Apple and software upgrades. A clever way to make products feel obsolete! – Over the last few years that I have been using apple products, I have seen this trend of making products slower with passing software upgrades. Ipads (multiple types), iPods, Macbooks... it seems to affect all. Classical case is the humble iPad. I have been using iPads since the iPad 2 days. Over the years I got a mini as well but it looks like… Read more
with every software upgrade the product has deteriorated in performance. I understand the logic of trying to sell new products but dont quite understand why should someone who has already paid top dollars to buy the iProducts be made to suffer? I am not doing anything more on my ipad than I used to do in the first year of buying it! The product has started crawing after IOS 9 upgrade. Apple listening? Stop doing this to your loyal customers. its not a naming and shaming exercise. I just want Apple to, for a change, try to provide better service to their customers than just use them for milking money.
I know I am winging here but do I stop using apple products? The loyal side of me keeps on going back to apple products but hey will I stop myself from this compulsion? Surely pretty soon if this trend continues!!!
Apple customer for life! – Bought it when it first came out, i have the 16GB. I am a student so i have it set up to do very specific things. I have apps for study and apps to watch SBS and ABC and read. But the real reason i love Apple is because i left the ipad in the back seat of a flight last year flying back from Sydney. Called lost property - gone. Worst part was… Read more
i had it on airplane mode which apparently voids find my phone. I kept checking but the ipad never connected to wifi or anything. I was pretty mad and needed an ipad badly for uni but was so miffed by the experience i kept putting it off.
Once day 4 months later i got a call from the salvation army, telling me someone handed it in. Turned it on and up popped my number!
Can you beleive it? they must have tried for months to break it and failed. Im happy they did the right thing and handed it in and even more thankful for Apple making a security proof product.
Expensive but worth every single dollar, Thanks Apple!
Excellent – This is a fabulous product. I had read everything before purchase, so knew EXACTLY what it did and didnt do. This is NOT a laptop. I now find I wont need a laptop, but I expect to use my house computer sometimes. I love everything about this product. The use is intuitive, you dont really have the try to remember how to do something. There seem to… Read more
be apps for just about everything you could possibly want to do, and a lot of them are free. I have the 64 g wifi. I am nowhere near even halfway full, and i have all my music, photos, and 4 full length movies. I do not have a laptop, nor did I have a iPhone, so this works for me as my main use machine. I do all my email, websearching, game playing, recipes, photo retouching........you get my drift I would like a USB port. That would be good. I am now used to no flash, and only have needed to go to my main computer about five times due to no flash. I prebought my iPad prior to release, so I have had it from day 1, so thats pretty good really. I recently got given the keyboard port, and have had to sell my apple cover, as it doesnt allow usage of the port while in the cover, and i didnt like taking it out all the time.

Awesome Product, Great Build Quality – This device deserves a 5-star rating as we have had it since brand new and it still functions like a charm. Ages very well over time and the metal exterior is very durable as there are some scratches and very small dents on the corners. This iPad doesn’t come with a camera though so that’s probably one of the few downsides. For what it is, it is excellent! Show details
I had this friend for a six years – iPad has been great tool for me to read the books while I was doing my degree at the university. Without it I would have had to print so much which would not be good for an environment. It lasted 9 years before it broke down beyond being able to be repaired. Show details
Still works fine – I purchased this a couple years ago for university and it is still going strong. The battery life isn't that great anymore and it does take a while to charge but I can't complain as it still performs just fine. I do have a newer version for work and it seems to have much the same features as my 1st gen. Show details
Do not buy 16gb model – I purchased ipad air 2 16gb model for my daughter (year 7). She installed about ten apps for study and 2 games to play. The first school term has not finished yet but her ipad already warns running out of space! I checked and found out that the ipad actually got 11gb only! Apple gives ipad's customers 5gb storage in icloud! where they… Read more
constantly update the ipad's info and store in icloud.
I thought this ipad could be with her for 6 years of high school. But just in 1 term it already runs out of space. Maybe you better spend more money with 32gb model rather buy more space for icloud which makes Apple dirty richer.
Apple Ipad – If you want something for more than two years DONT BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY! Samsung anyday! Two year life! And trust me it will die just a couple months after your warranty period GUARANTEE IT! For a product that was always treated with extreme care Apple should be ashamed . . . . .
Nothing Special – I found this to be a waste of money. It hurts my hands when I hold it, it weighs way too much and it's super slow. The front camera is grainy and the video is laggy. I wouldn't buy another iPad.
Rubbish – The i pad is the most over rated device, I was so excited to receive one as a gift, & loved it at first, but it has been a source of sheer frustration, it is about to be driven over by my car RIP I pad
Big Brother – I cant even turn on my iPad without being "pushed" to iCloud. Talk about upselling, Apple makes McDonals look amateurish. I'm so fed up with all the unwanted upselling interuptions I will not be buying Apple again
OS8 is so disappointing – I always felt it was worth paying the extra for Apple products because they simple work first time every time. You don't get clashing of software, viruses or operating system issues. However my opinion has now changed, this new OS8 is a nightmare and one that does seem to fixed with the latest updates. My camera does weird things, my phone will… Read more
start playing audio of its own accord whilst the phone is locked. The list of problems are to many to list on this site. It's possibly the worse operating system to be introduced and so unlike Apple.
Very Disappointed – Agree with Jay. I also have first generation ipad which wasnt cheap and Apple no longer supports with software updates. This is resulting in apps not being able to update as they are starting to need IOS version 6. Shame on such a large company as Apple not continuing to support their customers.. Do they seriously think there wont be a backlash… Read more

IPAD rules my world – What an awesome new toy. Instead of waiting for computer to boot up, I turn the iPad on and have all the information I need at my finger tips. I can do on-line banking, talk to other people whilst all in the front of my tv. Don't have to hide in a bat cave anymore, I can still feel sociable at the same time. Convenient Needs charging alot Show reply
Do buy an Ipad, It's Great!! – I used to have trouble reading the screen on my iphone so went out and got an ipad with retina display and its absolutely fantastic. Should have got one ages ago... Does everything that i need it to do it surfs the net and downloads my emails and i can do my banking on it. I downloaded a few games and other apps for it too. Have not had the adobe… Read more

Way easier to read than a stupid iphone. For older people this is ideal.Very stable OS it has never failed yet. I use it as a personal hotspot for my daughters ipad and with wifi and i use it as an internet gateway for the Linux and windows PC which work with it very well. The LTE network here is a lot faster than the 3G and i get fantastic download speeds too.
Great product! Everything. Nothing really. Easier file transfers without using Itunes would be nice.
Do not buy an iPad – If I knew better, I would not be buying an iPad - unbelievable the amount of websites that I cannot browse using iPad and need to get my laptop to browse them ! Even when trying to fill out forms online or read certain documents the iPad is quite [censored word removed] sorry. I would strongly recommend against buying it if you already own a smart… Read more

Works good for emails and online looking! – What an easy device to use to get onto the internet, look up videos, recipes, pictures and music. Playing games is easy with the app store and it's just easy. If you are a more simple person, the ipad is for you if you arent into electronics. Only thing is that it doesn't play flash video files. Not that many people use it anyway! Works, good battery life with the ipad 4.
Wrong iPad delivered. Buyers Beware! – I bought an iPad for Xmas and paid top dollar for it. Problem is kogan sent me an iPad with a connection for Europe and not Australia! So now my husband has an iPad for nearly 3 weeks that he can't use and despite emailing kogan many times have not heard back...they sure where happy to take my money however..... Really regret buying from kogan .. It ruined what was supposed to be a great xmas present and turned it into a drama now for me!
No Adobe Flash – I have only ever had an iPad, I love everything about it... Except that it doesn't support adobe flash player! If you are like me and visit a lot of photo uploading sites that require adobe flash player, prepare to get very pissed off. but chrome allows you to and you can have a pin code to use chrome, I found this really helpful :) Apps Doesn't support adobe flash player
Love my iPad – I own the original iPad and I love it!,it's a great size and it does everything the iPhone does, its only downfall is it will not let you view pages with flash which can be somewhat annoying. The iPad is family friendly, easy to use, fun and educational!.I cannot recommend a better product Everything It won't let you view pages with flash
Love – I have had my iPad for a couple of years now and I just love it. It saved my sanity when spending extended periods in hospital. I was able to go on line, collect emails, do my banking, play games and also listen to audio books. There are just so many apps you will be able to find something you just Need to have. I run cloud and this is great… Read more

Fantastic – Love the iPad, don't know how I could go with out it. It's the best tablet computers have used. It comes in handy for both work and at home. I it to order my suppliers parts whilst in the consumers home, before this I would have to wait for my old computer to boot up or wait until I was back in the office both took me a lot more time. Light weight, easy to use,
For Browsing – Recently purchased an iPad 2. I was worried abought the differences between the new iPad and the iPad 2. My partner has the new iPad and to be honest I can't tell much of a difference. I mainly use it for browsing news and blog sights. Not to fussed on the app store. I would recommend apple users out there to get on the tablet band wagon. It does… Read more
seem excessive having a laptop, ipad & iphone. But I use all 3 for different things. handy, convenient battery life
Love the new technology – Purchased this iPad for an US and Canada oversea trip, for it's GPS option. We downloaded the Australian maps prior to leaving the country and they worked great. We were a little worried that the US and Canada maps may not have worked when we on US soil but there was no need to worry, there were none of the usual disagreements on the road trip… Read more
with this baby on board. We conquered the US freeways and did over 4,500 miles. We have been recommending this product to all our retired friend for their next trips. No more divorces for couples travelling on road trips. Plus we downloaded all our photos, music and lots of talking books this product does so much!! It even does Skype. Reliable, lightweight, easy to conceal, versatile and easy to use. Cant save photos to memory drives and stand alone hard drive.
Love it – It is mainly used by my kids I must say. I used to read books on it, but now got a Kindle which is much better for reading. Kids are still loving it with heaps of games available and it makes my life easier when I like some quit time I put on a movie :) Got a Supershell for it from medge. It is really good protection for when the kids use it. Can recommend you to do the same. Best toy ever for the kids Not so good for reading books
Love the ipad – When I had some light leakages. I was told it was normal and although said if I am quite worry, I could take it in to be look at. So I did and they saw it and although again told its ok, they were very happy to give me a new one.. and he put everything sorted for me so it was very easy for me to just put all my information on it.. very cool apple. The service and being treated with respect
Got it as a gift, wish I brought one earlier – Perfect replacement for a laptop. Sure there are a few little niggles like not being able to load flash, but the good things far outway the bad. Thousands of apps to choose from so your bound to find something that suits your needs. I have recently been starting to use the ipad for my 4wd mapping requirements and I find the large screen a big… Read more
plus. Would be a great buy just for surfing the net as it can be turned on from sleep within 10 secs - try doing that with a normal computer!! Easy to use, fast load up times. Thousands of apps Accelerometer can be a little temperamental if ipad is dropped (thanks to the kids!!!). Actually, just keep it away from kids in general as once they discover the games that can be had you'll never see it again.
Good – iPad is definitely one of the most unique inventions to date. It is slim, light, nice design yet offers some of the best features in a pocket computer so far. Whether you are looking to buy a portable computer, music player, ebook reader, game console, video camera/digital camera, make sure that you check out the iPad first. The product is well… Read more
designed and offers excellent features. It is a product that you would want to take with you on holiday. Forget the ebook reader, iPad offers that but much much more. Great piece of technology and a wonderful invention. I would recommend it for anyone. Great design, easy to carry anywhere and full of great features Expensive and my customer service experience with Apple in regards to warranty is not good
Absolutely love it – Love the accessibility and convenience of having internet, email, calendar, movies, games, music all at my fingertips wherever i go. User friendly, reasonable value, convenient Apple is so over controlling. It can be tedious transferring files from a PC
Fantastic for surfing the net – After buying my ipad I very rarely need to use my laptop except to sync it. My favourite thing to do on it is read, it differs from a kindle because the screen is backlit and I love this because I often read in bed so I need the light. My kids and husband love the movies and apps. There are so many free sites that have free apps now. Extremely… Read more
portable, fantastic for occupying the kids at doctors appointments etc. It is a bit fiddly to work out the syncing process but you eventually learn.
Take it every were with me, it is so useful – It is so compact yet I can use it for so many things anywhere I am. Excellent – Although a bit on the pricy side, its worth the money, I live in a rural area in Queensland and have had a lot of problems with satellite internet, its just didn't work!, but the 3G ipad solved that problem immediately, good speed always available without being constantly online and connecting is fast. travelling with it is so much easier and lighter! (regular travellers know the hassles of travelling with adaptors, cables, cases and so on). It is synced with my main computer, so all data is backed up. It also gives us portable wireless internet through the house and grounds.
Well done Apple. Great size, good solid feel to the unit, very user friendly, another trusted product from a trusted company. A little pricy, I purchased the 3G model as I live in a rural area. Apple and Adobe need to sort out their cold war issues.
Fantastic – Fantastic Equipment, I cant wait until the next model is released. I will be first in line to purchase regardless of price. Fantastic They should have made the iPad years ago...Dont know how I have lived with out my iPad up til now ?
A great toy – Still rely on pc for serious work stuff. Great for traveling overseas which is why I got it. Great for playing..watching movies, reading books, checking maps. Can make notes on it for work but then gave to retype onto pc. No flash is really annoying. Without my daughter, who is IT trained, I would not have got any books or movies onto the iPad. still just hand it over to her to load stuff on if I want anything. All in the too hard and too time consuming to fiddle with converting files etc. iTunes is painful to use, often mucks up my pc settings and has wiped iPad music files a couple of times when trying to load a DVD. Love typing on the iPad.
Great toy. Quick to Check emails. Easy to type. Beautiful screen to watch movies or read books. Easy to carry and use whilst traveling. Expensive. No decent work type programs and incompatible with just about any other computer. No flash so emails can't always be read. Difficult loading anything onto it-have to have another computer to link to it just to begin initial use.
