Technician arrived, looked at the wine fridge and stated it will be either the thermostat or the board. I asked if he was going to do any further diagnosis to which he responded it was always the thermostat or the board. He said he would replace the thermostat first and if that didn’t fix it he would replace the board. Yep sounds like he had no idea and was just going to keep replacing parts until it worked.
He stated he did not have the parts with home and he would have to return (which seems like a waste of time if is always the thermostat or board like he says). An appointment was made on 30 March for him to return however he failed to show up or contact us. We contacted Vintec(Electrolux) and they stated there had been some confusion with the bookings that day, no apology for the waste of a day waiting around for the no show. They stated the earliest they could attend was 27 April.
In the meantime the fridge failed completely, I had a technician from another company attend and he actually did a diagnosis including gas leak checks and the functionality of the thermostat. The thermostat was found to be working fine but the fridge had lost most of the gas through a leak he detected.
Contacted Vintec and to cancel the follow up as the fridge had now failed from an issue detected by a real technician doing a real diagnosis but they sent the technician anyway.
This company is an absolute circus clearly without a ring master. A technician that wants to replace parts on the ‘vibe of the thing’ rather than doing an actual diagnosis, then failing to turn up on the next appointment without any contact. Then the icing of him finally coming out after they were contacted and told not to bother as the fridge had now become uneconomical to repair when a proper diagnosis was done.
Lessons to be learnt; don’t spend your hard earned cash on Vintec they are rubbish.
Secondly if you already have one don’t rely on these clowns to fix it.

we moved in 2 and a 1/2 years ago. This may be a trend for this brand and seems like it is not worth fixing. It is actually a 50 bottle wine fridge not 35.
