Replaced a TECHINIKA dishwasher. Dishes wash better. Don't have to rinse plates or clean arms. Many more features and love how the doors open after wash is finished.

Rust/corrosion not covered under 5 year warranty – Purchased this 8kg Front Load Washing Machine through Costco coming up to 4 years ago. After taking the front panel off to clear the pump noticed… Read more

the bottom of the machine had started to corrode under the panel. I emailed whirlpool with my concerns of the corrosion and was asked to send photos of the damaged. Then another email requesting full photos of the machine. Third email was a reply that the rust is not covered in the 5 year warranty. This is the response received by whirlpool. “The rust in the unit is usually not covered under the warranty. It occurs due to surrounding moisture and in order to remove the issue of rust, Maintenance and cleanliness of unit is must. Since rust are external issue not a manufacturing defect, we are unable to assist you at the stage. Please keep unit safe and clean in order to avoid further rusting of the unit.” It’s a washing machine that has water going through it at least 4 times a week. And the rust was covered by the front panel. The area has never been under water

One of my best buys – My unit has been with me for 2 years now and its excellent performance is still the same. Very useful and practical. I definitely trust this brand and recommend.

Reasonable drying times (for heat pump) and no tangles – Only had this for a month, but so far so good. 5 year warranty made me more comfortable to buy from Whirlpool for the first time. I was worried about… Read more

heat pump stories of tangled sheets that end up in a ball but I can report that I have not seen this issue. It reverses the drum every now and then which I think helps. I have dried queen size duvets in this thing which is great. Drying times seem reasonable and having no mouldy humid air in the laundry is a blessing. It adjusts times as it goes. The unit is also quieter than my old hot air based tumble dryer.

The machine comes with only 1m hoses. Too short to connect to taps under sink immediately next to machine. Length is inadequate and I needed to buy a replacement for $26

so-called '6th sense' technology is completely useless and makes no sense. The washing cycle takes forever to finish, whereas my old machine completed the same load in just 45 minutes with better results. ,pans cups etc and is quiet. Ours was purchased through Harvey Norman and the Salesman’s product knowledge was very good. It has a salt dispenser but for Melbourne water it’s not required, just fill the tank with water . I don’t like the plastic covered micro switches , you feel like you need to press again or harder to start the machine. Once you press the on button there is a few seconds delay which can cause some confusion. Under the Start/pause button is a graphic and it says 3 sec. If you press the start button for 3 seconds it cancels the program . This graphic and the 3 sec are not explained in the manual, but it actually drains the machine if you need to. I actually thought our machine was faulty and rang Harvey Norman who hand passed the issue to Aristic ( whirlpool repair service). Harvey Norman don’t offer customer service, instead of calling me to tell me their procedure and then following up with whirlpool and letting me know what’s happening they just sent me an email and said to call Whirlpool if I haven’t heard anything. They have a repair procedure but not a customer service follow up. Anyway the Aristic Tech said that they get this all the time and the manual should be up dated . I think perhaps Harvey Norman should have known this. So ,the machine works fine and starts with 1 quick push on the start button. After the initial hiccup I can confidently recommend this Whirlpool machine , I just would like a knob to turn or a proper button to press but that’s me. Hope this helps.

My Second Crisp N Grill in Seven Years – We had the predecessor of this microwave, the JQ280IX, from 2017-2024. We used it every day for seven years. It was like having an oven/frying pan/… Read more

grill/air fryer/ steamer all-in-one. When the microwave function simply stopped working last week I needed to replace it quickly so I looked online. I was really happy to find another brand new JQ280 on Ebay.com.au because, except for the silver door trim being black on this new model, they are identical in every other way. The whole family is happy because we don't have to learn a new microwave. The same accessories were included as the last model: - a metal plate to cook bacon and eggs, or reheat frozen goods, pastries or crumbed products like nuggets, or to roast meat and make crispy baked potatoes and vegetables. (I line mine with a circle of baking paper to make cleanup easier). -A detachable handle to remove the metal plate when it is hot. -A 3piece steaming container to steam vegetables or meat/fish, and, -Two wire racks on legs, one short, one tall. The tall one is great for cheese on toast..there is an automatic 6th sense function which melts the cheese and browns it perfectly too.

The 6th Sense automatic menu is great. Whenever you choose a function button: CRISP, COMBI, DEFROST, GRILL, MICROWAVE, FORCED AIR, or STEAM, it will take you to a sub-menu for the 6th Sense (the full list of these menu's will be in the instruction pack and also printed on a sticker above the microwave cavity that you see when the door is open). You can search for the manual and reference guide online but I will also include screenshots in this review. Once you have chosen the function and the food item from the sub-menu, the microwave will determine the weight and duration of cooking and will alert you if you need to turn the food or when to add the food. The instructions provided with the machine are a bit light on. Unfortunately the chatter surrounding these microwaves was at its peak about four years ago so there aren't a lot of websites dedicated to it now. I would try searching online for anything about Whirlpool Crisp N Grill Microwave recipes. You could also try a Facebook group called: I Love My Whirlpool Crisp & Grill Microwave. It isn't as active as it used to be but there are some recipes in the posts and reading them will give you an idea of how to use the different functions. The moderator does come in from time to time and she may still sell copies of a recipe book through there. If you're interested, leave her a message. If all else fails, leave a question on here and hopefully I can be of help. I think I might see if I can get the broken microwave repaired while parts are still available, just so I have a backup. I might not be so lucky as to find another Whirlpool Crisp N Grill microwave in time to come when this one goes..but I really hope so.

I highly recommend this microwave.

Dissapointing warranty service – Buyer beware! Trying to get warranty on this fridge has been extremely difficult. No body ever calls us back, even though they say they will.… Read more

Request to speak to a manager were ignored. 3 weeks after lodging the warranty we still don't have a fridge and are told it will be another week. At this stage we just need a fridge and have requested a refund so that we can just go and buy a new fridge, but this required manager approval, but he won't return our calls. Wont be buying Whirlpool again.

UPDATE 7 Weeks have now passed with countless hours and outright lies from Arisit (The warranty provider) and the replacement fridge has finally been delivered.... To the wrong service agent. And yes we had to chase it up with the courier to find this out. Arisit should have know this was the wrong service agent as he refused the job request 7 weeks ago, and would not answer any calls from Arisit. One can only wonder how long the fridge would have sat in someone's driveway if we had not contacted the courier directly. Given the incredible effort we have made to progress the warranty claim this far, I feel certain that the warranty would never have been honoured if we had just lodged via standard process. There is no way to contact Whirlpool to let them know about this warranty service disaster. I hope that they are reading this and reach out to us. we have lost a lot of food and during a hot summer 2 months is a long time to be without a fridge... Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of Whirlpool warranty disaster.

I later spoke to customer service by phone and was told a replacement would be provided, but that was over six weeks ago and nothing has happened.

The product failure and lack of follow-through have been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not recommend to anyone purchasing a Whirlpool appliance.

Brilliant machine which does have an Achilles heel – This machine has some advantages over other front load combos but it also has an Achilles heel. It's lint collection is non-existent. No… Read more

recirculation pump and no in wash filter except the obligatory drain filter. This lint filtration during washing only occurs in the very expensive models and even then in wash lint filtration isn't easily maintained which is a big oversight generally in my opinion.

That said I'm very impressed with this machine. It's particularly quiet during the drying cycle which uses a 1200 watt heater element and a cylindrical fan that accepts short squirts of inlet water to steam clean the clothes to keep them from wrinkling or smelling mouldy. That same steam keeps the clothes fresh for up to 6 hours after the wash and dry finishes.

The dryer section is so quiet that you have to go into the room to check it's working. It really is that quiet

The spin speed is selectable with a default temperature and spin speed suggestion for each cycle you select and can be as high as 1600rpm which is higher than most and probably contributes a lot to the fairly high efficiency of 4.5 and 4 respectively for wash and dry.

The direct drive is actually a belt drive but it has no gearing so it's direct in that way and the motor can measure the effort required to turn the drum. As you select the clothing material type by wash cycle it then can gauge the wash load by motor load and set the correct water and other settings to save you on energy...6th Sense.

This machine has an enormous range of wash times from 30 minutes for a super quick wash without a dry to a full 10+ hours yes that's ten hours for an eco cotton full wash and every duration in-between.

The idea of the long cycle is to trade off energy consumption for time of wash completion by washing and drying at a reduced rate and reduced temperature but for longer.

This is the best use of a combo because if you are out for the day and you arrive home to your clothes fully dry and clean, what do you care how long it ran for especially if it's longest part of the cycle is the quietest, the drying.

But if time is important then you can indeed play with the settings of spin speed, temperature and dryness to shorten the wash n dry time. Or simply select the 45 or the 90 minute wash and dry cycles for small loads.

This machine doesn't take too kindly to powders being used when the temperature isn't high enough to easily dissolve. Doing this coats the dryer chamber (not the wash drum) and blocks the condensation tube which ruins the dryer effectiveness and breaks the dryer heater element. So follow instructions and use liquid detergent when washing below 60°C. About that 60°C temp and above use either powder or liquid but don't overfill the machine with powder detergent or you'll ruin its drying as powdered deposits collect over time.

One sanitary feature of this machine is its hidden ability to do a 90°C wash, courtesy of its 1800 watt drum heating element, yes it's got two.. So while it doesn't have a "sanitary" cycle officially it can wash items in a sanitary way.

Well....aside from the stainless steel drum and the child lock and door lock and the ability to pause the wash and on many shorter cycles add items mid wash there's more surprises in store but do follow instructions and please don't overload it as the clothes need space to tumble. As a rough guide a standard oval laundry basket holds 3 kg of washing when not compressed.

Brilliant machine if treated correctly.

numerous videos showing what was happening a technician came out as definitely faulty to assume it had the be the motherboard, which he replaced but the issue still there. When I contacted to say it hadn't fixed the issue was told that it was apparently doing what it supposed to be doing and case closed. Now only a few months later its looking to have to replace it as its obviously faulty and problems have worsen to occasionally it shuts its turns it self off...the company doesn't want to acknowledge it. I have never had a stove top that beeps and flashes other hotplates when not in use and randomly shuts it self off..... very frustrating and disappointing customer service. Buyer beware!
