are as clean as when they're professionally done. I just use a nice smelling dishwashing liquid instead of any kind of special carpet cleaner and they come up beautifully. It's cheaper and smells way better. The initial outlay of $149 is well worth it compared to hundreds each year for professional cleaning. Family members have borrowed it many times so it's had a lot of use and still going strong. You have to empty the dirty tank and refill the fresh one a few times while using but it's pretty quick and easy. Very good for the price and as you can see from the photo, it REALLY sucks the dirt out.

Like most, pretty disappointed, I’m a huge VAX fan but this has left me stewing. This thing is useless, no suction, crap filters, lousy battery. I’ve binned it, worthless

Love it! After my Westinghouse bagless one broke down I bought this one, so cheap, so easy to pull through the rooms, great massive bag size. Never again a bag less vacuum!
Works well. Trying to get replacement/parts in Australia - hopeless. VAX Support say it isn't stocked in Australia but how did I manage to buy the machine? Should have gone with a Bissell.

fibres, makes it impossible for my stick vac to effectively clean them. So wanted something with some serious grunt. This machine has it. It picks up kitty litter buried in the pile (reconstituted pine pellets) and cleans around the edges of rooms much, much better than any other cleaner I've tried (stick vac and sweeper). I've only given it 4 stars rather than 5 because: 1. On page 2 of instructions it states for domestic use only, but it's called a commercial vac! and 2. The plastic hose extensions are push in with no 'catch' so can come apart when using. Pictures are of before and after cleaning kitty litter from thick rug. This vac doesn't slide easily over thick pile, so I used it in one direction - pull; so best for hard surfaces and low pile carpets. Suction too strong for some uses. Very, very good suction.

Do not buy this model – The machine works well as long as it lasts. Ours lasted a few months and the free replacement last almost a year. We were then offered a £10.00… Read more
voucher for another one. Save your money and but different make. Not reliable and customer service not worth the contact.
Works great and I have a big floor to clean – Lost 1 star for the fact you have to hold the the button in to operate...but I love the steam mop. Cleaned my whole floor with one tank fill and I have a lot of floor tiles !! impressed well done :)
Good Steam Mop – I recently purchased a Steam Glide VAX VX 89 Steam Cleaner which is a wonderful cleaning tool! It has dramatically changed the way I clean my floors!… Read more
The design is sleek and modern, making it easy to maneuver around furniture, and it glides across the floor smoothly with ease. It heats up quickly, and within seconds, it is ready to use. The steam power is amazing and I even can control the amount of steam. The VX89 sanitizes my floors without the need for harsh chemicals, which is not only better for the environment, but also for the health of my family and pets. However I always use my Microfiber Flat Mop to wipe the residual water of the hard floor in order to absorb the little moisture and fluff which are left behind by the steam cleaner. It also aloes to walk on the floor right away. The mop pads are easy to attach and remove, and the fact that they are machine washable saves me money in the long run. The water tank is large enough ( 330ml ) to cover a good amount of space, and I appreciate that it produces constant steam throughout the cleaning process, making my floors gleaming clean. Overall, I would recommend this steam mop to anyone in the market for a reliable and effective cleaning tool. Surprisingly it a comes with several attachments such as Carpet glider, Concentration nozzle and Cooling tray. Unfortunately it does not come with measuring cup to refill the water tank. I hope the unit will last longer than my Kmart Steam Mop which was a terrible disappointment.

in no time. , by the time you do maybe 2 small rooms weekly it's full , it's no where near as good as the older vax vacuums, I'll stick to using my $30 Kmart one even if I have to replace it every year it's heaps better
Handy but loses suction – Battery lasts half a standard house Quick charge Loses suction on carpets
Disappointed – My machine has worked sometimes, funnily, most time she did not, can't find the problem, Vax does not help at all. I give up now, and throw it out. In my opinion, wasted my money.

it suddenly just started not working as well and not producing enough steam so had to get a new steam mop, but im very happy with the new model mentioned above its light and produces a lot if steam if i had to state negatives the cord could he longer and it could come with a spare pad and as the handle clips in and out its not exactly solid but fir the price and function happy with it. I would like to state that i use the steam cleaner on the entirety of the floors in my house as i dint have carpet. Both i found the tank lasted me 15-20mins so pretty happy with that

was a Vax and I went for the model VX5. What a lemon! hardly any suction compared to my old machine, in fact so little that it wont operate the turboheads that are supplied with it after paying $350 for what used to be a quality machine I am far from impressed with Vax quality. My advice don't waste your money on this product, when you can by No name brand wet and dry cleaners for less than a third of the price that have far greater suction power.
Waste of money – There is very little suction. It is more like a toy Waste of money And the fact that to put a review in you have to have at least 30 words . What a joke

So in short, its a piece of disposable junk that cant be fixed & probably targetted at a demographic of people that cant afford to buy better quality items I suggest consumers stay clear of these products
I wanted to update my original post- I have since emailed Vax twice on this issue over the past few months and am still waiting on a response :(
