43inch 4K TV for $94 more.... with a 90 day satisfaction guarantee return.... My suggestion is when you're in the market for a new TV ask about the memory and internal storage size.... eg the new Hisense is 2Gb Memory and 16Gb Internal storage - makes all the difference!

Goes off balance very easily and doesn't stop itself. It has been across my laundry floor, dancing. Sometimes you can have the water level on the highest, at 8, depends on what mood the machine is in, sometimes 7 is the highest level. It's slow, it's noisy and is generally a piece of garbage. I have TCL tvs, no problem with them at all.

Basic TV ok if you are an Apple user, because Apple prompts pop up every time it is turned on. Very annoying!. Also service follow-up is non-existent. They arrange a time to call back and NOTHING!

Warranty refused over minor issue – I purchased a TCL refrigerator just 8 months ago from Retravision Cannington, which came with a 3-year warranty, and I'm extremely disappointed with… Read more

both the product and the customer service. Recently, the refrigerator started malfunctioning, so I reached out to TCL for support, hoping the issue would be covered under their manufacturer's warranty. However, after a technical assessment, I was informed that the problem was caused by insects (foreign bodies) entering the unit. TCL refused to cover the repair under the warranty, stating that it is the user's responsibility to prevent exposure to insects, dust, and other environmental factors.

When I requested to speak with a manager, I was repeatedly told that the manager was busy. It took multiple calls and a lot of persistence before TCL finally arranged a call with the manager. Unfortunately, when I did get in touch, the manager was completely unwilling to discuss the issue, simply repeating that the problem was due to insects and that TCL would not be responsible.

To make matters worse, TCL's response was clearly a generic template(i have evidence)—they even referenced a television instead of a refrigerator in their email! This shows a lack of attention to detail and care for their customers.

It's frustrating that TCL places the blame on customers for issues that should be covered by their 3-year warranty. I strongly advise anyone considering a TCL product to think twice. Spend a little more on a reliable brand that stands behind its products and offers better customer service. Save yourself the headache—TCL is not worth the risk.

- I have attached proof of purchase also in this review

Avoid TCL. Not worth your money – If I could give them no stars, I would. Purchased this tv in Jan 2023 after boxing day sale, worked well for a year. Last few days I noticed a… Read more

weird light reflected on my wall, did not take too much notice. Last weekend I noticed a crack in the vessel of the tv in the top Rt corner. This TV has never been moved, touched or hit. This tells me the build of product is poor.

Reached out to the vendor, who advised I reach out to TCL. After a bit of back and forth, TCL decided that as it is a physical damage, it is not covered by their warranty. I find that rather irresponsible, given it is a defective product. Instead, they are offering me a “confidential” discounted price for the same product, if i choose to purchase a new unit.

You can see the photos below and make your own judgment. As you can see, the screen is still functioning normally (for now), but on the side, there’s a gap. How cheap are the materials used for this to happen so soon after purchased? And the response from TCL leaves a lot to be desired.

I would avoid TCL in the future. I’ve have LG, Samsung and Sony that have lasted over 10 years with no issues, physical or software. TCL couldn’t even last beyond 2 years.

Update: After approximately 2-3 weeks of back and forth with TCL, they finally agreed to send out an independent technician.

The outcome: The adhesive holding the tv together was loosening. The other side was also loose due to adhesive issues, NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE detected (as i have been insisting).

They are finally replacing the tv, but will be receiving a slightly different model (supposedly of equal value). Finger crossed this tv will last longer.

All of the previous stress was unnecessary and could have been avoided if they just have better aftersales care.

humidity controlled crisper keeps fruit and vegetables cold and fresh, and the freezer also does a great job with the ‘frost free’ function. I haven’t experienced any build up of ice, which is hard to find!

The adjustable shelves in the door allow for plenty of space for bulky or tall items, and the shelves inside are deeper than I expected.

I would definitely recommend this product/buy again.

down if you press a bit too long it overshoots. if you want to get a certain volume to prevent this overshoot from happening you have to keep pressing the volume up or down keys in discrete steps & even then wait to ensure it doesn't overshoot again! as i stated it is very unresponsive. the android app is not much better as it comes with it's own problems. you have to create an account & then allow the TCL app to access your device's location & then allow the app to find the relative position of nearby devices. why? why can't the device be controlled simply by bluetooth? more to the point why is this not disclosed anywhere by TCL before purchasing their product? i purchased the soundbar primarily for streaming music & to get a better sound when using my TV. eventually the bluetooth died within the warranty period of 12 months. I could no longer stream music from my device as it wouldn't connect. I tried other devices with the same result. the pairing code or PIN was invalid even though when initially set up there was no pairing code or PIN required. i would not recommend this product.

isn't a huge brand compared to some of the others on the market, we were told that many of those bigger brands use TCL's hardware. This is a really good TV. The picture is very high quality, and the operating system is the best one I have used. It has lots of ways to personalise the experience, so we've used many of the different setting options to find the right settings for us. We connect to the wifi for streaming apps and we've never had a problem with the connection, unless the wifi itself has gone out. I can't speak to the sound quality because we have it connected to a soundbar. This TV is excellent value for money.

Good TV, but could have been great – I picked up the TCL 85C855 in June 2024, and I’m pretty impressed with what it offers. As a casual viewer rather than a tech expert, I’ll share my… Read more

experience in straightforward terms.

**Brightness & Picture Quality:** First off, the brightness on this TV is fantastic. It really stands out in my living room, even when the lights are on. Watching movies, especially those with dark scenes, is a pleasure.

**Sound Quality:** The built-in speakers are pretty loud, which is great if you don’t want to invest in extra audio equipment. For regular TV shows and casual movie nights, they do the job just fine.

**Remote & Operating System:** Remote isn’t the best when compared to samsung (my previous Tv). The Google operating system, while convenient, is bit sluggish. It takes a moment longer than I’d prefer to switch between apps or navigate through menus.

Overall, the TCL 85C855 is a solid choice for a mini led TV. The bright display and excellent handling of dark scenes make it a great pick for movie lovers. The remote and the operating system is bit of a letdown if you’re looking for something top-notch.
