the coast with my Golden Retriever, thinking it was the most idiot-proof choice out there. I applied it exactly as instructed, a week before hitting a supposed tick hotspot (as if we had ticks crawling all over us back home).
Fast forward a week after the trip, and a week after my furball's FIRST birthday celebration, and what do I get? A one-way ticket to the vet's office where my dog is struggling for his life, thanks to not one, not two, but THREE freaking ticks. A week of treatment, including a ventilator stint, and what's the result? I had to kiss my beloved pet goodbye. And guess what? Every time the vet heard it was Purina, they weren't shocked. Apparently, every tick paralysis case involving prevention treatment led straight back to this garbage brand.
The agony, the heartbreak, the absolute freaking nightmare my household is going through is indescribable. We're left shattered by the loss of a family member, and the toll it's taken on us—financially, emotionally, and mentally—is beyond belief.
We filed a complaint with Purina, but they've conveniently slammed the door on us. Now, a case sits with the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicine Authority, but who knows if that'll make a damn difference. If you've gone through the living hell we have, I'm begging you to raise your voice, file a case, and let's collectively rip this abomination off the market. No one else should suffer through the nightmare we've endured.

family, he has chewed through great many things including a Ezydog harness which we thought would be more comfortable for him. After he nearly chewed through that harness, we went back to normal collar, which gave us better control and he is unable to bite at it.
In a bid to get him a stronger and more comfortable collar, we tried getting him the Purina Total Care Comfort Dog Collar, with soft neoprene layer for comfort, only to find out it is designed like a belt with a flappy end, we believe our new canine will love to chew on. Therefore, we moved over to this Purina Total Care Everyday model. At only $2 cheaper than the Total Care Comfort version, this feels somewhat expensive. However, it does feel like a really quality product. It has all metal buckles. It is thick and well stitched. Maybe a little stiff but that adds to its toughness. The only thing it does not have perhaps is a reflective surface. Thought Purina is a pet food company. Who knows it can produce good dog collars as well?! We loved it enough to buy the matching lead to go with it.
I wonder how long structurally and aesthetically the metal buckles and the rest of the collar will last. Will the buckle rust or the beautiful silver finish peel off? Will update over time.

Let down – Aluminium clasp is not up to the task on this collar. Broke within about a couple of weeks after purchase. The clasp end that holds the two collar ends together are thin and flimsy, despite the collar itself being durable.

squeaking noise. If swallowed, very possible a trip to the Vet would be required. I would not recommend for big or strong dogs and if given to a dog should be checked often for damage. This advice can be applied to a lot of animal toys. The product is available from a number of different outlets, not just Woolworths.
