My Expressi leaks water from the back, sometimes a little and other times a lot, any suggestions/advice please?
jason30 asked on Apr 11, 2012
How do you stop the capsules falling thru? Our machine does it regularly. There must be an easy way to fix this as it's frustrating.
love my coffee asked on Mar 31, 2012
Mine has only done it once. Are you lining up the lid of the pod into the slot of the machine? If yes exchange it
Pat01 replied on Apr 4, 2012
Can you just put milk in the tank instead of water?
JAK 73 asked on Mar 17, 2012
No, it's not made to do that - you'd gum up everything inside the machine. You need the separate milk frother.
Regards.
Renato_A replied on Mar 19, 2012
Just wondering how noisy the machine is? As when I get up in the morning other members of my family are still asleep nearby.
onQ asked on Mar 9, 2012
It's about have as noisy as our Delonghi Iconia espresso machine - but it is still noisy. The pump inside has to make noise for it to work.
Regards.
Renato_A replied on Mar 12, 2012
It is noisy, like most coffee machines however without a grinder of course no where near as noisy as some big cappucino machines and if you are making a short black is only noisy for a short while.
The Espressi Frother is very quiet....wouldn't wake anyone.

I just bought this machine and i'm wondering where i can get some info about how to use it? Thanks
Arthur Johnston asked on Mar 9, 2012
It should have had an instruction booklet tucked into the plastic bag with the warranty paper, which should have been on top of the machine when you opened the box. Ring up Aldi service department if you don't have one, and ask for a copy. Else return the machine and get a new one with the instructions.
Regards
Renato_A replied on Mar 12, 2012
Aldi is always very good with exchange and refunds. Remember they have a 60 day store return policy no questions asked! But of course you want to use the coffee maker, and of course their hard to find!. As Renato said get onto their service dept.

The lever on our machine is stuck, won't push down...there is no capsule in it..........has anyone else had this problem?
glen asked on Mar 9, 2012
I didn't but a friend had that problem. He put too much pressure on it and snapped the handle.
Take it back for replacement or refund.
Scott1966 replied on Mar 12, 2012
thank you Scott;have rung them and they are sending a replacement......if it arrives it will be incredibly good follow up service!
glen replied on Mar 12, 2012
We bought the Expressi(Red)Coffee Machine for work,we had great success at the start but a we seem to have trouble with the pods being punctured, building up pressure and keeping the handle down. Is anyone else having this problem or have a solution?
Janine asked on Feb 28, 2012
If you use too much pressure to move the handle it will break. Take it back to Aldi and change it over.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me where I can buy the k-fee descaler for the Expressi? Can I use any descaler?
Cheers!
jacqui asked on Feb 22, 2012
I went to David Jones and they carry a box of 3 satchets.
Hillmark Expresso Clean 3 x 40gm Sachets Descaler for kettles and Coffee Machines.
They say on the box suits: Saeco,Breville,Sunbeam,Gaggia,Krups,Kleenmaid and other leading brands so I am assuming it will work in my Expressi Machine.
Was only $8.95 !
I haven't used it yet but if any one does let me know how it went?
Shane_Struck replied on Feb 22, 2012
Woolworths stock Descale Magic. Brilliant for all coffee machines and many other things like dishwashers and kettles too!!
Marsbar14 replied on May 14, 2012
When i first turn the machine on i have to do a rinse before it lets me make coffee. is this right?
mary delzoppo asked on Feb 19, 2012
Yes! Every time you turn it on it automatically switches to rinse mode.
Just press the bottom button wait till done then pop in a pod and choose your cup size.
After making your last cup of coffee flush again after pod removed to clear any remaining coffee in machine.
They also recommend a de-scaler solution every 3 months in the water tank which I haven't done yet.

Shane_Struck replied on Feb 20, 2012
Has anyone been able to find where to buy the descaler recommended by Kfee?
Margaret asked on Feb 14, 2012
The Aldi Expressi site suggests you go to shop.delonghi.com.au 1x500ml bottle $29.95 for 4 doses. ShopWiko.com.au has a 3 pack dose for $8.00. Its just a descaler so shop around. Doesn't look like Aldi intends to stock it but need to contact them directly to find out for sure. The descaler is necessary particularly for hard water areas so check with you local water authorities.
Emanandl replied on Feb 15, 2012
Nope, went to Aldi this morning and asked if they had the descaler, "we haven't got them yet" was the answer...maybe online?

We've bought the Limited Edition (Red) Expressi two days ago. Happy with it BUT how can you get the milk hotter? We've tried pushing the button several times & have the Heat attachment in the bottom of jug, but just drinkable, not hot. Suggestions?
Butterfly asked on Feb 4, 2012
We put our milk in the microwave for a minute or so before adding it to our coffee....Or are you talking about the milk frother machine? anyhoo that's what we do and it works.
msredwine replied on Feb 6, 2012
Coffee really should not be drunk very hot - ideally 65deg C. I believe you are referring to the milk frother, which according to the manual only heats to 65 deg C. To get it hotter you can place the brewed coffee in the microwave before adding frothed milk, or coffee with frothed milk in micro wave. Both options for about 10~15 seconds max in microwave. The Nesspresso is no different. Both have elements that heat and froth, but they don't get the milk hot. The more expensive machines have slightly different systems. Cafe use pressured steam to froth milk in a separate jug - the best method. Don't try to heat the milk in the microwave and pour into the frother, as I am told the frother will sense the temp and switch off. Also don't heat the coffee too much either as it will cook, loosing you some flavour. Hope this helps.
Emanandl replied on Feb 6, 2012
Firstly, heat the cup with boiling water a minute before you pour/express the coffee. The best hot milk I've ever had is from a saucepan heated normally from on top of the stove. Be care you do not overheat the milk.
ottouberswengen replied on Feb 8, 2012
The milk frother comes with 2 attachments one inside and one attached to the lid so you dont lose it.
The standard one just froths the milk enough for a flat white coffee the second one with the spring on it (It is not a heating element like you implied) is for aerating the milk with heaps of froth.
The heat setting is fixed and cannot be changed.
Pushing the button again will just start the process again to the same temprature 65deg c

I am trying to figure out how to change the cup capacity setting. It says in the book to hold the appropriate cup size button for the required length of time then the machine will remember the setting. This doesn't work!! want 35ml coffee, not 50ml!
jax4 asked on Feb 2, 2012
Hi Jax4 - The small cup button produces 40ml of coffee as it's minimum and can be increased to 110ml. You won't be able to get less than the minimum, so you will have to reset it back to its original setting to give 40ml. I guess the way to do that is to turn off the machine. Wait 30 seconds, turn it on, press small cup and see what you get. If that doesn't work - try, when it gets to the level (40ml) press the small cup button again to stop it. If it doesn't stop, hold your finger on the button and at the same time turn the machine off at the wall. Good luck.
Emanandl replied on Feb 3, 2012
+1, the above reply by Emanandl. All one has to do is to press the button to the exact amount each time. The "Auto" setting really is for people without any desire to use their brains/fingers. Those people should just go and buy a cup of coffee from the nearest vendor. Keep an eye on the cup, (which isn't ALWAYS the same size anyway) press the button. If you want more, or less, press again! The trick is putting down your iphone/ipad/ipod and just do one thing, in order to achieve this.
ottouberswengen replied on Feb 3, 2012
Thanks for that, I thought that may be the case, but in my instruction book it implied you could do both. It also says my small cup measure is 50ml, not 40ml, and that's what's coming out.
Still love my machine though! :)
Thanks!

How do you clean the machine?Aldi does not carry the cleaner.
Pauline asked on Jan 18, 2012
If you mean general cleaning of components, then everything comes out and is washable under a tap. Dry the metal cup stand immediately, though. As for the internal parts. The way it works is it requires a flush to be made, by pushing a button, each time you use it and it won't allow a coffee to be made until you do this first. The water goes through and cleans it. It is an awesome, efficient little machine.
Teri_White replied on Jan 19, 2012
There is a chemical that the k-fee website has which you are supposed to use monthly - you put it in the water and press the rinse button until the water is gone. Aldi don't currently stock this and I'm going to be asking next time I'm in and the website only ships to Germany.

Can you please describe which coffee brand capsules"do not fit"in the Aldi Expressi Coffee machine?Storage wise how long have the coffee capsules lasted? How long has it taken before the Expressi capsules went off?How are u storing your capsules?
regular asked on Dec 20, 2011
Unfortunately, only the pods made and design for the expressi k-fee system can be used with the machine. The Map Bella coffee range pod is exactly identical but the water flow is different (hence the placement of filter within the pods).
I ran map bella coffee pods through the express and it spat out a large amount of coffee grounds - not recommending anyone to try. On the other hand, map bella has chocolate pods which will work. Because there are no filters, it is the only pod outside of the expressi range which will fit.
Storage wise, anywhere. In terms of shelf life - a long time but because it is package in plastic, the aroma will be compromised with age.
My nespresso is package in aluminum and after 12 months, its still good as day 1.
Hope it helps.
