fruit notes with a hint of woody vanilla are burned into my memory.....Then, after returning from living in Eastern Europe recently, I thought I would have a bottle of my "go-to" cab sauv... I almost thought somebody had switched labels as a prank.!! The fruitiness seemed to be replaced by an overwhelming alcohol taste, dry to the palate and not at all the warming, almost punch-like notes that I remember so vividly. I would have thought I had a corked bottle, had it not been for the screw cap!.... What happened??!!
