My 6 year old's first RC car – I am fortunate to buy a Traxxas Stampede (basic model) 2wd with brush motor. This was a birthday present for my 6 year old and hence, I bought the… Read more

most basic and cheapest version that traxxas sells. I got a deal from ebay from one of the sellers in Melbourne and got the vehicle for just 300 Australian Dollars. The car has three modes:

1. Forward only mode.

2. half speed mode for beginners (max 24 km/ hr)

3. professional mode for advanced users capable of attaining 48 km/ hr speed.

The car can go upto a range of 100m+. The longest I have taken is around 110m and the car was still working. My son is quite capable of handling the car and the machine is powerful. You have to be in a playground or open area as this might hit someone they might get hurt as well. The best part is that each and every part can be replaced and you will find ample videos and manuals in order to change any part.

Unfortunately, the charger can be used only in the car and you would have to buy an additional charger which I got an aftermarket one for additional 35 dollars. The battery takes 1 - 1.5 hours to charge and lasts for 15 to 25 minutes. You can get a new after market or original high capacity battery which would last for 35 minutes but it comes at an additional cost of 60 dollars.

Initially, I thought that I am spending too much but the RC car had been well worth the money spent on it. The box comes with remote, batteries for the remote, car body, some additional parts and accessories, stickers, user manual and a charger. The parts are costly but quality comes with cost.

I am more than happy to answer any questions that you might have or in case you want me to post videos of the car in working mode.

Great build – We have three of these 2wd SCT's. My 4yo and 11yo sons both have one to get into racing, a really great solid truck to learn with and for bashing. I… Read more

geared one right down for my 4yo and he is now racing great. As stated in other reviews the let down for racing is the high CoG but this can be a good thing for bashing and driving in long grass.

The 3rd truck has a Proline LCG chassis, this is what you need for racing and will keep you up with the Losi's and the like, but takes some cash to get you there. All up very happy with the Slash, great parts availability in many brands such as RPM. Will be upgrading both my sons chassis. Solid SCT Not a racer, but can be fixed with some mods

Unrelenting 8s power – As a huge fan of R/C vehicles, from off-road buggies, to road shredding cars and of course drones, I wanted 'The Biggest, Most Powerful' available. … Read more

Enter the Traxxas X-Maxx 1/5 scale behemoth.

With unrelenting 4X4 wheel drive power, the incredible 1/5 scale mammoth size and the incredible 8s power, this is the pinnacle of off-road , on-road and even skate park, evolution.

With 30+ volts of extreme 8s power, X-Maxx not only defies physics, with the ability to change its angle and attitude, while in the AIR! Yes, a quick spurt of that 8S power while it flies and you can land it on all four wheels, even when it was upside down.

Unleashing the jaw-dropping acceleration and you are hitting 80 km/h easily.

An extremely strong chassis, coupled with the most heavy duty suspension and drive train components, this beast can seriously handle the worst you can throw at it. The aggressive tread pattern on the tyres ensure exceptional grip.

As a serious, top of the pile R/C, there is no other R/C capable of going pretty much anywhere. Sure, it is near the top of the price bracket, but I'm 100% sure, this will outlast, out perform and provide more smiles on your face, than anything else out there.

If you are serious, want the biggest and most featured off-road R/C, this is it!

* for reference, the lighter is a regular Bic, full size.
